:) :-k :) :-k :)       :) :-k :) :-k :)
Hey we just were doing this on the shout-box so I figured it had to be threaded- Tat has his hands full with his Five Best Systems thread so I'm doing the duty...
Rules are simple!
Poll's open for two weeks just like Tat's thread-
Must list ten hucard games in number order- 1 being the best-
If you're gonna say "I don't have a top ten" then there's really no reason in posting :)-
If you haven't by some weak chance actually played ten hucards then fill in using which ones "look" the best-
Please do not list a game on your top ten more than once!
Unless agreed upon radical differences- (eg. Doraemon and Cratermaze) the japanese versions will count as the American versions (given there's both)-
No honorable mentions or anything of the like-
and finally- think this through! It may help to actually look at your hucards or list of hucards. Please do not laboriously give me ten different games in ten different posts- that will only make this more time consuming when it comes to tallying-
RANKING ADDENDUM
The top ten will be determined by rank points- 10 points for 1st place picks, 9 points for 2nd place picks and so on. I don't like ties- so if there are ties within the top ten then the game with more appearances on posters' lists will be ranked above the one or however many it has "tied" with.
that said- here's mine...
1- The Legendary Axe
2- Dragon's Curse
3- Parasol Stars
4- New Adventure Island
5- Soldier Blade
6- Photograph Boy

3. Dead Moon
4. Cadash
5. Parasol Stars
6. Neutopia II
7. Jackie Chan
8. Air Zonk
9. Sinistron
10. Sidearms
Sinstron named himself after a game :P? I had no idea that it was a shooter that was called Violent Soldier in Japan until I've checked it out on the PC Engine Software Bible. This is just as big as a suprise as finding out that Tatsujin and Necromancer were named after PC Engine titles.

Here's a list, in no particular order:

Bonk 3
Sinistron
Psychosis
Afterburner II
Download
Samurai Ghost
If more people don't start adding Space Harrier to their top 10 lists the ban hammer is going to see some action.
It would probably be a good idea to put them in a particular order so that Sinstron is able to register and tally them more properly.
Eee ! Keranu told me, however, that moderators aren't allowed to ban anyone, so I shouldn't really be too afraid of this. Wait...You're not planning to get PCEngineFX to do the banning work for you, are you 8-[?
I'm pretty sure he's only joking.
-
1. Dungeon Explorer

3. Soldier Blade
4. Military Madness
5. Bomberman '94
6. Dead Moon
7. Splatterhouse
8. Cadash
9. Bonk's Revenge
10. Time Cruise
If more people don't start adding Space Harrier to their top 10 lists the ban hammer is going to see some action.
I still haven't picked this one up, so I can't add it to my list. Can you make the ban temporary? :)
-
I'm assuming this list is for your top ten favorites and not what you think are the top ten best right? I'll go with my favorites:
1. ) J.J. and Jeff (obviously)
2. ) Cadash
3. ) Bonk's Revenge
4. ) Dragon's Curse
5. ) Blazing Lazers
6. ) Motoroader
7. ) Battle Royale
8. ) Obacchama Kun
9. ) Street Fighter II
10. ) Dodge Danpei
I don't like making lists, so I'd probably change my game order around if I did it again, but I'll stick with that for now.

3) Blazing Lazers
4) Mr Heli
5) Detana! Twinbee

5. Klax

7. Altered Beast
8. Double Dungeons

I forgot about Military Madness. 8) My list has been revised.
-
Hey Nat can I get a ranking order on that list? :P
1.) Xevious: Fardraut Densetsu
2.) Gunhed
3.) Tatsujin
4.) Side Arms
5.) Raiden
6.) Salamander
7.) Soldier Blade
8.) Galaga 88
9.) Daisenpu
10.) Kyukyoku Tiger
Awesome to see an all shooter list- and since Side Arms and Salamander both have vertical parts-
It can be said that this is an all vertical shooter list- which is even sweeter, IMO.
-
Hey Nat can I get a ranking order on that list? :P
No.
But you'll probably rank it anyway, so just take it as the order it's listed. The #1 game is right, anyhow.
-
Here is mine:
1) Soldier Blade
2) Super Star Solider
3) Street Fighter II
4) Ninja Spirit
5) Aero Blaster
6) Air Zonk
7) Bonk's Revenge
8) Bonk's Adventure
9) Splatterhouse
10) Bomberman 94
-
just for the record- I caught Black Tiger's revision- but I can't promise that I can catch other revisions since I'm tallying these as they come
UNLESS your revision is not made to the original post- because if it is then I can't see what game I'm supposed to draw the points from. If you absolutely must - then please make a new post with your old list and your new list so I know how to change it- only if you must! This can get taxing! =P~
-

