What are your three?
I'm bringing Image Fight, Image Fight 2, and Street Fighter 2 CE
-
No place is that small.
-
The Legendary Axe II, Camp California, and Exile.
-
Hrm... the GoT 3-in-1 would suit me just fine. But if that isn't available...
Parasol Stars
Blazing Lazers
Dracula X
-
Rather than bring my three favorite games, I'd pick titles with the best replay value. And there'd have to be some variety within the trio.
Tenshi no Uta - One of my favorite RPGs. Played through it three times in one week and was up for another go, but there's so much other stuff to play... which wouldn't be an issue in this hypothetical house.
New Adventure Island - The best time-wasting game ever. Fast and fun. Beat it a few dozen times over the last year or so.
Macross 2036 - Fantastic shooter with a soundtrack that I could listen to forever. Different difficulty settings mean different game plans, boosting the replayability. I tore through it about a million times during the first few weeks after I'd purchased it.
-
Dr. Neo 128mb card
SuperHucard
a computer filled with isos and roms
:P
-
gate of thunder
akumajô dracula x
star parodia
-
I'd have to pick:
1. Dracula X: Even though I haven't played the game, I know I'd love it.
2. Gate of Thunder: I don't know, but I think I'd want to bring teh best shmup there is. :P
3. Dungeon Explorer: There has to be a HuCard in the bunch and it might as well be this one. :)
-
Tatsujin, Xevious: Fardraut Densetsu, and Gunhed

Runin, I totally agree with you. I have been playing Street Fighter 2 CE since it came out, and will continue to play it. UC Davis just recently took out their ultracade machine, that had the game on it. There was actually another guy that I ran into regularly and we both played CE.
Image Fight I can't get enough of either.
-
Who the f*ck would move into such a small place? Are you going to prison or something? :-k
1. Dungeon Explorer - best hucard soundtrack with fun for the whole family.
2. Ys I & II - great soundtrack and eminently replayable.
3. Gate of Thunder (US) - so I can cheat and actually take six games, great ones to boot.

It's not that the place is so small but more that I'm going to be sharing a 2 bedroom apt with 1-3 other people.
-
are the 1-3 other people hot college babes? :)
-
Good thread.
My games:
Ys Book I & II - This is a classic that never gets old to me.
J.J. and Jeff - Lots of hidden doors will keep you busy for awhile to find them all, plus trying to perfect all the levels.
Battle Royale - If you're moving into a new place with room mates, then you got to have a multiplayer game. This one is argueably my favorite.
-
I would never move to such a horrible place.
that said, the 3 games would be:
Neutopia
Lords of Thunder
Cadash
-
maybe he doesn't want to be too distracted from his skool work :-k I have a stack of 15 loose hucards that are about the size of a mouse

Yeah that's the idea. It's going to be different, I tell ya. I'm going to be rooming with at least 1 other muslim, possibly 2, and another male roomate.
They've actually got some house rules set up already... no smoking, no alcohol... and any female guests must be approved by ALL roomates (it was capitalized on the rules sheet!)
You would probably hate it Turbo D! I'm hoping it's a good experience for me though. I've never roomed with other guys around my own age (though I am a bit older then the other guys)... so it will definitely be a new experience.
-
Will they let you visit infidel websites like this?
-
Will they let you visit infidel websites like this?
No interenet access in our apartment, but there is a study room in the upper story which I believes has interet access. I probably won't be here as often, though, that's for sure.
But we'll see.
This quarter I've been goofing off way too much on message boards :P I think I'm still going to get A's in all 3 of my classes though. Next quarter I'll be taking 4 and I think 3 of them are upper division so no more goofing around. [-(
-
I probably would hate it, lol. But I too am always up for new experiences. I don't know how comfortable I'd be having females over for the night with 3 other dudes there anyways. They probably have some good stories as to why they must approve of the women you bring over, haha. I guess I could have drinks at parties or bars instead of at home. I'm a pretty considerate drunk I guess, lol :)

Looks like you'll have to hack into someones wifi  Thats great that you're getting A's
-
Living with roommates f*cking sucks. I did it from 2002-2004. I will never, ever do it again.
-
Thats great that you're getting A's Applause
Yeah, that's awesome! 8) Don't be too much of a stranger around these here parts though.
Oh, by the way, has Fighting Street and Japanese Ys arrived yet? I'm starting to worry.
-
For multiplayer purposes, I think I'd bring Puyo Puyo CD, Asuka 120%, and Dungeon Explorer II.
Don't be too much of a stranger around these here parts though.
What he said.

This is the same experience I had. I had to live in a shitty little basement apartment for a year once since it was all I could afford, but it was better then having roommates. Roommates suck no matter who it is.
Good luck to you though. But it doesn't sound like fun to me.
Aaron
-
ys book 1 and 2
lords of thunder
got 3 in one
with those 3 titles i would have 7 games!!
that would rock!
-
Oh yes, I should've remembered that Gates is four games in one! Totally got to cash in on that.
-

Yes, the games you sent arrived! Thank you for sending them out so quickly. Have fun with Ninja Spirit!
And thanks for the kind words!
I heard something about an upstairs study room in my apartment building that has internet access so we'll see.
Cable tv I'm willing to give up.... as well as the bulk of my video game collection... but I'd like to bring at least a couple favorites with me just in case!
-
es, the games you sent arrived! Thank you for sending them out so quickly. Have fun with Ninja Spirit!
Awesome!! I'm so happy the games made it. Playing Ninja Spirit again is so wicked. PC Engine mode is a piece of cake, but the Arcade mode is no so easy. The frustration is already coming back to me. I love it!!
-
Rag, why only three games? Surely your apartment can hold more than 3 games.
-
it surely is just one of those hypothetical "which game i take for the lonely island"-questions.
-

You're right.. I could bring a stack of games...
It's totally self imposed. I've had a really bad habit, inherited from my father in many ways, of trying to make myself happy by buying stuff.
I have a pretty massive video game collection... which really makes me unhappy the more I think about it.
But I still like to play video games. So I'm going to bring a few favorites with me. Bringing my whole collection would, to me, be against the spirit of the pure environment and atmosphere that my muslim roomates are trying to maintain. Not because video games are bad, but because I think that my collecting addiction is not healthy and seeing a huge stack of games every day would remind me of it.
-
Well, maybe you'll apreciate what you have when you go without it for a while.
-

Maybe! It's certainly true that I don't really appreciate what I have.

THEN SET IT ON FIRE!!

Yeah I get the same feeling often, usually thinking how I should've spent less money on games and more money on charity. I have a lot of games I haven't spent much time with (yet) and not sure when I will, and the money I spent on it could've greatly benefited someone who needs it, but it's nice when I do spend time with those games.
-
I pretty much play every game I get. If they suck, they get traded or sold. I get what you dudes are saying though. I actually feel the same way sometimes. I recently put away my collection to take a break from it, haha. Reading your views makes me realize that I'm not alone.
-
Yeah, I find it hard to find the time to play games "guilt free". [-X There's always something more productive I could be doing. But it's better than watching The View or Dr. Phil I guess.
-

I think I'd rather blast off my knee caps with a gun than watch that crap.
-
I think I'd rather blast off my knee caps with a gun than watch that crap. Mr. Green
Haha. You said it.
-
I like the view. Watching girls argue is kinda hot. :-k
-

Yeah, if they're wearing string bikinis and wrestling in a pool of mud. :P
-
Yeah I get the same feeling often, usually thinking how I should've spent less money on games and more money on charity.
Screw charity. The vast majority of money donated to charity goes to the administration of the charity, not to the people the charity is supposed to be helping. Invest in something worthwhile...like video games! :D

True, but it's best to give charity in person to those who need it though.
-
how about you spend your money on video games and then be charitable and send them to me :)

THe only charities I support and donate to are those dedicated to helping animals and shelters that help find homes for homeless pets.

This makes me giggle, and I don't know why. When are you selling off the rest of your collection?

I'm in a similar boat. I only donate to charities that take cats and dogs off the street, cook 'em up, and feed 'em to the homeless; and if I ever find an organization that does it the other way around, I'll donate to them instead.
-
if it was carts- I'd say Photograph Boy, R-Type, and Legendary Axe.
CDs I'd say Dracula X, Star Parodia, and Y's 1 & 2.
I'd change my mind if I really considered it I'm sure.

The first part of your statement makes me a sad panda.
I fully support and endorse the second, however, since homeless street scum are basically worthless tumors on the anus of humanity.
-

Necro, I don't know when I'm selling off the rest, if I decide to do so. Right now, I'm putting my stuff in boxes and I'm going to leave it at my dad's house for the time being.

nat FTW.

The worst part of roommates is that they never have the same appreciation/consideration for your stuff as they do their own. So they may play your games and toss the controller or leave CDs out of the case.
So if it were me in this situation, I'm taking a rugged and little PCE/Core system and 3 HuCards:
- Gunhed/Blazing Lazers
- PC Genjin 2/Bonk's Revenge
- Bomberman '93
My favorite three games overall, CD or Hu, actually :)
But if I was brave enough to bring the Duo:
- Gates 4-in-1 (gets me the Bonk games, a high quality shooter, and the multiplayer classic Bomberman)
- Lords of Thunder
- either Gunhed or Kyuukyuu Tiger
Since it's school, no long RPGs for me. Too easy to get sucked in and blow a shit ton of hours.
-

Hey charity isn't just limited to bums on the street, so that's good too.
-
The only 'charity' I donate to anymore is the ACLU.
-

Hey, I'll donate to the Amorous Co-ed Lesbian University too, they make some of my favorite videos!
-
The ACLU is 1/2 pure f*cking evil, and 1/2 good. They really need someone with some common f*cking sense running operations, half the time I hear about them they're representing a pedophile, murderer, or related scum in some completely ridiculous case.
-

What if they're representing pedophile murderers, and by that I mean murderers of pedophiles? Wouldn't that be good?
-

Nope. If they're dumb enough to get caught, then they don't deserve any help.
-
What are your three?
Tricky Kick, that racing one for hucard (Big Run?), and Energy.
-
My favorite charity is the EFF. Give to the EFF! Now! Do it!
Please?

It's not about the person or the crime, it's about the person's rights. Of course, that ends up getting into "what about the rights of the victim?" struggle, which always sucks. :( The ACLU tries to protect a person's right regardless of what they've done, and their basis is the upholding of the Constitution. I don't think that's evil whatsoever. Sure, they may fight to protect the rights of a complete scumbag, but the lines would blur if there weren't groups like the ACLU around. Before you know it, we'd end up with a "justice" system like in various third-world countries, where people are often butchered with government consent for stealing a loaf of bread because they're dirt-poor or vaguely and unintentionally insulting someone's mother.
-

it would be victory run ;) big run was the big retarded crap on the SFC (actually it was a nice racer on arcade, but one of the worst ever on the SFC).

You want a crappy SFC racing game? Try Accele Brid (not a spelling error). Damn, that game sucks.

Oh yeah, Victory Run. I knew there was a "run" in there some where.
-
If we're talking the only 3 games I get to play for a long time, they'd have to all be questy-
Kabukiden
Dungeon Explorer II
Neo Nectaris
