Striking while the iron's hot, eh?  The dumb bitch was drunk, uncooperative, and combative; she got what she deserved.  It's real simple folks, comply with the officer's commands and he'll treat you a lot better (usually).

It was over the top. Especially after she sobered up and they brought her back to her cell. There really wasn't any need of that. And charging her for assaulting a police officer? She didn't even touch them. But you are right Necro - generally if you want to be treated good by the police don't cause a ruckus.

I bet I can tell you what happened.

Police take girl from station and drive her home.  On the way she asks them why they detained her, during the course of this conversation she insults the officers and calls them pigs or something.  The officers remember an obscure part of a law and they take her back to "show her who's boss".  Kicking off a shoe really is an offence in many jails and prisons which has stiff punishments as well.

Yes what happened shouldn't, but the police do not consider ignorance defense under the law.

My real question is why did it take 3 years for them to file this complaint?

Who knows how long it took her to acquire a video tape of what happened.  Maybe it took her years to deal with it as well.  A lot of people at the age of 15 have never really had anything terrable happen to them, I could see it being a shocking experience if you had not faced adversity in your life already.

That's awesome that Canada has white trash too, look at that f*cking disgusting mother in that one picture where they're both pretending to be super sad about it.  Nothing trashy people love more than playing victims.

Haha. Do we ever have white trash.

Witness the Trailer Park Boys made here in Halifax, NS: (it's funny 'cus it's true lol)

About the girl though, I find it hard to believe that it takes 3 cops to suppress a 15 old girl. But yeah, part of me feels that she half deserved it. She was probably being a royal pain in the ass. Just a little restraint on behalf of the cops would have been nice.

I was being sarcastic funny, cause we all know all teens feel like victims, yet they tend to do it all to themselves whenever  a situation occurs. I agree with Guts too, awesome to see Canada has the white trash also. I bet they are banking on getting cash and buyin a new trailer and a shopping spree at the Goodwill,or whatever version of that there is in Canada, and more booze for the daughter with the drinkin prob.

Me too, that's why I sympathize with this girl (to some small extent). While she sure looks and sounds like a royal bitch, I've been at the mercy of cops before and had some pretty nasty shit go down. And no, I wasn't drunk. There is a real feeling of helplessness when you're in that situation. I mean, who do you call?

I'm pretty sure I posted some stories in another thread a while back.

I can't believe nobody in that video had a French accent.  I thought it was required by law in Canada to have a pussified French accent.  All hockey players do (they are fun to laugh at).

haha. Oh my. The only provinces in Canada that you'll find a predominance of French accents is in Quebec and New Brunswick (Nouveau Brunswick  :P). Not too many French in British Columbia. As for the hockey players, yeah a lot of the great hockey players are, and have been, French. The Montreal Canadiens have won the most Stanley Cups by a long shot.

Here is some Canadiana. Joe will have a fun time laughing at the French accents. lol But this video is ingrained in the minds of all Canadians. It was always on TV when I was a kid. It's a funny little story though actually.

Yeah, I know eh? It's probably because it was taken from a VHS recording or something.

As for the UKyoutube, I noticed that as well, but I know nothing of what's going on there.

I actually haven't seen the movie yet.  :-k I remember when they were filming the movie they were outside my work for a few days doing some scenes. One of the characters of the show is in a band with me - Cory: he's one of Ricky's lackies on the show. The band we're in is a horror movie soundtrack cover band. lol  It's pretty fun though. We cover 28 Days Later, Halloween, Susperia, Dawn of the Dead, etc...

Anyways, you could probably download some shows off the internets. Most people say that they like the show more than the movie. I'll decide for myself when I actually see the movie.

I have actually seen that. (I heard about it shortly after it happened; I listen to As It Happens almost every day)
The difference is, up there, people got upset; down here, people's reaction would be 'why didn't he just learn english!'

Yea,you know,I was kinda wondering myself why he didn't just learn english. Without english ability he just looked like  a mumbling, fumbling crazed psycho tossing shit while making primitive grunts and moans. Clearly the english language separates us from the animals.

Really? Cool.  :) CBC Radio1 is the radio station.

As for English separating us from the animals, us anglophones have tried to tell that to the Francophones, but they just won't listen.  [-(

I wouldn't know; my local NPR station syndicates that show, and nothing else from Canuckstan.

That's awesome man! I remember who Cory was, I loved those lackies! I hadn't seen the show before, so I saw the movie first without knowing anything about it and it came out of nowhere with huge laughter. I saw little bits of the show (and some stand up comedy skits) after I saw the movie, but really need to watch the show now. Does the show ever feature his homemade cup made from a 2 liter of Coke?

That's cool. But yeah, I'm not just saying it cus I'm from Canuckistan (well maybe a little heh), but CBC Radio One is awesome. You can listen to it on the CBC website whenever you want. Overnight CBC plays radio from Sweden, Australia and some other countries.

Here's the timezone listings:

Some cops are dick heads, but if you've ever known a cop personally you'd understand why a lot of them turn into complete shit cocks.  My best friend's brother used to be a patrol officer or whatever in the LAPD and he had endless, crazy f*cked up stories about what they had to deal with all day.  He said it usually took about than 2 years for a new cop to go from bright eyed & wanting to make a difference to a totally f*cked up in the head, divorced, angry mother f*cker.

No doubt, but the LAPD is also the most corrupt and screwed up police force in North America.

...and that is why I decided to do a second major in political science as well as getting my PR advanced diploma. My first major was criminology - I wanted to join the RCMP, but in the end I decided that I wanted to have a "normal" life.
