best game of the year, 1990. Vote for it!
Again, list compiled from pcedaisakusen - if entries are missing, don't blame me.
-
Neutopia edged Veigues, and Splatterhouse for me :)
-
Extremely hard to choose, but Devil's Crush wins for me.
-
I had to roll the twenty eight sided die to help me choose between Splatterhouse and Neutopia - Rick won.
If this poll was for the worst game, Drop Off would win hands down.
-
Everyone should know what I voted for :P .
-
Psychosis crushes all the competition, except for Dragon's Curse and Bonk's Adventure.
But I'm a shooter man at heart, so guess which one goes FTW.
-
I voted for Bloody Wolf. Some downhome arcade action, and even with minimal writing the story was halfway decent, I dug it.
-
Voted for neutopia i still see it as one of the best zelda clones.
-
Too difficult! So many great games for the Turbo in 1990 -- the best year ever on the Turbo, hands down. If I had multiple choices, I'd vote:
1) Devil's Crush
2) Bonk's Adventure
3) Aero Blasters
4) Ninja Spirit
5) Neutopia
.
.
.
-
Bonk's Adventure easily!
-
Way too easy for me...as great as most of these games are, Neutopia is #1 for me.
-
As much as I love Aeroblasters and Bloody Wolf, I have to vote for Dragon's Curse.
-

I know what you should have voted for, Mr. Mohawk Pro-Wrestler. :D
-
there can't be something better than dragon's curse! it's the perfect hucard game!

Yeah, it was kinda the high water mark for the turbo... like 1988 was for the SMS; every year before and after had less games and less good ones.
-
I'd have to go with Psychosis, followed by Ninja Spirit in a close second
-
dragon's curse by far. this is nice this yearly thing I'm a fan :D
-
Ninja Spirit was amazing, but I had to give props to Aero Blasters. The two player mode was the deal maker. That's a tough call though. So many good titles that year.
-
I voted for Dragon's Curse mostly because of nostalgic allusions to the Sega Master System version.
There were a few great Turbo games that year. I would get my Turbo the next year.

Just because I star in a video game doesn't necessarily mean it's my favorite! Indeed Battle Royale grabbed my interest, but I just had to vote for the best game ever instead.
-
Damn! Tough list! I had to vote for a personal fave rather than some "objective" best. Aeroblasters it is, then!
-
Much pain and suffering to whoever calls it "Ninja Spirits".
-

I stand corrected. Liar, I'm sitting down.

This was a very simple choice, really. The only game that I felt would stand out to be the TurboGrafx-16 Game of the Year in 1990 would be Bonk's Adventure. It really is one of the best platformers out there (in terms of graphical style, I perfer Bonk's Adventure over Bonk's Revenge, and perhaps Bonk 3: Bonk's Big Adventure, too). It had also brought along a mascot for the TurboGrafx-16, giving it an extra earning for this honor.
The other good choices would be Dragon's Curse and Devil's Crush, but in all terms, I feel, Bonk's Adventure wins either way.
-
Voted for Bonk's Adventure as well, although Legendary Axe II and Bloody Wolf were great games as well... tough choice.
-
so bonk and dragon's curse are on par now!! :D
-
Kitsunexus is a standup guy, really awesome, so I'll just have to share his opinion and vote for Devil's Crush.

Much appreciated, bro. 8)

it's a classic game, regardless of what system it's on.
Incidentally, is there a Genesis version?

nope^^

Tis a good game. It's amazing how well done the SMS version is. The TG version is obviously better in terms of graphics and colours, but not by leaps and bounds.

No Genesis version, only Game Gear and a Brazillian rebranding of the SMS version(unless you PS2 ).

I can't believe there's not more love for Aero Blasters. Under-appreciated, this title is! Especially for 2 player play.

Agreed. The level two music punishes the competition.

Its pretty much my favorite Turbochip, but I'm not voting solely on preference. It gets pretty cheap in spots later on and requires some memorization to one credit.
-
Tough one here. I love quite a few games on the list, but I have to go with Bonk's Adventure. The game still stands well by today's standards. Fun platformer. A pleasure to play, even though I am a huge Devil's Crush and Splatterhouse fan to boot.
-
I agree for the most part about Bonk's Adventure, but I think graphically it looks incredibly dated. Much, much more so than 2 or 3.

I actually like the simplicity of the games graphics. It is easily the best controlling of the series. Any way you slice it, Bonk's Adventure is the shit!

T2K - you've got awesome tastes ! nat , you know I know you do too.
Bonk's Adventure is a KILLER game ! I prefer it to #2, actually. I should be playing #3 by the end of next week!!
TOTALLY excited about that !
-
I'll join the Kitsu bandwagon and vote Crush. The madman soundtrack as much as the gameplay
is why this game gets the most play outta the bunch.
Here is a track from the Devil & Alien Crush Soundtrack CD.

Part 3 is my favorite, they took everything that worked from the first two and then some. It's a huge game. The only thing about 3 is the soundtrack isn't as consistently good, but the good tunes certainly are rockin'.
-
LOL "Synthesizer Manipulate"! I love that!

I've never really had the chance to get into the third Bonk game. I'd like to one day, but when people on ebay treat it like you are buying a gold bar instead of a game, well, you get the picture. :?
