You may know that many french are crazy about the PC Engine, here is an illustration of this statement :

The ultimate RGB modded DUO, that can read both PC Engine and Turbografx Hucards.
This was an idea of a member of our french forums, Boby Jack, and was designed by Kotomi, a guy who tunes video gme systems.
Enjoy :P

Damn, that's pretty awesome. Thanks for posting.

That's pretty damn awesome looking.

That is very good looking!

Cool!
The Famicom built into a NES cart is pretty cool also.
-
the PCE looks worlds better dressed up with a little bit of color !
-
Wow! I was just thinking last night what the US Duo would look like dressed up in white. This, however, takes that thought to a whole new level. I love it! He even went to the extent of dressing up the controllers. It looks fantastic.
Edit: Duh, I just noticed the coolest feature of this Duo - the dual HuCARD slot. lol. I immediately watched the video and didn't notice the two separate slots. That is absolutely phenomenal.
-
Now, that looks pretty nifty! That's such a beautiful color of white for it, also :P.
Below, there was also a "Fami-cart", a switcher cable for the Mega Drive, a "Nintendo Nestation", and an "SNES Pete Rock" to be noted of.
Kotomi had done a great job with all the moderations he's/she's done.

This actually is the main feature of this DUO as that was what Boby Jack -the owner of the DUO who got this idea-wanted. ;)

Yeah. I was just so enamoured with the paint job that I over looked it. hehe But You gave me a chance to practice my French. Reading stuff in French about Turbo/PCE stuff makes it a hell of a lot more interesting. lol
Thanks again for the link. That has to be the coolest Duo in the world.
-
Nice. I would like to have a completely white Duo-R.
-
I'm not fond of the paint splatters on the "ultimate Duo", but otherwise it is quite nice, being able to play US and JP cards as well as being modded for RGB. But is it perfect RGB or is it the ol' standard "vertical lines" RGB? Also can it play SuperGarfx cards? It needs to. That question is probably already answered, so I'll go read up more on this.
EDIT: I can't read that since I don't speak French.
-
Whoa, didn't notice the dual HuCard slot until shubibinman mentioned it! That's pretty rad (shoulda went for triple!), maybe that's why they removed the HuCard door, aside from aesthetics maybe. Or maybe they just plain didn't have one.
-
It's a great idea, but the controller and left side of the Duo look like Hudson vomitted on it. I'll take my Duo plain-jane, thank you very much.

Looks like a WIP version is visible in this pic at the top:

That thing looks out of place next to all those Nintendo systems.
-
I love the functionality part of it , but not so much external mods :-s.
Reminds somewhat of how people completely f*ck their cars up with out-of-place stickers, spoilers that look like shopping cart handles, etc.
That NES-cart famicom system is pretty damn cool.

Agreed - who wants a riced out Duo? I'd also pass on the dual HuCard slots, as installing a region switch and keeping the HuCard slot door would look much cleaner. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose; it's just nice to see people giving the ol' Duo some love.
-
I love the guys NES in a cart though! I wish I could buy one of those off ebay.

Vertical lines RGB? What do you mean? I have never seen vertical lines RGB, but I have seen vertical lines composite (my damn Famicom!). My Duo-R does not output vertical lines RGB, obviously from what I said a few moments ago.
And, that Famicom cartridge was really cool. I think I will steal his idea and make my own. :P Famicom clone pcbs are really tiny nowadays. Shouldn't be too hard to make one of those things. :)
-
I have an S-Video modded Duo RX and it has some very faint vertical lines.
That a cool Duo mod on its own, but I'd still prefer a region switch on my main unit.
-
Yes, they are very faint and can't really be seen in all games. I mostly notice it when the games scroll at a certain speed.
-
Maybe you have the bad amp. Like the one at Gamesx?
-
Yeah, I didn't notice how thick the modded Duo is on the other pics. It doesn't look terrible, but I like my Duo slim.
-

I use the same transistors as the GamesX one, but that's it. I don't use any resistors or capacitors... literally just a transistor in each RGB line. Anyway the vertical lines is a known issue (not just with that amp) and I think there is some mod you can do to the board itself (not the amp) to eliminate it.
