Who cares, it's just another disappointment to add to the LONG LINE of Wii disappointments, it's not really news.
Oh wait, you say it wasn't from a respectable gaming news site, just Kotaku? Oh, that makes sense then!

In all serious though it doesn't bother me.
Makes ya wounder if the delay is cuase by noa not being, ready for the online part :P

Who the hell releases a game on a Sunday? That's f*cking God Day. God will be pissed. Also why would it take so much time to translate the game for the US? Oh yeah, Nintendo now includes French and Spanish in all of their US releases. Next thing you know we'll be just like Europe with 500,000 different languages in our instruction manuals.
Not that I care as I do not want this game.

I LOL'd and agreed with this post. Brawl really isn't worth the hype. 0MG SONIC WOOT. Not.

I kinda think it's a good thing that games get delayed so they can be perfected as much as possible before going out the door (and I'm not just saying this because of Mysterious Song!). I'm looking forward to it.
-
Why even bother to set a release date in the first place? I don't think that should be done until it is final final final.

Who cares? Just play Melee for a month, and then buy the same game with improved graphics and Sonic - now that's what I call innovation!

Hey, that gives me an idea... :-k

Not sure if you've been keeping up with the update, but Brawl sounds like to be a pretty huge sequel. Characters now have supers like in 2D fighting games, way more characters, stages (more interactive ones too), items, online play, and new game modes. This is how a sequel should be made.

It's a bunch of hype. I won't deny that it will be a good game, I won't deny Melee was a good game, but I also won't deny that I love real fighting games better. Smash Bros. is just way to kiddie and not really that fun, plus it lacks the fighting game aesthetic. Also f*ck HAL for never making a REAL Kirby game for the Gamecube. And also f*ck them for butchering Arcana for the US release. And f*ck them for making Hyperzone so damn awesome that that one lady let her kid die from neglect while she beat the game.
And f*ck me for making that last part up. But Hyperzone rules.
-
But Hal's Hole in One Golf sure doesn't. I used to think it ruled but HOT DAMN did that game ever age poorly.

It may be a bunch of hype, but a good game is a good game. And I agree, I like "real" fighting games better, but it's not supposed to be like real fighting games. It's just a straight up fun, easy to play game, which quite frankly, are how games are supposed to be.

I agree that it should be a good sequel. My point was that Melee is also good and should easily tide anyone over for a month; there's no reason for anyone to get all riled up when a game is delayed for a whopping four weeks. The 'innovation' jab was just me being tired of hearing the fanboys (not directed at anyone here) that keep saying how innovative the Wii is - gimme a freaking break already. Sure, the motion sensing is creative, but it's pointless and inferior to 'normal' controls most of the time.

Japanese people are playing Brawl RIGHT NOW and we aren't.

This is like another Pearl Harbor! Smash Borhter s ii ashgreata@!!!!!!

I love the new Sonic Green Hill Zone stage added to this game. There were some other neato levels shown recently too.
-
I want some NATO levels
Fighting while Soviet tanks are streaming through the Fulda Gap
But yes, Green Hill Zone is great and it continues Sega's new tradition of making anything available to anyone for a price

They added Solid f*cking Snake to this game! That alone makes it worth the pickup! Where the hell is Capcom and their third party support? Throw in f*cking Mega Man! Throw in f*cking Jill Valentine!
-
^^ Ugh, please no awesome Capcom characters in this f*cking awful, retarded franchise. It's bad enough Sonic is in there, please leave Capcom's characters alone.
-

They won't not afther what happen with (RE4) for the gc version not being a exclusive and going to the ps2.
I hear nintendo is still bitter over that and it's...unlikely they pay the rights to do so.

Yeah please don't throw in Capcom characters because they'll just be 10 year old graphics that the designers were too lazy to update.
-
Capcom characters can't be in it, Dante would demolish everyone with his devil powers!

They'll fit right in on the Wii then which features 10 year old graphics.
-
I guess on second thought, Solid Snake would blow all the shit up.

At least Nintendo bothered to update their character models, something Capcom needs to take a lesson of.

My exact thoughts (half-jokingly, that is).
-
how does the wii nights compare to the saturn nights graphically?
-
I'm sure it trounces it. I haven't actually played it though.
If it doesn't, something is wrong in the world.
-
The graphics look better, but certainly not leagues better. From what I've seen there is a MUCH better draw distance and the textures are higher resolution. Probably an increased polygon count as well. But the overall aesthetics are very similar. The music is inferior to the first game.

Well "technically" speaking it would blow it away, but that would be silly :P . Graphically, Journey of Dreams adds a lot more depth to the levels, but it doesn't mirror the floor and sky like the original, which kind of departs the style, but overall it does a decent job recreating it. I thought the music, sound, and controls reflected the original game very well though.
The music is inferior to the first game.
Probably, but not by much I'd say. I think JoD really did a good job recapturing the musical style.
