The e-mail I received, also mentions they would be interested in stopping support for the Turbo Grafx, as in they would like to clear out as much inventory as possible, and would like for someone to pickup the leftover pieces wholesale, and resell them.
Though I have much of what I need/want, I will pick up a few more items from this sale as this may be one of the last, or THE last purchases I make from TZD.com.
A copy of the e-mail I received,
"Hello,
Turbo Zone Direct must clear out inventory! Our loss is your gain!
Well it had to happen, TZD must clear out thousands of inventory items before we must move in 30 days. This is your opportunity to save a bundle and lighten the load we must move. Here's an offer you can't beat, one we've never made before. We're offering 50% off our ENTIRE inventory for the month of November. Here are the details: You must include MOVING SALE in the comments section of your order. You must purchase at least $30.00 worth of merchandise at the net cost (after the 50% is deducted.) We will adjust the order total here. Your credit card is not charged until the order is picked to assure you the correct amount.
As usual nothing is held back, there are no limits to the number of items you may purchase or the number of orders you may place. This offer will end November 31,2007. We expect to close out a number of titles during this sale; we will make every effort to update the web site. This is a golden opportunity for you to stock up on your favorite Turbo merchandise at a super price. Don't miss out! Turbo merchandise not sold by TZD is getting harder and harder to find. As you know everything we sell is new, factory-sealed merchandise.
We do not know yet where we will be in 30 days so act now!
TZD is also looking for a wholesaler that might be able to take on or take over the legacy we started in 1994. If any of you know of a company or organization that can handle bulk resale of these classic video games, parts and accessories, please use our email contact at www.tzd.com (http://www.tzd.com/)
Feel free to write if you have any questions, you know we value your input and support.

Unfortunately, I already have all the games that they still have in stock. Maybe a few spare controllers need to come my way, even though I already have a dozen or so.
I wonder just how much it would take to buy 'em out. Hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands? :-k
-
update?? I hope it's soon.
-
update?? I hope it's soon.
What? Who? When? Where? How? :?
-
"We expect to close out a number of titles during this sale; we will make every effort to update the web site"...lol
-
That sale should absorb a good part of the ridiculous shipping fee for Canadian orders. :D
Ordered:
J.B. Harold Murder Club
John Madden Duo Football
Forgotten Worlds
Meteor Blaster DX
and 7 manuals.
Now the only games I'm missing from them is Prince of Persia and Sim Earth.
Thanks!
-
I better save some cash for this sale :D
-
They keep saying they have thousands of pieces left, but they really don't have that many different items left to sell.
I wonder what kind of numbers they have for some of this stuff... What's keeping the quantity in the thousands? 32,643 copies of Power Golf?
-
I think there is an interview with TZD on this site, mentioning after his death he may be lining his crypt with copies of Power Golf.... I wonder if there are over 1,000 of that title?
I purchased:
- Modified Tg controller - Awesome for the Duo. $10 is a good price for a new controller, with a long cable. This is the type of controller I primarily use with my Duo-R.
- TG-16 AC adapter
- TG-16 extension
- TG-16 repair cable - May come in handy...
- Lords of Thunder - I already own this game, though having a spare for future trades is cool.
- JB Harold - Same as above.
- 3 manuals - Some titles I have, that may have worn manuals. If they're in stock, cool. If not, no big deal.
-
Looks like the Turbo Expresses have disappeared from the online price list. I wonder if they sold out or just don't want to sell them for half off :-k
-

They don't want to sell it half-off. They have 8 left. Steve told me.
-
I bought
FORGOTTEN WORLDS
LORD OF THUNDER
IMPLODE
BUSTER BROS.
DUNGEON MASTER
should be like $75.. nice
-
Scored :
Buster Brothers
Forgotten Worlds
Shape Shifter
I've never ordered from TZD before might as well get one in if this is my last chance.
-
I got the email too and this is awesome  and sad :( . I'm totally purchasing a Turbo Vision!

I can understand why they don't want to sell them for 50% off, but if they did I'd be all over it. :) I'll have to pick up some things this month as well. Thanks for the heads up!
-
Looking at the site, it appears the following are sold out:
- Lords of Thunder
- Meteor Blaster
- Replacement antenna mast for Turbo Vision
-
Wow, that was fast.
Apparently they are getting some good returns on this sale. I really hope it isn't douchebag eBay re-sellers buying this stuff up. That would really piss me off. Too bad there is nothing I could do about it, anyway. :?
I have been waiting a long time for the day that Lords of Thunder finally sold out. I predict in the somewhat near future prices for the US version will skyrocket on eBay.
-
"We expect to close out a number of titles during this sale; we will make every effort to update the web site"...lol
Uh, right.... so you're hoping that they sell out of everything soon then? I guess that's good for TZD, but not so good for the rest of us.
-
Forgotten Worlds looks to be gone too. Good thing I got it when I did.
I do hope the people buying stuff up are gamers because I'd like to think that people are enjoying these purchases and not just looking to ebay hoard. I'm surprised it took Lords of Thunder this long to sell out but then again the game is such a classic most of us have a copy by now I'd wager.
But the driving up of the price is the reason I have so few American Turbo CD games. I think the only ones I have are Cosmic Fantasy II, Dragon Slayer, Ys Book I/II and LOT. I wouldn't mind getting more but its hard to justify the price gouging. The Japanese versions are far cheaper and that includes shipping.
On the one hand good sellers in Japan on ebay have made my collection grow easily and with very little price insanity. On the other hand some American sellers have made some games out to be worth more then they are. I guess it's a two sided coin with ebay and it depends on who is doing the selling.
Back to the topic at hand this might be TZD's swan song I dunno what's gonna be left after this one.
(Insert joke about 9 million copies of Turbo Golf)
-
Forgotten Worlds looks to be gone too. Good thing I got it when I did.
Dude, that's f*cking crazy. Like 10 or 15 minutes before you posted that message (after I posted my last one) I had checked the TZD page and Forgotten Worlds was still there.
f*ck, now J.B. Harold is gone too. That was one I was planning on buying. This is nuts.

Yeah either this sale has every PC-E/Turbo owner crawling out of the woodwork or they didn't have that much stock left....

