Title: TurboGrafx 16 Kiosk/Display Units…
Post by: Sparky on March 15, 2008, 02:51:19 AM
How nice would this be to have for your system?

Surprisingly i have heard that 2 exist in my area from a couple of my gaming colleges but some distance from me (im from Ontario Canada)… one is at a business that is using it to hold there Microwave… good god!!! and the other is at Goodwill that is being used to hold there computer at the back. They will will not part with them so i have been told but i may have to give it a shot.

Anyway just one of many of my tg16 wet dreams :D Has anyone seen one of these or own? I take it would have been for a trade show back in the day. so cool to have.
I wonder if the marquee lights up?…hmmmmm.

The only one I remember is the one that played the demo CD+G on repeat. Not very fun, IMO.

There is a Duo kiosk at the end of one of the PC Engine FX TV episodes... I think it was episode 4.

Yes, those are amazing.  =P~ But why are these businesses so reluctant to get rid of them? How important can a TG display be to the Goodwill Foundation?  ](*,)

i cannot figure it out either… maybe a place like goodwill you show any type of interest on something that is not for sale and they seem to wrap they claws around it even tighter!!!. How much do you think would entice these guys but still send me home smiling?  :D

Yup, I remember specifically my closest TRU had the one on the left.  I remember 2 things, watching a video of different games, but, also playing the 1st 2 levels of Lords of Thunder.  It seems like I saw one of these at another store or 2, but, I can't quite remember which one's, I don't think it was Babbage's, not enough room for one.

I remember playing bonk's adventure at toys'r'us! I begged my parents for a turboduo, but they said that it was too expensive. :x Oh well, I have 2 duos now  and all the games I want  8)

I'd love to have one.

I remember the upright one (pictured on the left) in Toys-R-Us. They had BLAZING LAZERS on demo when TG-16 launched through January, if I recall correctly.

Those things are awesome!  I'd love to have one, though I don't know what the heck I'd use it for (other than to class up the joint).

How much do you think would entice these guys but still send me home smiling?  :D

I'd offer a trade for a new melamine desk / microwave cart from Walmart, but I'd make them assemble it for being douches and dragging their feet on the trade.

haha… ya, there has to be a price they will take, i think its time for a road trip there.
If i got that big kiosk it would be the worshiping temple in my games room :D or I was thinking of attempting to build one of these but who has the time and patience for that, i games to play!!!

I've never seen the TG-16 kiosk before (mostly because I lived in Alaska when the Turbo came out and we didn't have any kiosks in the town that we lived in).  Both look very cool though.  I'd seriously try to bribe them out of the units....
