http://www.zophar.net/Files/TextNES.exe <AWESOME, I used to play with this emulator all the time! Looks like they made a MIRC version (http://www.zophar.net/Files/MircNES.zip) too!
Now all it needs is a NES-to-Adlib driver with PC beeper for the PCM channel (it's possible to play PCM samples through the PC speaker by telling it to vibrate faster), you could fool people into thinking there's PC ports of NES games!

I didn't even have to read this post to know what Derrek Lee was up to.

What is it exactly?

What is it exactly?
It's a NES emulator that plays in ASCII. Think NES with IBM textmode graphics (http://www.wicasta.com/media/images/kroz.gif), and you'll be on the right track.

I KNEW IT
YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS ALWAYS CAUSING ME TO MISS MY SCHOOL BUS :-&
Foiled yet again by Mr. Moderator Man, I'll get you some day
-
I still blame it on your obsessive Frosted Flakes eating. By the way, what school do you even go to, Derrek?
-
obsessive Frosted Flakes eating.
NO SUCH THING.

Lee graduated from El Camino High School in 1993, setting the school record for the most times a student missed a school bus.
-
But you still try to take the bus today right?
-
How else am I going to get to Wheaton to eat at Panera Bread? :?
-
I know a certain fish in Crete that would love to drive you up there!
-
Nah, I hear that he just drives Nebraskans to airports
I am from Sacramento and I need to get a soup bowl not a plane

Ooooh! Sounds interesting!
Edit:I can't get it working. How do I run it?
-
You guys have a Panera out there in Buttf*ck? I'm surprised. I thought only us city-folk were treated to such luxuries.
-
No, that's the joke
How you have to drive to the middle of bourgeoisland to go to that awful pretentious restaurant

You need an actual DOS-capable computer. I dunno if DOSBox will suffice or not. There's no sound at all.

I have DOSBox, and I tried it on there and don't know how to run it.

To tell you the truth man, I have no f*cking clue. I last ran it about 2 years ago, on my old K6-2. I'll have to go find my mouse for it tomorrow and tell you, but right now it's "four o'clock in the mornin' and it's staaaarting to get light" (http://www.backtotheoldskool.co.uk/4am.htm), so I'm off to bed. Try VDM Sound, it works great on tons of old DOS games & programs, I use it to play all the Ultimas and AD&D games. DOSBox is awesome too, but you really need to download one of the front ends for it or else it's a pain in the ass to use the command line.