This really enforces my theory that they have like 4 copies of every game on that page, except Power Golf, of which they have over 65 thousand. That's the only possible way I can envision that they have "thousands of pieces left."
-
man, this is depressing. They always have sales when I have to pay my credit card bill. Now all the good titles are leaving :(

Sold-Out:
- Turbo Express TV Tuner

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Whatever happened to those e-mail auctions he was having a few months ago where he was going through games he only had one of in alphabetical order? It seemed like it stopped right after the first batch. What about the stock that was sent to Canada for Donsal. Is all of that gone as well?
-

Yeah, I'm very curious what happened to the rest of the alphabetical stock too.
They stopped after the first batch, which was like midway through B. Unless he decided to keep these for himself or something, C-Z should still be available. I got a new copy of Blazing Lazers during that sale.
-
TZD guy told me over the phone before he closed yesterday that he had plenty of Forgotten Worlds in stock to even last all weekend. My friend and I ordered two of them today at 10 Am central time, along with other titles, and after reading the above I am going to be pissed if he doesn't fill our order correctly as he "assured "me he had enough.
-
Damn i wish i could jump on that sale.
Still i was busy picking up games on ebay eariler.
Guess i'm out of luck then.
-
I'm glad I got what I could from TZD before the Ebay scourings began. I know US versions of some of these games get a high price but there's no way they had a few of these (though there'll be a site able to sell us factory sealed Andre Panza Kick Boxing until the end of time).
I just got into the Turbo about two years ago and only started ordering from TZD regularly several months ago, but I still feel sad that they're running out of software.
I'd like to think gamers who are going to happily tear these out of the shrinkwrap and play them ASAP are getting them but there'll always be hoarders jumping on these kinds of sales.
Personally, I finally got the controllers and extension cables necessary to have Dungeon Explorer fulfill its true potential. :D
The aftermath of this sale will make me chuckle though. I envision an Andre Panza/Power Golf 2 for 1 promo in the near future...

Well I ordered my games on the first day of the sale and here is what I got today from tzd.com:
"Thanks for the order! Unfortunately we have run out of Forgotten Worlds. "
So looks like you're out of luck... or he's being mean to me? :(

Sold-Out:
- Turbo Express TV Tuner
That was all me. Sorry, buddies :( . The site said only two left and the email from TZD said I was buying the last one, so I wonder who bought the other one? Unfortunately the email told me the case has some wear and doesn't include instructions but "guarantees" it's new. Still for $40, I couldn't pass that up. I also got a System Card 2.0.
-
well, I'm glad that you got it kerano :)
-
Aww thanks, pal :) ! I'll be sure to put it to good use for a Console Chronicles episode!

Dude, I would have sold you a System Card 2.0 for $1.99
-
I had no idea what System Card 2.0's even go for these days, but I just know that I don't see them sold often so I figured $7.50 from TZD would be a good deal. Got any other crap you wanna sell?
-
JB Harold out of stock too... ](*,)
-
Ah...damn. I was trying to order Forgotten Worlds and Lords of Thunder, but it looks like they're out?
I got to the sale like a day or two too late.
I emailed tzd to see if they had anything left...I guess we'll see. I'm crossing my fingers.
-
Damn I waited to order until I got paid and they are out of the games I want too. Ah well, things just aren't going my way this week. Hopefully they'll come back in stock.
-
So.....yeeeaaaaa. Anyone here selling a sealed copy of Lords of Thunder for non-ebay prices?
-

Yeah, what he said. I was going to wait until I got paid to get that one too. If anyone has any extras they would be willing to part with feel free to let me know.

Question, what all were you going to order, and, did he cancel the whole order due to not having Forgotten Worlds in stock,or did he still charge your credit card and only ship the other titles, esp without asking first if you would still like to continue to place the order anyway?
My thing is me and a friend did a joint order via credit card. The guy at TZD swore to me that he would have plenty of copies of Forgotten Worlds in,even by next week, since I stated we may originally send in a money order. He said no worries ect...
Well after reading your comment and the others,I really wonder now. My friend went ahead and ordered using a credit card. Hes out of town, cant check his email until prob Monday. We are going to be pissed if there is one waiting for him stating something like "Sorry,no Forgotten Worlds for you,but before confirming if you wanted to still place the order we charged you anyway and shipped the other shit" .
Why would we be pissed you might wonder? Well because while my friend ordered much more,my side of things was only Forgotten Worlds,Shape Shifter,a Duo pad,and a Duo tap. I would have never ever wanted the other stuff on its own,or ordered it on its own from TZD if I was told Forgotten Worlds sold out. I only did this as a joint order BECAUSE of Forgotten Worlds being the item I mainly wanted and was told I could get.
If the card is charged without 2 copies of Forgotten Worlds being included,my friend will most likely deny the charge and send whatever package they shipped out back to them since they would not have asked for permission from us prior before altering the order to suit their own needs, that being TZDs needs.
After reading everyones troubles I honestly feel like the Lords of Thunders and Forgotten Worlds copies were listed only to move the other items and nab sales, regardless of the actual stock on hand, they seemingly kept taking orders even after running out,via phone and email.
In some ways I think they may not even have sold out, they just decided that they wanted to pull those 2 titles from the sale after they got enough combined orders in,thinking they could secure a sale regardless of weather they kept either of those 2 titles in someones purchase.
I wouldn't think this way except for the fact the guy totally lied to me it seems about how many Forgotten Worlds they had in stock to begin with. He even "checked" on how many he had over the phone before swearing I and my friend would be able to get one....that they had plenty, more then enough to last awhile at least. That kinda shit really pisses me off.
-
You might not be far off mark thinking that perhaps they just took them off the list.
I've seen TZD take things off the list for sales in the past-- only for said items to reappear again after the sale is over. The TurboExpress is a prime example. They always take it off the list for sales. Also, a few months back, they put up a big notice that they were selling out the LAST 10 TurboExpress units and when they were gone they were gone. Well, they sold out, and like two months later all of a sudden they "found" 8 more and put them back up on the website.
I don't really understand this business practice. Unless they have a gigantic werehouse just jam-packed full of shit in total disarray, I can't see how you just misplace 8 TurboExpress units only to find them a few months down the road. Considering the TE is their most expensive item, one would think they'd be keeping pretty close tabs on their stock on hand.
I'd be interested to hear what happens with your order.
EDIT: Looks like Ballistix is gone from their inventory now, too.
-
Who knows what happened with Forgotten Worlds. Since there is no limit, it would not surprise me that someone called in a "wholesale" order, or someone purchased 25 copies of the game at $15 a CD.
Sometimes TZD holds onto things, place them aside only to bring them out later (The A-B sale). Duo's randomly appear. etc. Makes some sense to me, get rid of the bulk of the stock, and leak out the last dozen or so when the market is favourable.
I expect this is what the 50% sale is for. To rid most of the stock, and slow moving stock. Form there, depending upon market prices, "rare" items may appear again. Thena gain, I'm speculating....
I do recall hearing that they once found a box of 50 TE TV Tuners, after being sold out for a logn time. This was a few years ago, you'd have to ask the guy at TZD. I think the story had to with a move to a different warehouse, or moving boxes around 50 TE TV Tuners were uncovered.