I guess I'll state my reasons for why DE gets the #1 spot, besides the fact that it's an awesome game. :P Dungeon Explorer took advantage of all the TG-16 had to offer.
Graphics - DE is colourful and detailed. The intro sequence showing the landscape always blows my mind. 8)
Music - For a system that wasn't known for it's sound capabilities, DE can shut up any nay-sayers with it's awesome soundtrack.
Multiplayer - Not only is the game fun with one player, but you can have up to 5 times the fun with your friends. I spent many a late night with friends playing this game at sleepovers. It really felt like an adventure.
DE gets my #1 vote.

Jimid am I scoring "adventure island" as New Adventure Island or as Dragon's Curse? Normally it'd mean the japanese Dragon's Curse but I see that all your other games have the american names so I'm not so sure... :-k

Ok, many of these games I have played for 5 minutes, some multiple 5 minute sessions on magic engine.
Download Ootake and you can play without a time limit. Interface is different, but overall emulation quality is as good or, in the case of sound, sometimes better.
-
1. Parasol Stars
2. Blazing Lazers
3. Bonk's Revenge
4. Dungeon Explorer
5. Street Fighter II'
6. Aero Blasters
7. Devil's Crush
8. Legendary Axe
9. Cadash
10. Soldier Blade
This is based on my memories of play with actual HuCards. I'm not including a few titles I enjoyed via emulation, like Neutopia I/II or Dragon's Curse.
-
Well that's 25 posters so far in two days-

-
This is now one week old and it's dried up like Grandma's withered cooch. And my Grandma's been dead for as long as I can remember. Come on forkers- one more week- let's get some dang votes in. :-"

1.Bomberman '93

4.Cadash
5.Bonk's adventure
6.Alien Crush
7.Space Harrier
8.Dungeon Explorer
9.Cratermaze
10.R-type

Umm... Have to think about it.
I was a bit of a CD snob. I wasn't too impressed initially with the TG-16 when it first came out. I only got into the TG when the Duo was released and I first started the experience with GoT, and Y's I & II. In time, I got to appreciate the HuCards.
1-Soldier Blade
2-Shockman
3-Neutopia II
4-Military Madness
5-Sommer Assault
6-Order of the Griffon
7-Motoroader
8-Bomberman (Classic battle mode with no gimmicks for the win)
9-Blazing Lazers
10-Parasol Stars
I've been honestly trying to rack my brains on a PCE-only HuCard that I would put on the list, but I'm drawing a blank.
Edit: since a raking and selection of a Bomberman was insisted upon.
-
td- if you don't add a number order then by default I'll add them in the order you have- the highest getting ten points and the last getting 1 point. Hey man I definitely don't mind giving Soldier Blade ten points!
Also I can't tally up "any bomberman"- please pick one.
-
Edited my post with requested changes. Sorry, missed the first few pages of the thread so I didn't know the specific rules... :P
-
Why are you only tallying after 2 weeks? Why don't you keep a running tally on the first post and just update it when someone adds info? We can sticky this thread to keep it relevant.

I took that off of Tatsujin's top five systems thread- I believe his thread was lasting for two weeks-
anyway-
1)
I wouldn't mind extending it- but a running tally bastardizes the whole thing-
once the people who have yet to vote see what the running tally is-
then they may feel an inclination to vote in a way that they wouldn't normally have in order to put a stronger influence on the top three.
2)
A continuous tallying is more than I signed up for.
-
Hmm, my top ten hopefully counts for something.
10.) Vigilante
09.) Double Dungeons
08.) Bonk's Revenge
07.) Silent Debuggers
06.) Bomberman (Original)
05.) Neutopia
04.) Splatterhouse
03.) Legendary Axe
02.) Super Star Soldier
01.) Bonk's Adventure
Probably a screwy list, but there you have it.
-
So, when does this list get compiled?
