I just sent the following to the seller:

Quote
Are you out of your f*cking mind? There is no way in Hell this game is worth $6,000. You are BAT SHIT CRAZY if you think anyone is going to pay that much for this. I recently bought a mint condition copy of this game (minus outer box) for $165 right here on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=260214799658

I sold the other three games in that auction off for $50 and walked away with MC for $165. You are smoking some serious crack if you think the box and shrinkwrap are worth an additional $5,835. I could buy a brand new f*cking car for that money. And free shipping? Is that supposed to be some kind of special deal?

You insult the intelligence of the gaming community as a whole with this sham of an auction. If I had an extra $6,000 laying around, rather than buy this game I'd buy a plane ticket, come to your house and knock some f*cking sense into you. I'd still have enough cash left over to take a 2 wk vacation in Hawaii afterwards.

I wanted to say more but was limited by eBay's form.

This assclown is the chump that bought billmarioman's $9999.99 auction (which included this sealed copy of Magical Chase); now he's just trying to recoup the money.  I guess the idiot thought that he could grab a big lot, split it up, and turn a tidy profit.

I just sent the following to the seller:

Your lack of tact is surprising, though quite funny.

It's not normally how I conduct myself (as you all know), but this douchebucket deserved it. Besides, it's all just blowing off steam-- I'm obviously not going to find out where he lives, etc, etc.

If anything, I'd just skip straight to the Hawaii part.   :D

I'd rather shit in a box and mail it postage due.  Maybe I could fill the box with silane gas so it'll self-ignite when opened - kinda like a flaming bag of dog poo on the front step, only long distance.

I hope the clown gets a hard introduction to the realities of the marketplace. If he bought that collection just to apportion it out with the hopes of larger profit he's definitely out of his mind, and I will laugh when he gets his comeuppance.

HAHA Necro friends of mine actually did that once- they shit in a box, giftwrapped it and put new kids on the block stickers on it and left it on a girl's stoop with a note saying it was from her boyfriend...
The kid that left the "gift" in the box was the nastiest smelliest slob you can imagine
She opened the box on her kitchen table- I hear the stench was unbearable!

My response may have lacked tact, but it got the point across.

The seller took down the auction.

Check it out dudes:

He might have just taken an offer for it outside of eBay. These guys continue to feed off one another, just like other collectible fads. Hopefully the inflated phantom market will crash like all the others.

I don't think that anyone wants the kinda publicity that makes their market of potential buyers boycot their listings.
