Yeah that sounds about right. :D I haven't had a lot of money to collect games with. Plus I plan on keeping this thread updated anyways...got one update to make now, as I just scored an unopened R-Type on ebay. Woot! :D

bgarske: I bid on three of them, but the Exile you have up is the original, which I already have (and spent $80 on).

EDIT: Snagged a CF2 thanks to a tip by vestcoat. :D

gekioh: if you could get them back, how much would you charge for them?

Oh yeah, and just snagged a couple from vestcoat, taking the list down two more items. Almost at 20% completion! Woot

Damn...the guy who had CF2 says he can't find the disc, so he's going to give me a refund. Oh well. However, I easily won the bid for the sealed Fantasy Zone from redfrogusa...well, this is it, folks...the payment is made, now to see how well it works out.

What was the final total on that Fantasy Zone?

They will prob behave for a bit considering all the fuss in the other thread,so that prob worked out to your benefit as far as them handling the deal well.

No one else bid on the Fantasy Zone so I got it for $9.99 + $7.95 shipping. Shipping was a little high, I feel.

People who leave retaliatory feedback piss me off. This one jackass who I bought a Bonk's Revenge and Splatterhouse combo from left me a "neutral" with SCREEM IN UR FAEC FEEDBAK. The item was not as described, as I wrote in my Positive feedback for them:

"BR was not CIB and neither cart were mint, but both work. I'm satisfied."

and so in return, I got this neutral feedback:

"NEXT TIME ASK....YOUR NOT IN THE USA & AD DIDNT SAY I WOULD OUTSIDE USA...HELLO"

So, I sent the idiot this message:

"Retaliatory feedback is unethical. And besides, I am indeed in the USA. You sent it through domestic mail, and domestic mail cannot be sent to foreign addresses. Because of your unprofessional attitude and unwarranted retaliatory feedback (not to mention the improper description in your auction...the B in CIB means "Box", which the game didn't contain, and NEITHER were anywhere near mint condition), I will never buy from you again."

Well, at least the shithead didn't leave a negative, and there was actually no reason for a neutral to begin with...they only left it because my feedback was too honest. Well sorry dipshit, when you tell me you've got a MINT! item, I expect to receive a MINT! item and I'm not going to lie about it.

Add that to another one of your ebay deals gone bad. You can leave a followup on his feedback to let people know what he did btw.
Title: Re: Looking to complete my collection...
Post by: nodtveidt on January 23, 2008, 04:35:30 PM
Yeah, took me a bit to figure out how to do that. So, I left this remark:

"Lied about item condition & failed to understand US geography. Won't buy again."

Won my first item from Linda, the one everyone here seems to refer to as the "creepy old lady"...a 100% complete copy of Neutopia for $51 plus shipping. That's the second highest price I've ever paid for a game on ebay, it overtakes the previous $43 second-place bid.
Title: Re: Looking to complete my collection...
Post by: Michael Helgeson on January 24, 2008, 04:48:14 PM
Ugg,makes me wonder if I should just list my Neutopia 1 and 2 together on ebay as a lot auction.
Title: Re: Looking to complete my collection...
Post by: nodtveidt on January 24, 2008, 05:34:31 PM
That's not such a bad idea, they both command a pretty high price on ebay these days.
Title: Re: Looking to complete my collection...
Post by: nodtveidt on January 27, 2008, 09:32:33 AM
Just won a large lot of games on ebay for a very sweet price...it comes out to about $6.70 per game with a console thrown in for free! :D This, together with three auctions I had won a couple of hours earlier, reduced my "wanted" list by 21 games, which now stands at 84 titles.

Two more lot auctions clean-swept, including one by vestcoat, who I hope is the same vestcoat here at the forums. Just one more lot tonight (ending in about a half an hour) and then two more auctions for single games over the next couple of days and I'm done bidding for now. I've managed to pass 50% completion now, so that's a major milestone. I'm going to have a lot of dupes, and I'll offer any that I have to forum members here before I list them on evilbay.

Jesus man, I expect you to have the entire US collection by the end of the week.

Badass, dude.
And yes, I'm the same vestcoat.

BTW, if any of y'all have leads on the rotten SOB who stole vestcoat@gmail.com, let me know.  I've been rocking this handle on hotmail and ebay for ten years and cyberspace ain't big enough for the two of us...

My wife says "maybe by the end of next month". :D

Well, after these final three auctions, I'm stepping off for a bit; I've tied up enough cash for now, easily going through over $600 in the last week, and that doesn't count the close to $300 I spent the week prior. I actually hope I get outbid on my final auction, as I already have all four of the games the auction comes with. My bid isn't too high, so it might happen.

But yes...I will eventually be able to say "hey look, I have the entire US collection". And then I will list it on ebay for $9,999.

The last auction of the day was won with a vengeance. The snipers tried once again and failed once again. These jokers should learn that if adosorken is the highest bidder, there's no beating him. :D

My dealing with redfrogusa went off without a hitch. They could have packaged my game better, considering how much I paid for shipping, but it arrived intact and was minty fresh, still wrapped up in its original shrinkwrap, no rewrap bullshit.

The games have been trickling in slowly...now I'm mainly waiting for the big lots.

Prince Of Persia, Shadow Of The Beast, and Dead Moon showed up, plus there's one package too big for my mailbox that I have to pick up tomorrow. The small purchases are almost all here now. When I get everything, I'll probably sell off some of the duplicates if anyone's interested.

Rover--Your package went out before five today.  You should get it pretty quick.

Post by: nodtveidt on February 06, 2008, 12:48:45 AM
Okay, thanks vestcoat.

The 14 game lot showed up today, making way for my first group of duplicates to be sold. However, since I'm pulling out of ebay once the new changes are instated, I'm not going to be listing them there. My company is working on a video game auction site of our own; no word on DWJ's site so I'm to assume he's ditched the idea unless someone has evidence to the contrary.

MurderDate: Yes, I have your game here :D but I'm going to wait until I have my second copy of it to make the deal on it.

I forget who else I was going to deal with, I think it was Sinistron...DM:TQ and the 3-in-1.

what else ya got to get rid of rover?
Title: Re: Looking to complete my collection...

It is quite amazing; my collection is larger than it's ever been, far larger even than when these games were sold brand new on the market. I already filled up my small CD rack with games.

what else ya got to get rid of rover?
At the moment...not much, really.

Loose HuCards:
Splatterhouse
Blazing Lazers

In original case with manual:
Neutopia
Bonk's Revenge

And of course, a copy of Keith Courage, but that will probably go out with any systems I decide to sell on our new auction site, scheduled to open in early March.

Sinistron: I'll PM you my paypal addy. Did we work out the price already? I don't remember...

The mighty Terraforming has fallen from the list! To make matters sweeter, it's a sealed copy! I also picked up a few other titles tonight. This brings the completion list to under 60 titles to go.

In a matter of days you went from nothing, to owning more US titles than myself. And I'm leisurely working towards the same goal. At the rate I'm going I'll be there by 2011.

Got quite a few more auctions going on, including some mixed lots that will bring duplicates for either resale or helping others here complete their collections. Down to 56 titles left...the well's starting to dry up as many of the remaining titles don't come around very often.

Less than 50 titles to go. This is starting to get rather difficult. :D
