very easy, post a famous spoken quote out from any pce/tg-16 games... who's right with the guess, will continue :)
here's an easy blast-off:
Green snake, come on!!
ps: and googling is for loser! :P
-
Shock Man
-
i'm shocked
sorry mate, unfortunately wrong.
-
Green snake? Isn't that one of the characters in the PCE version of Bloody Wolf? Or was it Last Alert...
-
Green snake, come on....red snake come on....yellow snake come on, i always thought he was saying, green snake, coble, im pretty sure thats from Star Parodia.
-
Crap, I didn't see this thread until just now. Yeah, it's Star Parodia, no question.
-
Yups, the snake charmer boss in Star Paroja for sure.
-
yo it's awacks turn :)
-
freezer on the blitz
Well, thats what it sounds like to me so if no one gets it soon ill give a hint.

I'm guessing that this is a garbled in-game voice?
-
Fighting Street?
-
Bravoman?
-
err... is it .. John Madden's Duo Cd Football!!!???!?!?!?
-
No correct guesses so far, but Joe is close in a way.
-
Street Fighter II. Or perhaps Crest of Wolf.
-
Flash Hiders?
-
getting close, i made a bad choice, i don't think many people have actually heard it, so here is a hint, the dude who says it is a viking.
-
Martial Champion or World Heroes 2.
-
World heroes 2 it be, when Erik uses his super breath to turn his opponent into a ice cube.
-
I can see Rover's quote now: "Get out of my head!". :P
-
Hahaha. :D
No, my quote would be a rather easy one...
"I won't let a puny punk like you get in my way!"
-
Oh c'mon, no one knows? Sheesh guys, this one's easy as pie!
-
Ys Book I & II?
-
Cosmic Fantasy 2?
Is it that big blue guy in the colorful mecha talking when (I forget his english name) the blue haired CF1 star shows up?
-
Black Tiger FTW :D Cosmic Fantasy 2 it is.
"You brat! I've spent a lot of time on this program! I won't let a puny punk like you get in my way!"
That's Vega (sitting in his Vegabot) to Cobra (who appears out of nowhere).
-
Here's the next one-
"I'll have all the girls, booze and fast cars I want."
-
It Came From the Desert? Space Adventure Cobra II?
-
Dungeon Explorer.
-
Dungeon Explorer.
Yep, I knew that'd be easy for DE fans, but I didn't want to pick anything too hard so early on. :P
-
What? Where the heck is that spoken in DE? DE doesn't even have voices in it!
-
What? Where the heck is that spoken in DE? DE doesn't even have voices in it!
If I'm not mistaken, that's 'said' after you assume the throne after NATAS steals the orb (the fake and funny ending).
-
Does DE even have any spoken word in it? I've never heard any...
-
If we're going to limit the quotes to audio, we'd should decide now.
If we do keep it strictly to audio, we're going to run out of recognizable games pretty quick.
-
It clearly says spoken, which means real audio.
-
If we're going to limit the quotes to audio, we'd should decide now.
I'd say on screen text is fair game; it's not any harder to guess, and it opens up a lot more titles. Besides, on screen text is nothing more than a series of quotes of spoken words between characters, so we'd just be a copying quotes.
-
How boring then. I figured this would be something actually interesting...see if people could figure out the sometimes mangled words spoken on some games, but just reprinting text is boring-ass.
-
Should we stick to non-cinema, in-game samples then?
-
No, I say we limit it to grunts our hero makes when hit by an enemy attack.
-
No, I say we limit it to grunts our hero makes when hit by an enemy attack.
That would actually make a good separate thread. Identifying recordings of sfx. :P
-
I'd say any text or dialogue from any game (as long as it's written (translated?) into English) is fair game. So, my turn:
"What a great sequel!"
-
Neutopia II. Too easy. :D
-
Of course. We're starting out this thread nice and easy, then turn up the heat later! 8)
-
Okay so I guess it's my turn again. :D Well then, here's another nice 'n easy one for y'all...
"This is where your quest ends, poopy-boy!"
-
I want to say Cosmic Fantasy 2. It's definitely Working Designs because they have a huge poop fetish.
-
Toilet Kids? :P
-
Yeah I think Joe is right with CF2. I'm going to guess Exile: Wicked Phenomenon.
