Title: I need a cheap CGII compatable multitap
Post by: MissaFX on February 20, 2008, 03:56:53 AM
That pretty much says it all.  I need a cheap multitap for the CGII, it doesn't have to have a box.  Links to stores, auctions or people personally selling them are all welcomed.

Ty in advance.

Toshi @ DreamStars on eBay is always reliable and about 60 members here can personally vouch for him, including yours truly.

To bad you didn't pick up a brand new Duo Tap for $10 before TZD died.  I suggest that you get in touch with D-Lite, as he has 'em listed on his site (http://www.multimods.com/) for cheap - $12 boxed and $8 loose.  Either that, or pull the trigger on this sweet deal (http://cgi.ebay.com/PC-Engine-Turbo-Duo-Cordless-Multi-Tap-Pad-Set_W0QQitemZ160209786259QQihZ006QQcategoryZ49230QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQ_trksidZp1638.m118.l1247QQcmdZViewItem).

Will a duo tap work on a CGII?

Will a duo tap work on a CGII?

Yes, American Duo hardware and Japanese hardware is fully interchangable.

All controllers, systems, and taps are fully interchangable excpet for actual TG-16 systems specifically which have stupid f*cked up controller sockets for no reason.

Of course - I wouldn't have mentioned it otherwise, duh!  Haven't you learned that I'm never wrong, except on days that end in the letter y?  :P

If you happen to find a TurboTap laying in the gutter, you could use it with a DIN to mini-DIN converter.

Because those are as plentiful as ..... well, something not very plentiful, anyway. I've never even seen one before in my life.

Oh yeah?!?  I have one, so there.  :P

If you don't find one laying in the gutter along side the tap, I suppose that you could always build one out of parts ordered off the internet (though not exactly convenient or cheap).

About Toshi/DreamStars, I should add, his prices can be hit and miss (all over the board) but there is NO EBAY STORE located in Japan that provides better service than he does. That's it, bottom line. You will never have problems like Missa did with Toshi and all his stuff ships fast, I usually get it within 2-5 days.

One thing he's always consistent on pricing-wise is loose HuCards, he's always got tons of 'em and great deals at that.

Buying from Toshi is a blast. If there's anything specific you're looking for, e-mail him and he will go out of his way to respect you as a collector and find items that are up to whatever standard you're looking for. He's helped me find some totally obscure Koei games for PS1 complete with spines, manuals and furoku in mint condition, and he's also helped me find some stuff in poorer condition to save me money when i've asked him specifically.

That's a great deal. I got my receiver + 2 controllers for $125, but those were brand new in box. That's $85 for the same thing, used.

I wasn't joking (for once) when I said that it was a sweet deal, especially for an ebay deal.  Usually they go for around $100 for a single controller and a receiver.  Sometimes they're a bit cheaper from somebody in Japan, but then you get hammered with pricey shipping.

No problem.  It's usually pretty easy - if my mouth's flappin', then I'm probably not serious.  :D

Hence the confusion at the rare moment of seriousness.
