I like how they used a pic of the Genesis version where they say "Even blows away the mighty Genesis version OMG!"

I was just going to say exactly that-- "Isn't that the Genesis version?"
-
Battle Ace, a futuristic version afterburner? lol

I'm thinking the genesis GnG picture was intentional, all the other pictures are from the super grafx GnG, beside the paragraph that says the "super grafx version even beats out the incredible genesis version" they stuck a picture of the genesis GnG for a reminder of what it looks like and maybe as a comparison, but who knows.

That's actually entirely possible, but even if that's the case, it's still funny how it's placed.

Was GnG ever released?

Was GnG ever released?
Yes, for the SuperGrafx only. I have a copy.

Was GnG ever released?
Yes Of course. GnG is probably the best game that actually WAS released for the SuperGrafx.
SGX verssion of GnG came out in mid 1990. It was the 3rd SGX game to come out. After Battle Ace & Granzort,
yet before Aldynes & 1941.
I'm gonna just guess that EGM meant to put the picture of Genesis version there. Even if they didn't, so what?

And it's the only version that's arcade perfect! :P

Knowing EGM, that's definitely not the case. If it were, they'd have a similar screenshot of the SG version next to it. Some copy editor was probably just thumbing through photos in EGM's library and found something marked "Ghouls 'n Ghosts" and used it. They should have just used pictures from the arcade Ghouls 'n Ghosts since it is almost as good as the SG version.

Sigh talk about beating a dead horse.