-
Keranu FTW. :D It's the part where Sadler and co. run into the Doom and Destruction monsters near the end of the game.
-
Excellent because I have a line I've been meaning to use since day one!
"GUOD BAI BEBY!!"
I recommend that Black_Tiger hold his answer for awhile ;) .
-
Fighting Street? That sounds like what Joe could be saying when he wins.
-
yeah..it originally was intend to only use audio quotes, but since some of you guys thinks, going on that route we're running out of quotes to fast, so let the written quotes be valid as well :)
-
Excellent because I have a line I've been meaning to use since day one!
"GUOD BAI BEBY!!"
I recommend that Black_Tiger hold his answer for awhile ;) .
I have a different interpretation of that quote. :P
-
Is that Fighting Street? I don't remember that line. Maybe I've never lost to the opponent who says that since my mad skillz are so awesome. I remember "OK daddy" and "owwwight!"
-
It's not Fighting Street, but that's a funny guess!

I'd like to hear your interpretation. I wasn't sure if I had the line spelt exactly correct, but I thought I did.
-
I think in Fighting Street, one of the guy's says OK Baby!
-
Ya, the dude from the U.S. says it before you fight him or something.
-
Maybe it would help if I said that this was a written line, not spoken. :)
-
Is this a line from Final Zone 2?
-
Nope.
-
Oooh, looks like I won! Ok, here's mine:
"Push Run Button"
-
](*,)
Um, Bonk's Adventure?
-
New clue: It's a Japanese Super CD game.
-
Here's a wild shot in the dark: Baby Jo (horrid, horrid game).
-
Haha, nope but I can see why you guessed that.
-
New clue: It's from an RPG.
-
Legend of Xanadu?
-
Nope.
-
Tengai Makyou II Manji Maru or Tengai Makyou Kabuki Den?
-
New clue: It's from an RPG.
herewith, i'm out!
-
Tengai Makyou II Manji Maru or Tengai Makyou Kabuki Den?
Yep! TMII it is! Have you came across that line?
-
Herro dareen! :P
-
Yep! TMII it is! Have you came across that line?
No, when you told black tiger to hold back it made me think it was one of the tengai makyou games, the rpg hint sealed it, I'm ashamed to say that even though i own over 200 pc engine CD games, i have never owned or played any of the tengai makyou rpgs.
OK, here is the next one your free to go
...its in game spoken dialogue.
-
Beyond Shadowgate!
That dude who sounds like Lykos says it to the old man with the paddle game. Then the old man goes, "Yeah!" and runs off.
-
Oh, right...I guess it's my turn now. I don't know the whole line, so I'll just do the memorable part:
"...delicious cake!"
(in-game text, said while character saying it is saluting)
-
I would've guessed "You're free to go" was from Shape Shifter. Maybe the same voice actor confused me.
-
Is that Guy Kazama in Last Alert?
-
No, it's from a US chip game, if that helps. The actual quote is something like this:
"Now let's go home and have some delicious cake!"
-
What, nobody? OK, one more hint, and if no one feels like guessing it I'll just give it away...
-It takes place during the ending.
-
Holy crap! How did I miss this thread. I love it.
...oh, I have no guess. lol #-o
-
I don't know what it is, but I'll take a wild stab at it. Is it Talespin?
-
Nope, it's cartoony though. I really dig this game.
-
Tricky Kick?
-
No, you're getting slightly warmer though...there was a clue *buried* in my last hint..ahem...I *dig* this game...
-
Cratermaze?
-
Cratermaze?
Black Tiger FTW!! Congraturation!
-
Here's an easy one-
"I'm not sure, but he won't be gettin' seasick anymore!"
-
Ha! I missed this thread, too.
Here's an easy one-
"No doubt about it, he won't be gettin' seasick any more!"
I was going to say Last Alert, but I don't think there is anything resembling that line in the game.
To make matters worth, now I can't get one the following line outta my head:
"How-about-I-throw-you-into-the SEAAAAAAAAAAAAA! when I get through with you?"
-
I revised/trimmed the quote after kid_rondeau pointed out that it was actually two separate quotes from the same game. He'd like to give someone else a chance to guess it though. :P
