Title: Warning: ebay member sonicrevolution
Post by: nodtveidt on February 20, 2008, 08:25:31 AM
A lot of you know about the big 32 game lot I won back in late January (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130192422016). Well, it's now almost March and the package still hasn't arrived. Reason? "Oops, we sent it to the wrong address." Supposedly UPS recalled the package. Then, they try telling me that it would be an extra $25 to ship it to Puerto Rico. What? Bullshit. There are two things wrong with this. #1, I happen to know that UPS shipping to Puerto Rico is the same as shipping to anywhere in the USA as long as a business is the one that does the shipping. The seller is a business (The Gametrader, they have several stores in the USA), therefore no additional charges are applied. #2, UPS charges for package recall. This $25 for "extra shipping to PR" is bullshit...they want me to pay for their shipping mistake...that is, IF THE PACKAGE WAS SHIPPED AT ALL which is in serious doubt now considering they've never given me a confirmation/tracking number despite repeated requests for one. So I sent them the following message:

"Dear sonicrevolution,

Okay...I'm losing my patience here. I won this auction fair and square, and paid promptly. All I've gotten from you so far is the runaround. So I have reached an ultimatum. There are three choices you have right now. Choice #1 is to send out my package IMMEDIATELY and send me the tracking information. This will gain you a positive on ebay. Choice #2 is to refund my money IMMEDIATELY. While I can't give a positive for this, at least I can leave a neutral and you won't have your reputation tarnished. Choice #3 is you completely ignore this warning and I file a complaint with Paypal, and leave a negative on ebay. This has gone on WAY TOO LONG. So resolve this issue at once.

- adosorken"

I won't ever do business with these guys again, that's for sure, and I advise others to be wary of these guys.

Rover, if what you say about the shipping to Puerto Rico being the same price is true, why not include that in your email?

Hopefully it'll get resolved soon! Usually being as cordial as possible helps things work out better in the end (but not always....)  O:)

What wretched scum.  If they'd just admitted their mistake and re-shipped, I would've still left positive feedback; but now that they've asked you to pay for their mistake, there's no way that I'd leave 'em a positive.  I don't even care if it was going to cost extra to ship to you in PR, as it's their price quote and they should stand by it.  Dirty, rotten, douche clowns.

I did...about 4 emails ago.

Being courteous and nice has gotten me nowhere with these guys...it's been almost a month and still no shipment, so it's time to play hardball.

My package got delayed in shipping though when the snail who was dragging it here got sick and died.  With Rover's situation, the asshat is holding on to the games right now, like they are some kind of hostage.

An update on this case:

I sent them a "REFUND MY MONEY IMMEDIATELY" message last night while I was doing my listings here. This morning, after I'd left for work, I got three emails from them. The first one stated "we were going to ship your item today" (yeah, BULLSHIT!), the second one said "we'll send the refund unless you tell us otherwise within the next 4 hours" and then the third one was "we sent your refund since you didn't respond". So, I have the refund pending now. This is a closed case as far as I'm concerned. I left the neutral for them as I said I would...they're f*cking lucky I didn't leave them a negative because I would have been more than justified in doing so.

Hell yes you would. I would make it at LEAST a BITTER neutral.

Well, it sure didn't take them long to relist it:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130201319258

If anyone here bids on this and wins it for the price I paid for it or less, I'll buy it from you.

Ooooh...just noticed something...although this is the same auction, it lacks the console this time around. NOW I understand what REALLY happened...they couldn't actually SEND me the package because they'd already sold the console...they dragged their feet on purpose until I demanded a refund. Then, they relisted the item the same day...minus the console it originally came with.

In the end, I was right to demand a refund...I would never have gotten this package. But it looks like we're going round 2, as I'm bidding on it again. If someone outbids me, they're paying a small fortune for these games. While I wouldn't normally rebid on an item like this, this lot contains some games I really want and would never resell.

$31 for THOSE games? That has to be a scam, or the seller's getting raped; some of those are worth way more than $31 by themselves!

The auction ain't over yet, and it's already higher than The Old Rover's original winning bid ($230 and climbing).  A quick look at the bid history shows that they canceled T.O.R.'s bid; methinks they're a tad bitter.  :D

I didn't notice they canceled my bid. The bid history is not showing up for me. Well, f*ck these shitheads.

now you're wishing you had left a negative feedback.

I didn't notice they canceled my bid.

Now I don't think that they did; I didn't realize that ebay hides bidder IDs on 'higher-priced items', whatever the f*ck that means, and replaces 'em with a generic ID.  If you go by the bidder's feedback, #29 (maybe you, maybe not) was in it right up 'til the latest bid.  Either way, I say f*ck these shitheads.

yeah f*ck those guys anyway -  shady fuggers.

The auction ended for almost 75% more than what I paid for it originally, but it looks like it was sold to yet another ebay store. The downward spiral of ebay shysters carries on.

Ebay should introduce a new rule that would prevent ebay stores to bid on other ebay auctions. All the auctions I lost lately were won by ebay shops. Go figure.

Gotta love the justice of capitalism!

I would be totally bummed out if this had happened to me, nodtveidt. Sorry you had to go through it all.
