How do you beat the boss in China Warrior level 2-1?
For the bosses on 1-1 through 1-3 my strategy was pretty much "mash kick as much as possible", which seemed to work pretty well.
The 2-1 boss keeps doing her little hurricane kick deals and other special moves, and has alot more reach than I do (or that's how it seems anyway). Jump kicks are totally useless. Punching is pretty much waiting to get hit. All I have are my kicks, but she destroys me before I can enough hits in.
Any tips?

Push her into the corner with punches, then when shes against the wall, just keep pressing forward while punching, you'll pin her and slap her around like the hoe owes ya money and she'll go down in 2 seconds.
This works on the other female boss there even better if I recall

The women bosses in stage 2-1 and 2-3 are the easiest bosses in the game to defeat. I can't remember the last time they got a single hit in on me.
Corner her onto the far right side of the screen and keep kicking. Make sure your kicks are timed evenly. That's all you have to do. Like I said above, I can't recall the last time I've been hit even once by them.

You guys are wimps and use cheap moves. A kneel punch can take care of the stage one bosses (they headbutt), and I won't ruin the strategy for the spinning lady, but all of the bosses can be defeated by finding a pattern to their moves and responding accordingly.
The Bruce Lee boss can be tough, but there is a tactic for him as well (it isn't as elegant as the others).

Hahaha.
Steve might be the nicest guy on these boards, but he definitely holds the record for the most times calling people "wimps" and "chumps." :)

Cheap? I guess. But it gets the job done.

Has anyone played Skuljagger for SNES? The hilarious thing about that game is that almost all of the bosses don't actually have a pattern, but require finding a glitch to kill them :D .
-
I have that game! I got it as part of a lot of other stuff, the game itself wasn't what I was after.
I've never played far enough into it to actually get to a boss, to be honest. The game seems kind of lame to me.

Wimp. :)
Next you're going to tell me that you use the turbo switches! ;) Seriously, though, this game is meant to be played without the turbo switches (same goes for, say, Vigilante and Monster Lair). In all of these games, there is a "variability" to the weapons that is lost when using turbo. For Vigilante, the spinning of the nunchakus (whatever! sp?) varies (slow spin to fast). Same with some of the stuff in Monster Lair (missiles, for instance, go farther when you hold down the button). China Warrior is different, though. In China Warrior, turbo leads to sloppiness, which totally ruins the pacing and flow of the game. Plus, turbo prevents elegant transitions from one offensive move to another.

I don't think I've ever seen this game, but I love the name! Skuljagger. Awesome.

No, I don't use the turbo switches for China Warrior.

It comes off as looking really poorly made, but it's a pretty fun and challenging game. Read my mini review here (http://lazerdorks.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4486#p4486).

Totally! I hadn't heard of it before and I found it at a classic game shop and bought it because the case looked cool. It comes with a really nice 70 page instruction booklet that tells the story of each "chapter" of the game and gives you clues on how to find the secret treasure rooms. I think you might like this game, it's about a pirate that has a arsenal of bubble gum weaponry!

That was the point of this thread, requesting a strategy for that boss. But thanks for not ruining it.
lol
Thanks to everybody who responded. Hopefully it will help me defeat evil.

I was teasing you :)

I think my copy of China Warrior is wimp-proof because, IIRC, the turbo switches didn't even work while I was playing it. I seem to remember flipping them up and all that apparently happened was the buttons were disabled altogether. Maybe my controller was just acting funny that day. :-k

A formidable opponent! You have not resorted to unsavory tactics whilst playing China Warrior. Perhaps it wasn't your controller, but your Warrior Spirit that prevented you from using turbo switches.

I can't barely pass the 1st stage. I remember my cousin finishing the game back in the days. He was a gaming wizard.
