Title: Well, at least my PC-Engine case is here at least
Post by: MissaFX on February 06, 2008, 10:08:50 AM
The case I settled on came out to 50 dollars with shipping.

It is 19.7” Length x 10.25” Width x 4.5” Height.  Not too big, not too small.  And it is also 5 dimensional inches below the limit for an airline carry-on.

I have been messing around with configurations and using a CD case as a CG stand-in, I believe I will be able to store:

The CG II
AC adaptor
Video cable
A stack of games
1 PC-E controller (I could put in two if they were one on top of the other)
1 PS1 dual shock controller
1 multi tap
1 PS1 --> PC-E converter (I could fit 2 like with the PC-E controller, but I would have to carry the 4th controller outside of the case).

You can purchase it here: Link to Store (http://www.casesgalore.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=28)

I hope it arrived.  That's a hell of a long time. Too long by any stretch of the imagination.  [-(

That's a cool case though. I'd love to have something like that, but for my Juno G synth. Right now all I have is a soft gig bag. It does the trick, but you still have to be really careful when carrying it around. With something like that there's no worries at all.

--Now that I think about it, a hard case like that for my North American Turbo Duo would be awesome as they're not the sturdiest things in the world.

Anyway Missa, I really hope your prize arrives soon. You've waited far too long.  :(

edit: I just checked out the store. Hilarious that it's actually a gun case. lol.  8) Who needs to pack heat when you have a coregrafx?

Yeah, and the 41 days listed there are the in shipping days, the total wait time is 46 days.  Hit Japan has not responded to me in the last 72+ hours since I told them the tracking number they gave me was being reported as invalid by the Japan Post website.

But I have everything else but a multi-tap now...and well a CG...

If you're referring to Mr. French NeoMars he dicks around with peoples money.

I had a good experience with ebay seller neomars13. He sold me an original complete Ginga Fukei for under $300.

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but there is no way that case should have been $50.00 shipped.  I have that same exact case minus the foam, which can be picked up from several places.  Mine was sold as a "briefcase," and total with shipping was $22.00 to $25.00 if I recall correctly.

Worse ones on ebay cost more and there is nothing like it locally, I'm happy.

Pfft, you could've saved yourself time and money by just getting one of these:

Just use your Game Gear Sports Pack bag without the plastic insert like regular people do

All consoles magically fit inside of that thing

Of course, it's one of the bags I use to pack my games with when I go the MGC!

The case I got came in two of those in fact.  When I purchased the CGII though, it was with the intention of it being my portable console.  That is why I need a more durable case than: (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2346/1569564388_b78bf7c95f.jpg)

Nice looking case, Missa.  For my Express, I use one that's a bit thicker and plain black abs.  It ain't as fancy, but it was only $10 at Wally World.

Walmart was one of the places I looked, but I didn't feel confident using any of the cases they had, they just seemed a bit too cheap.  Fred Meyer had some promising stuff, but their cases were a lot thicker than what I needed and not long enough.  After all the places I looked locally I am sure I spent 30 dollars on gas. ](*,)  Maybe I am just too much of a perfectionist at times, but I usually like my end results.

hehe. I think you made a good choice. If you drop that sucker down a flight of stairs you'll have nothing to worry about. In the end it comes down to what makes you feel secure that your little baby isn't going to get smashed. You actually have me thinking about getting something like that for my Turbo Duo. The Duo is a fragile little beast and could use something like that, especially with the foam. - I assume you just cut the foam out to fit whatever you're putting in.

Oh, but first and foremost, your case looks cool.  8) Certainly cooler than those neon green Turbogear bags.

Yes, I am going to cut the foam to fit my exact needs, but I am waiting for the CG to arrive so I can cut its place first and base everything around that and where the power supply will have to go.