Yeah well I ordered 4 games, one being Forgotten Worlds. He charged my credit card first and sent me an email afterwards telling me that he was out of that game and asked if I wanted anything else instead. Maybe I should have complained instead of buying a game I didn't really want. :/ I had to buy at least 4 games to justify the $31 shipping fee to Canada.
-
Teach TZD a lesson then, refuse to accept the package and have it returned, and deny the charge with your credit card company. Hes not supposed to be charging peoples cards unless he can fill the original order.
-
Agree with Fulci, they certainly want to get rid of their big stocks. I guess Lords of Thunder might reappear soon.
-
they did the same thing to me - charged my credit card and can't supply a Forgotten Worlds. it's bullshit.
I've never heard of a business doing that in my life. I haven't received my order yet but when I do if I am not pleased they are for certain going to hear about it.
Personally I wouldn't be surprised if they actually DID decide to hang on to their Forgotten Worlds. all it takes is a buncha orders , with FW on every damn order , and they think "hmm maybe we can get more than $15 for this"
I know I personally would not have jumped to place an order within 5 mins of receiving the email had I know FW "sold out". How could it have sold out when I ordered literally as soon as they sent out the Email ?
Staying ambiguous about the size of their backstock - it just reeks of manipulation and disrespect for the consumer.
Overall leaves a bad taste in my mouth -and I hope they are reading this !
-
Huh. I always considered TZD one of the last true bastions of 2D gaming, and I've always thought they provided an excellent service to fans of the PCE/Duo/TG. For them to keep the site going for so many years, through several console generations, always seemed like an act of actual integrity to me.
I've been visiting their site for years now, and I'll be sad to see it go if it does indeed disappear. I think some people may be jumping to conclusions with how this sale is panning out. I guess we'll know for sure by next week.
It'd be a pretty dishonorable way to go out....f*cking with the fans/longtime supporters. I think there's a good chance the sale just went beyond their expectations.
-

That would indeed be dishonourable.
To TZD. If you have a product in limited amounts/stock you note that and warn the customer or list what you really have. I placed my order about 7 minutes after getting the email. Now I'm yet to hear anything from TZD concerning order problems, maybe I got lucky. I hope they got it right I really do. But even if they didn't mess up my order I'm still steamed that they messed up so many other people's orders. That's no way to do business.
And if they did mess up my order their getting it back.
-
I don't think TZD is pulling a bait and switch with Forgotten Worlds, haha. From what I've gathered, TZD doesn't always have perfect stock take, as they run another business out of the same warehouse. Someone could have purchased 50 pieces of the game before you had a chance to order. Better for you to ask TZD during business hours.
I don't think any titles will be reappearing on that list. This seems to be a sale to clear out slow moving stock, and to get rid of the glut of it.
For those who missed out on JB Harold (Nat). I was early to get my order in, about 2 hours after that e-mail arrived to my in-box, so I may receive JB Harold. I may part with the game provided I receive payment promptly, and enough to cover the total cost of the item ($10 + Shipping to me, and shipping to you).
-
Is this "warehouse" a big bookshelf and PC in some guy's spare bedroom or is it a real warehouse with employees and crates and with something I'd need a class-B license to drive? That's what I'd like to know.
Either way they should have taken Forgotten Worlds off the page before they sent out the email.
and they should be able to credit people's credit cards BACK and not have to pester them to "pick something else".
How did they not expect this sale to be as big as it has been? They know the size of their mailing list. I'm sure they are very aware of the resale on Ebay value of everything they sell.
#-o
anyway, it'll work out for everyone, no matter how you choose to handle it. :^o
-
My TZD order arrived. All looks good!
I'll see what TZD.com's stock looks like later this afternoon, I may make another visit...
-
Well no Forgotten Worlds for me. Considering I ordered 10 minutes after the email went out this proves they had no copies of that game and if they did have copies not enough to include them in this sale. No email, phone call or anything. On the other hand they did give me half off on the games I did order so it wasn't like I got cheated and I did want the games I received. Plus they were shipped fast.
So I think I'll keep what I got and won't return it. However if they survive this clearance I won't be buying from them again. I don't have much tolerance for stuff like this.
-
I canceled my order.
-
Did you get your money back?
-
I have been reading here for a long time but this thread has promted me to step up and say what needs to be said.
Some of you people are insane. If you think TZD is trying to scam you a la Buyrite or some other lame online game stores, you're out of your minds. Either that, or you are so new to the Turbo scene that you know nothing about it.
TZD has been serving the Turbo community since the early\mid 90s. It's not being run out of a truck with the engine running or out of some guy's parents' basement. They used to operate out of Van Nuys and the last ten years or so have been out of Santa clara if I'm not mistaken. It has been a business for a long time. They have brought Sapphire, Dracula X, Ys IV and tons of other games (when they were available) from Japan. they didn't charge us ridiculous prices for any of it. They serviced Turbo machines, offered gameplay support, kept whomever they could from TTI, and, when able to, have cut many MANY deals to customers. They used to even give out free swag- promos, magazines, etc. Hell, I once even got a Sherlock Holmes 2 calculator from them- for free. This undeserved belly-aching is completely out of order.
Those of you smarting over Forgotten Worlds- if you wanted it so badly, you might have considered getting it sometime over the LAST 13/14 YEARS that they have been selling it instead of waiting until TZD was down to a handful of copies. Now, if you REALLY want it new, why don't you go over to telegames.co.uk. The last I checked, they were charging GBP 60 which is over $120 (US dollars) for it. TZD has had it for $30 for a LONG LONG TIME.
If you don't like the fact that they may have pulled the Expresses of the sale list (if they indeed still have them), then perhaps you should try buying a new one of those someplace else. I think Telegames US sold them for $250 while TZD sold them for $180. Telegames UK? $500 at last check. I don't blame them if they did such a thing. Someone once taught me a very valuable lesson (and that person is likely here reading this): It's better to make a slow dime than a fast nickel. TZD has lost its lease and perhaps more. They've severely marked games down over the years. Remember when Shanghai II and Power League V were like $40 a few years back? TZD had to take a loss on them just to get rid of them. Why not keep a few things which will definitely make money in the future? Given what market choices are on sealed Expresses, I'd certainly sell some stock for much more, much later.
Finally, those of you suspicious of TZD screwing people over with broken promises on games like Forgotten Worlds, I can sympathize. You, like me, have probably been under the assumption that TZD would be around forever with unlimited stock. After all, their original agreement with NEC expired like way back in 2000 and they're still here. Why not assume they'd be around another 20 years? Would you be wiling to believe that there were - if I'm not mistaken - less than 85,000 Duos sold in North America? How many copies of games like FW would have been made? Some Duo games had print runs of way under 5,000 (I think Dynastic Hero had 1,500). It's painful to know that your last chance to get something new has just slipped by but that is no reason for character assasination. I have been on the TML, a Turbo fan, a visitor here at pcenginefx.com and a customer of TZD for a long time- all for over a decade each and it just turns my stomach to see this kind of negativity in a community of the coolest game fans I have ever dealt with..
-
Yeah, nice first post geepee16. Welcome aboard anyway.
I think we are all well aware of TZD's history, and I for one am quite grateful that they've been around for as long as they have (even though my customer service experience has been less than stellar). I don't mind that they pulled the Expresses from this sale, but few would disagree that it's bad form to state something to the effect of "Last chance, buy me now!" on an item only for them to 'find' a few more and pull the same thing a year later. Nor is it good business to tell someone over the phone that stock is plentiful, when in reality it is not. Insane? I think not.
-
Thanks for posting George...You pretty much said what I was going to say.
This incident was a case of stock being mislabeled in the wearhouse, plain and simple. TZD thought they had X amount of stock when in reality after opening up the boxes, that X amount was much lower.
This was not a case of subterfuge.
It was purely a case of stock being mislabeled and thinking they had more copies of the game then they really had.

