Best game from 1988... what is it? I'm breathless with anticipation!
-
Galaga '88.
-
shouldn't we better consider r-type part 1 & part 2 as one game?
-
no. they should be punished for not putting it all on one card.
-
okey..right there  (even it wasn't really their fault, since the hucard technology wasn't that advanced at that time to produce a 4mBit card )

Galaga '88

Galaga '90, though I should vote for my brethren.

I bet they could've done it on one card, but it would've killed their profits or been prohibitively expensive. Maybe not.
-
yeah..who knows, except of those gnomes back then :P

For some reason I kinda liked the '87 game selection more  . My "true" vote would go for Galaga '88, just bareldy edging past Alien Crush and Space Harrier, but I voted for No-Ri-Ko since no one is going to vote for it and that it's a (lack of) game I have been dying to play!

you know what? you're not alone :D

Ah, of course. From this list, I have picked one of the first PC Engine games I have grown fond of and have ever met, which is Dragon Spirit. It certainly earns the higher ranking with its superiorly done soundtrack.
Alien Crush, Galaga '88, and possibly Space Harrier would also be other good choices, but I feel they do not come as close to having this ranking as much as Dragon Spirit does. Necromancer, from what I've seen also looks to be of an interesting game, too.
-
Fantasy Zone...of course. What an excellent port.
-
Fantasy Zone was FANtastic, but Space Harrier was better.
-
I am voting Space Harrier in the hopes that by sucking up to nat, he will finally PLAY RAIL CHASE.
-
Galaga '88, accept no imitations!
-
R-Type 1 because it omitted the boring last 4 levels that nobody cares about from the game and only keeps the good stuff.
-
Galaga 88 is really fun, but Space Harrier is just as much fun and is more technically impressive.
-
some great titles in this year such as Alien Crush, Dragon Spirit, Galaga '88, Pro Tennis World Court...
but just has to be R-Type 1, its the PC-Engine Killer app!
-
gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllaga?
beh.

I'm glad as I never voted first time around.

Shouldn't that be 'Wize fwum your gwave!"?
-
GALAGA 88!
-
Falls into the majority with a vote for Galaga 88
-
Is the poll still open? then my vote goes to Galaga '88, too. Followed by a close second by Dragon Spirit and Pro Tennis World Court.
Yes, I still like that Tennis game, and its RPG style quest mode :)
-
Since this thread has already been resurrected and It appears I hadn't voted yet, I just picked Makyou Densetsu. I'd likely choose Necromancer if I'd been able to finish it.
-
R-Type I. I would have liked to vote for both as they're actually one game. R-Type is THE game that showed everyone who the boss was.
PCE rules. PCE is awesome. You must obey the PCE!
-
It really is tough to choose between Galaga '88, Space Harrier and R-Type. I voted for Space Harrier because I loved the hell out of that game on the TG-16, but really all three are awesome.
-
Since we resurrected this can I vote again for Galaga?
