I'm leaving on vacation to the Ocean in T minus 7 hours, where I will remain until it's time to go back to work next Monday. So Black Friday will be spent relaxing in a rental house, beer in one hand, PCE GT in the other.

Thus, I was forced to vote "Hang out like any normal weekend." since it was the closest choice to my situation.

Man...4 AM may be to late to grab the best deals.  I'm to broke to get the only things that interest me...a 4GB pro duo for my PSP, and a 4GB SD stick for my camera  :(

I'll be working, though there will be nothing to do (just like today).  I envision copious amounts of net surfing and maybe I'll bust out the TurboExpress if nobody's around.

What is black friday?

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving in the US. It's pretty crazy. I remember a couple years ago I was in Manhattan over the Thanksgiving holidays and Black Friday was nuts. People everywhere.  8-[ It was fun though. The whole time I was there though I couldn't find any Turbo gear.  :( I probably just didn't know where to look.

The friday after US Thanksgiving (Canadian Thanksgiving is in October).  Generally considered in the U.S. to be the first official shopping day for Christmas shopping and usually full of killer deals.   Called black friday because that's when stores are starting to see profits and go "in the black".

In Canada, we mostly get all of the killer deals AFTER Christmas, on Boxing day, when stores are trying to clear all of the overstock from the Christmas shopping season.  It's been kinda crappy these past few years though.

When I was a kid, I was wondering why there was a day about boxing (the sport) after christmas, and why everyone had the day off...  When I think it has more to do with boxing as in "putting things in a box".  There are apparently different "origin" stories, but it mostly stem from being a commonwealth country and getting some of the same holidays. :P

In some places, it's also called Green Friday.

I would be working today but I'm too sick to work. :(