Hey, George. Good to see your face here.
George is a friend of mine, and makes a good point. I think what he is getting at is that Steve (at TZD) has supported the community loyally for the past 15 years, even (as he pointed out) long after the NEC contract expired. He has gone out of his way (at times) to provide as much support and service for all the US gamers out there as possible. He's gone above and beyond, to say the least.
Personally, the only time I questioned TZD was when they made a huge deal about clearing out the "last" of the TE units only to re-list them some time later. Don't get me wrong-- I think it's great they were able to put more up for sale. I'm still curious as to the circumstances surrounding that incident, though.
When all is said and done though, I'm a little puzzled myself at some of the negativity this sale has provoked in people. Especially for a service that we have been absolutely blessed to have had the privilege of for so many years. It's not like these items were going to be available forever.
Except Power Golf.

Well, it looks like JB Harodl is back for sale.
Also, whomever updates TZD.com, is also updating the old site. After I checked out, with a second order, I deltecd the cart stuff at the end, and went to: https://tzd.com
This is typed there:
"Lost our lease sale is on now! If you have signed up for our mailing list, check your in box or write for details. That is odd. I wonder why they have a copy of the old site up at all. Interesting.

Agreed. I respect what TZD has done over the years and the service they provided to a good game system and a good group of fans. I don't think they were out to screw anyone or steal anyone's cash. However, when you list a product for sale that you apparently don't have or don't have much of that's when trouble starts. I have college degree in business (or will in about 9 months) but if your going to do a sell first thing you do is check your stock. This is 101 level stuff and flatly common sense. They should have checked what they had then made an announcement.
They earned a little bit of negative feedback for this, just because they exist does not exempt them from negative feedback. Business is very much a case of what have you done for me lately, for better or worse this is often how it is. I'm not calling them crocks or anything but they didn't handle this in the best way.
Do I respect what they do ? Yeah I do. But that doesn't make them blameless when they goof.
..........yeah and that site thing is weird :-k

Hrrrm. tzd still hasn't responded to the email I sent on Friday . They must be really busy sorting out the FUBAR'd orders.

(snicker)
Yeah I hope it works out for all parties as best as it can really. Having got my order minus a game, but hey honestly I'm not that upset. Having two brand new sealed TG 16 CD games is kinda cool it almost makes me not wanna open em..........almost :) These will likely be the only new games I'll ever get for this system.

Thanks for posting George...You pretty much said what I was going to say.

Aaron,I got to tell you,I have dealt with TZD since 1994,and this "sale" was a complete scam in my eyes. I never ever had any issues with them before, until now. I called them, prior to making the order,so did my friend. Both times they confirmed over the phone, yea we got plenty in stock. The guy told me he looked right at them. He did this when he checked for me to see if they had any Lords of Thunder still in stock.....
Anyway,we did a joint order, under the belief we were getting 2 Forgotten Worlds in the order. No email was sent to my friend to confirm they ran out or anything,to ask for a second choice, anything at all. My friend calls them about 45 mins ago after I informed him of further post on this thread,as he became more concerned.
They informed him that they charged his credit card anyway, said they were out of stock of Forgotten Worlds, and without confirming if we still wanted to continue the order they shipped anyway. They,Steve, whoever, stated they figured my friend would have wanted the rest of the order anyway, and they would just credit back the difference.
My friend of course got utterly pissed off at the guy, with good reason. This is not how you run a good business, not at all obviously. My friend Eric asked him to make sure it was shipped, informed him this was a joint order, reminded them that I spoke to them last week about this order before it was placed. The guy,Steve, whoever said it was indeed shipped out already. My friend then informed him he was going to inform me,and depending on what I decided,we would deny the charge and return the package at TZD cost.
My friend informed me after hanging up. I obviously get pissed. I call TZD up. This is the real kicker. I explain why the order was placed, that I did not wish to continue a order when I was mainly ordering it for the Forgotten Worlds, the other stuff was extra. I went off on them about how it should have been confirmed with us if we wanted to continue anyway,or cancel the order first before shipping. I also said I was swore to they had plenty in stock. If I was told otherwise,I would not have placed the order obviously.
The guy then decides to tell me they did not ship it,but that if I wanted to cancel my part of the order my friend then couldn't continue his order. He also said my friend lied to me,or in other wordsHe's lying to you.
,and that they did not tell him it was shipped. He stated we could only do the order as a all or nothing, and my friend could not retain his part if I wanted to back out of it. He stressed this by repeating "All or Nothing " in a rude ass tone 3 times.
Man the audacity of saying my friend was lying to me,wtf.... Anyway...
My friend then called him back and asked why they told him it was shipped and why they told me he was lying to me,with me silent on 3 way calling, the guy offered no excuse what so ever for lying, only said he would cancel the order for us in a quick cool manner and hung up. No apology what so ever, nuthin at all.
I don't give a flying f*ck how you try to spin this Aaron for TZD,or anyone else tries to for that matter in TZD defense. This sale was a obvious dupe, they got busted on a large scale in this thread it looks like from other members post. They lied to me and my friend both, and got caught verbally on the phone doing it. It doesn't matter,I mean hey,yea if they are going out of business, who cares. They wont have to deal with anyone after they are out of it.
Nab as many sales as you can in 2 days I guess.....
I don't know how many others they lied to,or told the truth to,it doesn't matter. They got f*ckin caught lying to me and my friend both, multiple times, thats all that matters to me now. This more then ruined any fond memories I had of them in the past.
-
aaaah!
-
aaaah!
???
-
Damn Michael sorry to hear that.........
This is on TZD's head. They didn't check their own stock period they messed up. In my case I got two games I wanted pretty cheap. I like everyone else in this thread didn't get their copy of Forgotten Worlds. Now I'm not returning the order but I'm not doing business with them again.
As for some saying well if you wanted so bad why didn't you buy it earlier ? Well that's not my fault or is it anyone else's fault in this thread that's in the same boat as me. TZD listed stock they didn't have it's their fault 100% being lazy or disorganized is not an excuse if this was any other game seller we'd be calling for their head. It's not my job to make sure they count their own stock right. On another note I can get Forgotten Worlds easily enough from Japan. It isn't about the game. It's about doing business right.
-
Wow...in all the years I've followed tzd's site, I've never heard of anything like this. I'm hoping they go out gracefully on the whole, and not by dicking a lot of people around.
Thanks for posting George...You pretty much said what I was going to say.

