Title: The word "Version"
Post by: Ninja Spirit on November 02, 2007, 11:42:20 AM: I was looking through the comments of one of my old Dracula X videos on YouTube out of boredom one time, and one of those unnecessary "PCE Dracula X is better than SNES version" arguments among American Castlevania fans was going on. (Thanks Konami of America, you really deceived alot of people with the name change.)This has really made me curious now.

Let's really look into the word "version". How loosely do people use it?

They are two totally different games, but two totally amazing games. In this Dracula X (SNES) and Dracula X (SCD) version comparison though it truly is a strange and at times difficult argument. Where as I myself think the SNES game was just OK, and the PC Engine game to be an amazing gaming experience, some others don't see them as all that different. I've shown them to friends and I usually get a 'there pretty much the same game with different level designs' And I go 'WTF??'.

I think thats what this thread is about.....

The word works good.. especially with older games since they had to be "Adapted" to work with the different hardwares and ended up
being different games.

Hell with 'Version.' :lol:
