Hi. I recently got this great catalog with a TurboGrafx-16 CD game I purchased for cheap, and I want to order some stuff from it. What would YOU order from it???

I've already sent lots of money and I'm waiting by the mailbox for the stuff to come.

Splatterhouse Tee, definitely.
but... Turbo green? I don't recall that shade of green on any turbo goods...
-
Dude, I have/used to have that flyer. I think it came with the first TurboGrafx-16 console I got for Christmas 1990. Either that or it came with one of the early games I bought.
I used to have one of those thermoses (the green one) and I always wanted one of those duffel bags. Damn that shit looks dated now.
Oh, and I had one of the Bonk's Adventure t-shirts too.

This image was posted before on either the old Working Design's site or the old Turbo Station site here on PCEFX. Thanks for bringing it back to life because I haven't seen it in years!
I would totally take the Turbo Shades. 8)
-
You wouldn't buy the Bloody Wolf t-shirt? Or the football? Why are you such a H8R?
-
I would buy the Turbo Shades and the duffel bag.

I would rock the entire wardrobe + a mullet whig from Spencers. 8)

Thanks for sharing, Joe. What size is that thing anyway? Does anyone know what the 'turbo-charged gift with every order' was? I'll want one of everything except for the super lame hats, so I suppose that I should order each item seperately to get a bunch of free turbo-charged gifts.
-
I don't remember why or how, but I seem to recall having had the Turbo Football, the green Turbo Hat, and a Turbo Wallet, probably orange. I can't imagine I would have bought them and I'm not sure why my parents would have, but darnit, I'm relatively certain I used to have them.
-
WHAT?? NO FANNY PACK????? garbage!!

My memory is a little foggy because this was almost 20 years ago but I think they just included one of the other, less expensive items. In my case I got the Bonk t-shirt and got the green thermos for free.

Haha! I love it!! I also had that flyer. It came with my TG-16 I also got iChristmas of '89.

heh. I'm totally for the Bloody Wolf t-shirt, though I'm not so sure about the football.
This Turbo stuff is so tubular! 8) I love the neon hats with the rope along the rim. lol The Turbo wallets are cool. Who needs a passport when you have your Klax HuCARD?
But I'm definitely going to the Shirtshack and getting a couple of Turbografx shirts done up. I think a t-shirt with a HuCARD on it would be awesome. Just what HuCARD? :-k

Since they're still copyrighted images, they may give you guff.
if you can get away with it, you could try arranging a bunch of hucards into a heart shape, get a pic of your favorite CD (or eye of the beholder?), and arrange them so it says (eye) (heart) (TG16 logo).
you could do the same for a particular genre, for example, shmups.

Klax. Since it doubles as a passport, it might also double as other types of ID.

I vote for photoshopping Splatterhouse's artwork onto a HuCard. Why are so many HuCards devoid of artwork anyway?

As long as he adds some sort of 'TG-16 Rules' message, then it would fall under fair use for the purposes of commentary and criticism.
-
OK, someone care to explain this whole 'klax as passport' thing?

That would be cool. 8) And yeah, I always wondered why the North American HuCARDs didn't have much artwork. Just another bad decision NEC made with North America. From what I've seen a large portion of the Japanese HuCARDs have artwork on them.

I didn't even think of the copyright issues. #-o That's a good idea Necro. :) I'll just add something to the image.

hehe. If you look at the Turbowallets they have plastic sleeves so you can carry your HuCARDs like credit cards or ID. I was just making a joke that Turbografx fans don't need no stinking passports.

Finally! I haven't seen this flyer for years! I didn't remember all those T-shirt designs, or some of the products (I remembered the wallets! the stupid wallets!)
I'd want all of that stuff, of course.
Anyway, I'm happy to report that I have the Legendary Axe II and Devil's Crush t-shirts. I got them as a freebie from TurboPlay Magazine, or maybe it was from NEC. I can't remember. All I can say was that I thought it was really kool when we got them in the mail, unsolicited.
I still have those beautiful shirts. I wish I had the Splatterhouse t-shirt. I can't remember getting one, but my brother thinks we may have had it. I honestly don't remember having it though.
-
As some here might remember, I bought that Devil's Crush t-shirt off eBay recently :D . I tried bidding on that Splatterhouse t-shirt in the past before too, but lost. Totally rad t's.

Awesome. How much were the shirts going for?
When I used to look for stuff on ebay, I only saw maybe 1-2 shirts over the span of 5 years. Do they come up for auction often?
-
No clue how often they come up, but I got my Devil's Crush T for 10 bucks since no one dared bidding against the moderator  . Don't remember how much the Splatterhouse went for, but I think it was over $20.
-
I recently picked up the Wallet and Duffel bag on ebay. I have owned the Turbo Express fanny pack for some time now (which is on the flip side of that catalog if I remember correctly). I got outbid on the T-shirts several times and was thinking about making my own iron ons.
-
Damn. I somehow forgot that every friggn thing made back then was neon.
I'd get the wallet for holding Hucards. Maybe its just a regular wallet? Either way it looks a lot more well made than those Japanese ones that you got from...Dengeki PC Engine, or some other magazine. I forget.
-
I used to have the Bonk tee, not sure what happened to it, but, I remember it getting tiny on me, today, it'd probably be a tube top on me
I'd get the Bonk, Football, Bloody Wolf shirts, the shades, a wallet or two.
-
I'd make like Micheal Jackson and have it all!

You and me both, man.
I got it for calling the TG-16 hint line in like 1992. Trouble is, I grew a little after that and it got too small. I wore the shit out of it though, but I think I tossed it at some point because I don't have it any more. If only I had known....

Same here!

You wore that to MGC, right? Thought I recognized it...

I would love the shades, too! The funnest part would be matching the colors with other parts of my outfit... :-k
I might use those soft carrying cases from time to time, but generally I like to carry my stuff in something more inconspicuous, like a Coleman food cooler.
Damn. I somehow forgot that every friggn thing made back then was neon.
HAHA Yeah I forgot about that too! But it's certainly true, it was a huge fad for a while during the early 90s!
-
The neon early 90's were awesome!
-
i would order/buy the watch and the Bonks shirt…
but, with my outstanding luck they would have run out of the bonks shirts & send me the TV Sports Football T' instead… :(
i bet theres a couple boxes of those sports t's still somewhere to be found.