Pretty wild to have Forgotten Worlds ruin it for you...
More of my thoughts:
I've encountered out of stock items a few times w/ TZD in the past 4 years. As stock dwindles, and sales slow, I guess they didn't have exact figures for certain items.
I've never seen pics of the Turbo Grafx items at the TZD warehouse, however I'm guessing it's all in cardboard boxes, not all unpacked, easy to see. Unless the guy rumages through all the boxes, difficult to know what all is where.
A few years ago I ordered a few TG-16 to Duo controller adapters. They were out of stock, I received an e-mail notifying me, and a few days after that order they were removed from the site.
Same happened with some game I was ordering, I receive an e-mail saying, "______ is out of stock, we thought we had more. Would you like a credit to your card, or would you like otehr items in it's place?"
Another example is when I ordered a few instruction manuals, and 1 was out of stock. They credited me the $3.00, and shipped my items. When I called, they told me they were out of that particular item, and if I ever order any other manuals, to list substitutes. No problem, I did that with my last order.
Michael, sucks that Forgotten Worlds being OOS ruined it for you. It's no longer listed on their site, so that's good. I didn't order Forgotten Worlds, however I did order Lords of Thunder, which I received. As Aaron mentioned, some items appears to ahve been in lower supply than they though. Considering how long Forogtten Worlds has been in stock at TZD, I doubt they were relying on it as a draw for sales. If they had started listing draw games, at sale prices (Dynastic Hero, Beyond Shadowgate, etc), then with each order canelling those items, and shipping what was available, I'd see thigns differently. As geepee mentioned, Fogotten Worlds has been in stock for a LONG time.
Every once in a while, something sells out, or is not in stock when I've ordered it. I don't let it bother me, as I know as time wears on, items sell out, the site may not be updated as frequently as it once was, etc. Just as with each catolgue update I received in the mail during the 90's, items disappeared.
If anyone placing an order is concerned about something NOT being in stock, add a note about it to your order. Something along the lines of, "If any of these items are not in stock, please e-mail me prior to shipping so I can ___________".
I suggest folks enjoy it while it's there, and grab what they can, who knows what will be going on (if anything) with TZD.com in 2008!
-
MrFulci,I see your points but the fact remains that no matter what TZD got caught verbally lying to myself and my friend, both about stock on hand, and about shipping it then not,and stating my friend lied to me,that was total shit.
There really is no excuses for any of that,at all,and no pretty way to spin it for a positive outcome.
It was clear that when they stated the package was shipped that they were just hoping my friend Eric or I wouldnt say shit, and just accept it as that, then they would have just sent it. They didn't even send a email to offer a second choice, just lied and said they shipped it out.
Then with me,stated they didn't,my friend lied to me,and that they will either do the whole order, mine and his,or nothing at all... I mean come on,wtf,my friend prob still would have continued with his part of the order even if he was pissed off about it. That all or nothing bullshit was weak and extremely poor customer service totally. I fail to see how they thought they could force us both to continue the joint order when I wasn't getting what I wanted, that dumbfounds me on so many levels.
My friend was ordering alot more then me. Other then Forgotten Worlds,I only planed to get ShapeShifter,a game pad and duo tap. Without Forgotten Worlds in the deal,I was not interested in the other items. I ended up just taking the money elsewhere this evening, aka ebay. I won 6 US hucards. Air Zonk,Dead Moon,Sidearms,Blazing Lasers,Fantasy Zone and Somer Assault. This really makes me glad TZD tried to f*ck me,I ended up doing better elsewhere for less.
-
If they are guilty of anything, perhaps it's not taking their customer's needs seriously. Then again it sounds like borderline harassment they way you said you were calling and calling. It's pretty shitty but if the guy was stressed already I may be irritated enough myself to pick up the phone and say "all or nothing".. pretty harsh but that's the real world.
I cancelled my order, wich somehow they were magically able to do instantaneously (seeing as that I placed an order a few minutes after the email went out I'm amazed there are people who have already received their order before mine was even shipped!) although I admit I am still waiting for the money to come back on my card.
Don't worry folks.. this will all lead to more Lords of Thunder / Forgoten Worlds for all of us floating around.. I guarantee. You may have to pay $5 more for an open copy but you'll alteast be able to play your game.
I DO think it's safe to say that if FW re-appears on the TZD website after the sale (in time for Xmas) people are going to be PISSED @!!
-
PCEngineFX, since you redesigned the TZD site, you may want Steve, or whomever is typing the news, know that it is only appearing on their old site.
Thanks for the heads up - I just let them know.
-
This is typed there:
"Lost our lease sale is on now! If you have signed up for our mailing list, check your in box or write for details. We just found a box of Splash Lake (regular price $29.99) and several copies of Battle Royale ($19.99) and It Came From The Desert ($19.99.) Simply add these to the comments section of your order, we will adjust the order total here. Sale prices OK! "
Is this update actually happening? I'd love to get a couple of these but the main site doesn't reflect this yet.
-
I ordered Battle Royale and It Came from the Desert today. Just put a note in the "COMMENTS" section when you place your order.
I also ordered two other games and 9 various manuals to replace manuals that have gotten crappy or lost completely over the years. My current Legendary Axe manual is a joke.
-
Sounds good.
I've never actually played It Came from the Desert before. We all collectively hate FMV games for good reason, so I love any that's halfway competent (Sherlock Holmes, Dracula Unleashed, Killing Moon, Gabriel Knight II, etc.). Can't wait. :D
I was nervous as I'm always neurotic about any "comments field" and what it may cause. If we can get things for $19.99 that aren't listed on the current site maybe I should ask for a Magical Chase. ;)
-
They also have Splash Lake available although it's not listed on the main page. I recommend anyone who doesn't already own this game to pick up a copy. Great 2-player fun.
-

