I know many of you have this game. Please tell me your opinion. I'm about to get this game as it's my favorite arcade games in early 90's :)
-
I don't own this game (for good reason). I only heard that it isn't really good. So be careful, don't pay too much.
-
I got few comments from other PC Engine players/collectors and Saint Dragon is pretty much like a decent but unimpressive shooter.
The game will cost around $20 so it's alright..................
-
Wow......I found my old thread back in 2004! And I still haven't had Saint Dragon hucard :)
-
lol
-
damn 2004 that was like 10 lifetimes ago!! hehe
-
whoever says it isnt really good is a f*cking retard.
That games sweet.
-
I have yet to get it but I plan on it.

 I have this one but haven't gotten to it yet... Haha, you don't see a thread like this everyday!
WISE FWUM YO GWABE!!!!

I dont recall much flicker. Sometimes it would if your entire body + shots + something were all on the same line, but it wasn't like it was bad.
It's apparently the Shadow of the beast of shooters I guess
-
I actually like it myself. I feel its worth at least 20. I think I paid like 13 for my copy from hitofjapan on ebay.

Flickers and poor graphics have nothing to do with whether or not a game is good.
-
It's a good game, worth a look. Probably the best version of 'Saint Dragon' you can find.
-
I like it. It's worth getting for sure.
It plays pretty much the same as the arcade version (which I also played as a kid), but with some graphical downgrades like no parallax.
So, you didn't get it in 2004... well, now is the time!!!
-
hmm I should get off my ass and order this game.. I remember enjoying this in the arcades but I think (in my optimistic imagination back then) I was really waiting for Irem's Dragon Breed..
-
This game rules. Everyone should own it.
-
Wow, lots of praise for this one. I've spent precious little time with the Duo version as it seems quite primitive compared to the arcade. This is one game where the backgrounds REALLY take a major hit without the parallax. Extremely flat looking stuff.
I was fully unimpressed, but I'll have to go give it a decent playthrough now.
-
Graphically, a bit poopy, yes. Arcade was much better. Idk, I always hav a good time with it tho
-
My ears always bleed when I play this game but it's quite ok.

Question: Is Saint* Dragon worthwhile?
*ST or St.
Answer: Yes, Virginia, there is a reason to own it...
(1) If you are an old-skool shoot-em-up fan, then you should check it out because it wasn't widely ported to consoles. It is certainly worth some of your time, since there are many, many horizontal shooters that are less exciting/more generic than Saint Dragon.
(2) You are a dragon with an undulating body!
(3) If you aren't an old-skool shoot-em-up fan, you probably won't find ST Dragon particularly endearing.
(4) I like the quirky aspects of SaintDragon. The game has an awkward charm. Awkward.
(5) It makes an excellent keychain. See below:
