Did anyone else see Magical Chase on ebay? I didn't see the ending price but when it had one day left it was almost $500 (like 485) and it had like 20 bids on it... seems a lil crazy to me especially sinced I played it on an emulator and it didnt' seem that great. I know its rare but man 500 dollars??? That has to be one of the most expensive video games ever.

Yea, I was following that one closely too and it was crazy. The seller said he'd pull the auction if it didn't meet his "personal" reserve...which I think happened. I wonder how much he was looking at?
I read the most expensive game ever on Ebay for Turbo was Darius Alpha (PC Engine limited release, not commercially released). It went for over a $1000!?

that's crazy, I wonder if those really pricey games are worth it in terms of game play....anybody ever play darius alpha?
-
I've played the ROM. Didn't get to far using the bloody keyboard! It seems cool, but it's price is strictly because of the collector's factor.

Which Version was it? US or japanese?
Chris

It wasn't released in North America. Japanese version.

It was and is very expensive, the ads in press (EGM etc) at the time were quite nice.

I thought he was talking about Darius Alpha, in which case I'd still be correct :D You're right about Magical Chase though. So I guess we both win

Heh yeah he was talking about Darius Alpha, teach me to not read the thread properly :D

That rare Darius game blows chunks man. I love that series and that game just made me sick to look at and think they were pleased with the end results. :?

When the american version was released, I just rented the game... how could I imagine at the time that it would become one of the rarest turbochips? Man oh man, how I regret that I didn't buy it back when I had the chance...

Alpha is just the boss trick from Super Darius.
So if you want to play an enhanced version of the lowly $1000 hucard, just pick up Super for $10, do the trick and enjoy the game with CD Music.

I bought it brand new for $10 Canadian back in the day. The Turbo had been discontinued or was fading out, but its been my main console ever since the Turbografx debuted.
I believe that I also picked up Might & Magic III with MC for the same price and a spare Duo Tap & Pad for $5 each.