The problem is they lied to me and my friend though, its that simple. They are quite guilty of that. They lied, multiple times, they lied to my friend when he called concerned, upset, but politely the first time. They lied to me flat out when I called, esp on my second call. We wouldn't have had to call them 3 times if they had done right the first time. Thats not harassment,or even borderline. Its called the customer looking out for his money spent.
They lied about stock on hand.
They lied to my friend about shipping the package out on his check up call after all the post on here.
They lied to me again, and accused my friend of lying to me,which was utter bullshit.
On the final call they were very unapologetic, even after being caught in their lies. It was clear they did not care one way or the next.
They made it quite clear they did not care one way or the other and had no interest in making it right with the customer, which is usually what good business is about. When the business f*cks up,it admits it,and ask what they might be able to do to fix it.
What would have been the best thing, the right thing to do from the start is send a email stating out of stock, and asking us for either a second choice,or to continue the order and refund the difference or to cancel it if we wanted.
Granted this was not done,so the second chance they had to fix it they could have stated the above on the phone.
They failed to do so Murderdate. They f*cking flat out lied, and said they shipped the order minus the games without obtaining consent first or asking us if we had a second choice. It was clear they hoped we would just put up with that bs and leave the order as it was.
Only AFTER they were informed by me that we would send their package back and deny the charge did they even admit to not shipping it. And then they said my friend lied to ME. Why they would say something so stupid is beyond me. Why continue lying???? I had no reason to doubt my friend either,as these f*ckers messed up already as it is,and the third call by my friend proved it all.
It isn't all this either, the very first time my friend called them before even placing the order the guy was very unhelpful over the phone, all he got out of him was the same as me,Lords of Thunder sold out,Forgotten Worlds they had plenty of. He also stated this too, that all the other titles they had plenty of also.
When my friend asked about other titles,if they had anything in stock not on the list the guy told him sure, but that he didn't have time to see what they had for sale, and that he had to go unless my friend could basically do the name game and name titles they had. It was pretty crappy. Not a good way to secure a order from a paying customer.
All in all, this was not how TZD was when I ordered in the past from them, from 94-2004. To me this is really sad that its how the last experience I would have with them would turn out,and how my friends first and only one would end up.
People give TZD too much credit too for sticking around. If it wasn't for us,they wouldn't have been able to stick the f*ck around to begin with. No customers/fan base= no sales=no 10 plus years of being able to do business. Its a s simple as that. The Turbo scene would be here either way, regardless of TZD. Maybe there would be less people into it,but not enough to give TZD the alot of the credit for keeping it alive after NEC and TTI left. The fans did that, not TZD.
-
I think it's incredibly lame when a company yells
"We're offering 50% off our ENTIRE inventory"
and suddenly several items are conveniently
missing from their "inventory" during the sale.
-
I ordered some stuff from TZD and everything came in as expected...........however I do have a question. I ordered a Duo pad and what they sent me is what I believe to be a Turbo pad with a Duo cord. Does anyone know what this is about? I thought they offered "brand new" merchandise. This leads me to believe that they took a new Turbo pad and swapped the cord for a Duo. I was hoping for a new actual Duo pad..........anyone came across this before? I'm not saying anything bad towards TZD because my buying experience with them was great!

They have been doing it for a couple of years now. They ran out of original Duo pads long ago. I agree though, the web page still makes it out like its a original Duo pad last time I checked, which could irk someone.
-
I ordered some TG-16 controllers and a back-up A/C Adapter and RF Switch, and everything came in just fine. I was very happy with my purchase.
-
I'm still broke, but I have till the end of the month to take advantage of the sale

Michael's partially right, but the picture does show a TG-16 pad with a Duo cord. Although I concede the wording makes it sound like you're getting a genuine "DuoPad".
On that note, I bought a lot from them. I got 8 replacement game manuals, and 4 games. Great deal.

Word. Though if memory serves, their old web page correctly described it as a TG-16 pad with a swapped cable. I have one of these puppies, and the cord doesn't look like a standard TG-16 cord. I don't know where they got the cord from, but the controller was put inside a bag labeled "Made in Mexico".
On a side note: Saturday's mail brought me my order of a tap, two controllers, a TE ac adapter, and nine games. Everything ordered was in stock and promptly shipped.

Necromancer>you got a PM ;)
-
Looks like everyone's getting their order but me then. The anticipation is painful.
-
So wrong you are,not everyone got their order, complete, partial,or at all. Plus, you're only thinking of the members who have posted on this thread, imagine the ones who didn't,how many there are out there who had problems too on this sham of a sale....

What happened anyway? I was ordering stuff from them bit by bit all spring til the present with no issue at all. From my own experience and what the majority of people say I can't believe they were always terrible.

They weren't,infact any other order I had ever done since winter 94 was handled top notch, and they were the ones that helped me touch base with Smart Works also back then. All in all its just too bad it turned out the way it did on this sale, but screw it,I ended up spending the money on better things. If TZD survives this sale I will however never do business with them again or recommend them to anyone ever.
-
Necromancer>you got a PM ;)
Oh yeah? So do you! :)
-
I still haven't received my package yet and I think I ordered it two Friday nights ago.
-
Maybe there was a labeling error like with the Forgotten Worlds incident and every part of the warehouse is actually filled with Andre Panza Kickboxing.
-
I still haven't received my package yet and I think I ordered it two Friday nights ago.
You might want to check with TZD on your order. I've had two previous online orders get lost before and had to e-mail them after noticing that my credit card hadn't been charged yet.
-
He's right, they normally charge your card right away if they have received and processed your order. This last order I placed with them had my card charged within an hour.
Then again, Keranu lives in Buttf*ck Egypt so I'm not too surprised he hasn't received anything yet.
-
Oh yeah? So do you! :)
You should have received a few bucks on your paypal account, by now ;)
-
Want to be a humanitarian and send some my way, too?
-
Do you have new TGX games for me?
-
You should have received a few bucks on your paypal account, by now ;)
There sure is; now I just need to print out an address and hit the post office on the way home.
-
Got my stuff, everything worked out fine after all. :D
-
got my stuff minus the forgotten worlds i ordered but i wasn't charged for it. i WAS charged for the turbo pad i ordered though which was not in the package.
so i basicly ordered 5 things. one i didn't get cause apperently it ran out before they got to my order and one thing they just plain forgot to pack.
-

Wow, I'm surprised. I've been ordering from then since they were TTi and I've never had that happen.
If you let them know I'm sure they'll make it right for you.
-
It's your fault for ordering it. You should have known they would have forgotten it. No refund for you!

I finally received my Turbo Vision + System Card 2.0 package from TZD! I ordered it on November 3rd and after assuring emails from them, I finally received it today on the 26th. While I appreciated their quick customer service response emails and even more so the great 50% deal, I wasn't entirely happy with what I received.
Now ahead of time right after I placed my order, they sent me an email letting me know that the Turbo Express I was ordering was that there were only two left and I was ordering the last one. They also mentioned that they were missing the instruction manuals and the box was worn, but they guaranteed it was new. I figured it was still a great deal, so I went on with it. However when I received it today, my brother pointed out that there was a small crack by the antenna, which surprised me. I'll try to post pics of this later. I can live with that, but for a product that's guaranteed to be new, I would've expected better condition for the actual inside product itself. However the tuner itself and the System Card 2.0 work fine and I'm happy overall.
Just thought I'd let people know my experience since there seems to be a trend of negative experiences during this sale on this thread.

Don't blame TZD.
The postman probably had a hard time finding Nowhere, USA considering he blinks like any normal human being.

Keep in mind that you won't be able to receive any TV channels on your TurboVision after February 09. And that will last forever and ever and ever and ever. Dead serious. No more CHIPS reruns for you.

Yeah, I thought about that too...I told myself that sometime, between now and then, I would find a location where I get a somewhat clear signal and watch a full half-hour program on my TurboVision, just so I can say I've used it once "for real".

I'll keep watching Ponch on my Express via the video in port. Suck on that, punk!
-
I can just see you lugging around a digital converter wherever you go. I guess that's the only way to get MPEG2 compression artifacts on your TurboExpress.

Which is exactly why I bought one as soon as I could  . I gotta say, the TurboVision is quite awesome, considerably better than the Game Gear TV tuner. But even after terrestrial stations are gone, it can still be hooked up to stuff with AV ports, so I'm gonna hook it up to my laserdisc player so I can watch LDs portably!
-
Be sure to fashion a backpack-type jacket for your portable LD player. That would rule.
-
Of course, just like the Dreamcast back-pack in Typing of the Dead. I'm gonna need a portable power supply too, but I swear this device will still be portable!
-
That email reply they sent you was funny Keranu, esp their remark about this thread you linked to:
btw, we don't follow the message boards, most of the time they are populated by ill-informed people with waaay too much time on their hands! TZD
Thats classic considering they are talking about all their customers. I guess everyone who got screwed by them in one manner or another was simply mis informed and had way too much time on their hands. Its all our fault, even though all the info on the sale came directly from TZD via phone or email......
About as classic as this response they sent to my friend Eric when he informed them he was doing a charge back since they have not refunded his card yet.You did not ask us to communicate anything to you, if you had we would have told you a title was missing.
So basically its my friends fault he didn't tell them to let him know they were out of stock.... Its his fault they charged his card too in advance and lied to him about shipping the package off..... What were they going to do,keep the remainder of our money for the titles they didn't have since we did not request that they let us know if there is any problems???
Talk about blame tossing,TZD has mastered it.
-
Things are all good for me now. TZD is sending me whatever products of my choice that equal up to the price of the TurboVision since it had the crack in it.
-
What are you going to get?
-
Buster Bros. and a Turbo Duo pad.
-
Ergh. Less than a day on that engine tap I need :(
-
Buster Bros. and a Turbo Duo pad.
Have you played Buster Bros. before? It's awesome, especially with a second player.

I finally got my TZD order today and Buster Bros. was one of the games. I also got a second pad and extension cord so I'll have to try some two player this weekend. I also got JB Harold Murder Club after reading some posts about it, so I'm looking forward to that too. I'm still bitter on missing out on Lords Of Thunder and Forgotten Worlds though.
-
lords of thunder is one of the best ( if not thee best) games on the console.
-
Good game, though definitely not the best.
One of the best soundtracks, however.

I've briefly played a friend's back up copy of it before with him and I've played a little bit of the Gameboy and SNES versions too. Seems like a lot of fun, I've been wanting to get the Turbo one for years.
-
I've bought this game from TZD a long time ago and I still haven't even taken it out of the shrinkwrap.
I have a bunch of games like this. One of these days...
-
Uhhh- perhaps this has been said- but it says Nov 31st is the last day of the sale. Only there's 30 days in November.
-
I noticed that too...I would take that to mean it ends after 12:00 midnight tonight. I'm probably gonna break down and buy 2 Turbopads and 4 extension cords so we can all play Bomberman '93 in different rooms.
-
I just placed my order. Man I love these guys!! Whenever I call to place an order, it's more like talking to an old Turbo gamer friend than a sales associate.
I'm sorry that some people's experience with them has been soured as of late, but I just cannot find anything bad to say about them.
I remember once I asked them when they expected to run out of games, they said "Probably around summer of 1997."
Flash forward ten-and-a-half years, and they're still rocking it Turbo style!
-
I just made an order. Bad news; the receipt counted it as the first. Even though its 11:09pm on the 30th. wtf? I live in the same f@$%ing state as tzd! I really hope they give me the 50% off.
-
Hahaha, sucker. They turned their clock forward just for the "last minute a$$holes."
-
ok- i have to laugh at that!
i would like to point out one more thing to anyone who felt they were wrongly charged: visa, amex and i'm pretty sure mc and disc all have a consumer protection policy. if you feel you were screwed, you just return the product and contact the company telling them of it and the merchant will not get paid. it's a little more complicated than that but, from what i see, tzd is still around. if they'd been out to take us all for money, there would have been a lot more bitching going on here.
my own experience with the last sale was that i accidentally submitted an order twice (and the first time was without the '50%' in the order ntoes. i didn't get charged extra, twice or anything else other than what i asked for. just wanted to throw my fair experience into the mix. i hope everything works out for everyone on this.
-
It hasn't shown up on my credit card yet :? I also haven't received the games. THose laggers :x I'll keep you guys posted though :)
-
It hasn't shown up on my credit card yet.
You better send them an e-mail, as they should've charged your card and shipped the following business day. I've had a couple of orders disappear before, even though they e-mailed the automatic order confirmation, so it does happen. You've waited patiently for a week; that's more than long enough.
-
I got my package today ! and I got the 50% discount ! Good ol' tzd has come through for Turbo D 8) I have to say too that I am very pleased with the goods. I purchased riot zone, it came from the desert, a replacement duo pad and a 6' extension cord. I can't wait for their next sale, haha.
-
Play It Came From the Desert as soon as possible.
-
I finally got my order from this sale, I thought I would post my thoughts...
I was charged for the order on November 20, but I never received the package. Supposedly, it was sent the next day via parcel post. I waited a few weeks, then last Thursday I called TZD and spoke with Steve about it, and he asked me to check with my post office to see if perhaps they had the package but held it at the office without delivery and failed to leave me a slip.
After checking with the post office on Monday, I called Steve again and let him know they didn't have the package at the post office. Luckily, he still had everything I ordered in stock and sent my order via priority mail, and it arrived yesterday.
I placed a pretty big order, so I was expecting more of a hassle then I got but he was friendly about it.
The only thing about the order that I didn't really like, other than the big delay, was the duopad I received. Instead of receiving a real duopad, what I got was a Turbopad with a pre-installed duo-compatible cable.
But overall the service was really good despite the delay.
-
I wouldn't call that service when they had you wait like a sucker for 30 days about...
Also,if they really shipped it,they would have filed a claim, not sent you nosing around the post office. Insured packages require the sender to file first, not the recipient. Most post offices don't hold packages unless they are insured and need a sig for the order to be delivered. Any other issues and they would have sent it back to TZD fast anyway.
-
That sucks. Anayway, all's well that ends well ;)

I was willing to check at the post office because it was a big order, and I never have had any problems with tzd orders before.
I don't believe they ever insure their packages or anything. The "second" box was sent priority with no delivery confirmation, no signature confirmation, no insurance, nothing.
But I did get everything I ordered.
-

They actually make that pretty clear on the website under "Details":
"Years ago we ran out of Duo pads. We had a custom cable made, then we've swapped the cable with a Turbo pad and Voila!, a Duo pad. The only thing different from the two was the sticker and the connector. We hope this fix will keep Duo owners playing on!"
...that, and the picture on the website is of a modded pad.
I understand your preference for original hardware, but something tells me that there were far fewer US DuoPads made than TurboPads. And then they had to buy the cable to swap and then go through the trouble of swapping them, and they still charge the same amount.
It seems like the best possible (and fairest) compromise to me.
-

Mike,
I won't comment/disagree on your post about who has to file first (sender or recipient), but the tone of your post as quoted above seems to imply that TZD took his money, kept it, shipped nothing, gave him the runaround, and then finally caved in when he asked about it a month later.
Is that what you mean to say?
-

Rondeau, thanks for pointing that out about the duo pad. I guess if I had really looked closely I would have seen that myself. The duo pad was really a throw in to my order, since I had 4 before getting this one.
Steve was very friendly and professional when I spoke with him. Like I said, other than the delay and the duo pad, I was really happy with the experience. He didn't give me any runaround, he just asked me to look into things before he replaced my entire order, which was a big order. I felt it was totally reasonable.
-
I think that modded duo pad they ship is pretty cool, haha. 8)

When a item is lost in the mail and is insured, the shipper has to start the claim on his end,and while doing so the recipient has to type up/write up a formal statement claiming it never arrived and have it ready for when the shipper starts the claim. In the case of damaged goods, the recipient can take them to the post office, but the sender will still need o do the claim paper work, and sometimes show the value of the item sent, and proof of how much the recipient paid, either on lost or damaged goods.
Master of the obvious you are about my tone towards TZD :P
Yea,thats what they did, thats what they did to my friend,me,alot of others.
My friend had to do a charge back on his credit card because TZD refused to refund the amount charged on our joint order, and place it back on his card, the amount they pulled out without informing us they suddenly ran out of stock on items they assured me they had over the phone. It was a large order also.
They used the excuse,"the boxes were sealed up,and were mis labeled" when people started getting pissed, but that was a farce because the guy had me on the phone while he was supposedly looking into open boxes and counting how many copies were left in them....and it wasn't cardboard I heard him shuffling around,it was plastic cases. Why you ask? Because I asked him if he had enough to do a multiple order and also had enough to last the weekend,as I was originally going to send a money order in via Priority Mail.
Thinking back on it now it was prob just a bunch of TV Sports titles in a box he was shuffling around for good sound fx :P
For more details read prior post on this thread. That Nov sales thing was a sham and a big bridge burning all in one. I did business with them since 1994 but I will never again do so as long as I live.

Two things:
1) TZD didn't make him wait 30 days. He chose to wait that long before contacting them about a possible lost shipment. How would they know that the package didn't get to him?
2) TZD can only file a claim for something that was sent insured, COD, registered with postal insurance, or Express Mail. They don't ship domestically via any of these options (I don't know about international shipments).
Let me add that the craziness of the USPS shouldn't be underestimated. They have plenty of rules to follow, but they are often ignored and seldom enforced. I see carriers smoking in their LLVs and leaving them running while they aren't in them, yet both are strictly prohibited. When a shipment goes missing, it's not unreasonable to ask the postal clerks if they have any unclaimed / undeliverable packages laying about.
Rondeau, thanks for pointing that out about the duo pad. I guess if I had really looked closely I would have seen that myself.
Maybe, maybe not. Their updated website didn't have the description included with the picture until recently, though the old website did.

Jeez, you're one bitter fellow. I'm not saying that you there is no validity to your complaint, but the majority of people on here seem to be satisfied with their TZD dealings, not the other way around.
-
They didn't rip off or screw the majority, but it shouldn't have went wrong period. Honestly,I don't think they shipped his package originally, and yea, I am bitter when they have as of yet refunded my friends credit card on their own. The card company did it them selves via the charge back which becomes permanent in a few days,as they have a 30 day grace period on them. I also didn't like the comments they made about people on the forums here in email replies to my friend and Keranu,as they were shoddy... I wont be surprised if in a few months more LOT and Forgotten Worlds are re-discovered....and back on sale im limited supplies,if TZD is still around.
Also,It wasn't just people on these forums that got screwed, try talking to people on laseractive forums that made orders,a few of them did also.
-

Personally, I don't think the first package was sent either, but Steve was very friendly and professional when I spoke with him and didn't waste any time correcting the problem and getting my stuff to me after I called and spoke with him.
Regardless of any possible shenanigans on the part of TZD, I did get the stuff I paid for and I would order from them again if they had anything I wanted. Although my last order was a big one and took care of just about everything I didn't already have:
Splash Lake
It Came from the Desert
Buster Bros
Implode
Sim Earth
Battle Royale (starring Keranu)
Riot Zone
"DuoPad"
Considering I ordered a lot of stuff, I expected to get a lot more of a runaround, but like I said Steve was very professional with me and took care of the problem.
-
Rag-time,
how did you get ICftD? I didn't see that on their list of games, and I need that one...
-
It Came From the Desert, Splash Lake, and Battle Royale were listed on their old site's welcome page. You could order them by adding a note in the comments section of your order.
Ha-ha, I beat you to the punch, rag-time4.
-
I got it that way too 8)

LOL well you might have beaten me to the punch but I did ok too as none of the games were out of stock.
-
Validus, why are you randomly posting pics of crap, esp in other peoples sales threads?
-
cuz this is a media i dont need to speak in words
You should try as much as possible, out of respect for the other members who started these threads,to stick to subjects related to them, esp when posting in a sales thread, and in their sales thread posting pics takes up space that normal buying/sales posting should be using. If you have nothing at all to offer the subject that stays with it,or if you are not buying or selling anything, then maybe it would be best to start your own thread to post your pics in on a different part of the forums.
-
It Came From The Desert was still available? I would have ordered it. Anyway, I collected my parcel at my parents', where I asked Necromancer to ship it, and I'm really happy with that order. Thanks again to you Necromancer!
