Post pictures and stories about your pets here.
I would post a picture of my cat, but he cannot be captured with a camera. He is not photogenic and disappears at the site of any camera.
-
So Joe beat me to it.
But here's my family:
This is where they nap most days while I'm at work. Usually my arrival home gets them up for the evening.

My cat. He was given to me around 1997.. I'd just came back from Hong Kong and FFVII Fever just hit America.. I went to visit this games shop that was being run in their own home.. the lady there said her cat just had kittens and had this ginger kitten which she said she despised so I took him since my father died around christmas 06 and thought it would be a good idea to add another member to the family and named the cat Cloud McStrife...top pic was the kitten days..
Had a Shih Tzu around 2000.. Which I named Fu cause in the orient they are called Fu Dogs ( I hope >.>) anyway after 6 months of owning him and as he was growing up I began to cough and wheeze and discovered that I was allergic to the poor thing. He ended up being re homed to some lady I knew who just had a bereavement..
The early days was hell on that carpet... I never really had much time to bond with the doggy but man looking after him was like looking after a young kid.. BUt in the short amount of time I spent with him I managed to teach the dog the sit and stay commands and I knew that he was one intelligent pup ^__^

I hope this doesn't turn into another road kill thread.
Nat, your cat looks like one of mine.

I hope this doesn't turn into another road kill thread.
It shouldn't, now that kitsune's gone.
I am currently a servant to 7 cats. however, 3 of them are all but wild, and flee from my presence.

Tippy, my best buddy :)
Doublestuff, queen bitch of the house.
Mama cat, Doublestuff's mom. Not terribly photogenic.
Coming soon: sweet baby. But she's black too, so don't expect much.

Here's my cat her name is angel dunno though she is far from being one
I adopted her from the spca a few years ago.
-
So many cat owners here! I'll post my dogs and parakeets pics if I find any.
-
The Labs are Ollie(yellow) and Bailey(choco).
The tank is 135gal African Cichlids with a few others tossed in too.
We also have a cat, but she is the shunned one for stealing my chicken dinner.

Already posted these on here but these are the pictures I've got onhand:
Tikus:
Her name is malay for mouse. When she was young she'd often get up on her hind legs and look up (for no apparent reason). Reminded me of what rodents do when they sniff the air. :P
Taches:
Her name could be considered the equivalent to "Spot" (or actually Spots) in French. :P
-
this thread rules.. I love animals - would LOVE a dog and some cats. I lived with a Jindo and a German Sheppard/Lab mix until the fall & miss them terribly.
-
I have a few cats as well.
digi.k, your cat (with the weasel face!) is just like my own weasel-cat, Mr. Missy! In the other thread, you posted a pic of your cat sleeping and I said to myself, "Damn weasels are everywhere!"
-

Thats a hell of a tank bust3dstr8, very nice indeed!!!!… and i love labs, the looks they give you with those floppy ears :D
Say HI to Geronomo my demon cat!!!…
my buddy saw this picture and said he looks like he has a santy claus beard
EDIT : Nat one of your cats could be a brother or sister to geronomo!!
-
Damn Sparky, that cat looks exactly like my cat only with less black and more white. Maybe they are long lost cousins. The same breed, at the very least.
-
wonderfully groomed pets. I want a hair style like that cat, Sparky!! Very cool.
-
Sparky does your cat cough up a lot of hairballs?
-
Sparky does your cat cough up a lot of hairballs?
With that long hair, ooooooh ya, he usually does that in the middle of the night in the bedroom  what a sound to wake up to!!!
The thing with animals is when you finally get around to cleaning your Vaccum/Central Vaccum system the amount of hair you have collected is almost as big as your animal.
-
This thread needs more dogs... Here's my mom's dog, Murphy. Not technically mine, since I moved out a while ago, but gotta break up the cat-fest in here!
-
Nice dog! I'm suprised there have only been like two or three dog pics posted.
-
That's because more people on this board have PC Engines than TurboGrafx-16s. And if you have a PC Engine, you are in love with the whole concept of everything Japanese and actually prefer it to whatever is your native culture simply because of games and anime/manga. And Japan hates dogs.
8)
-
And Japan hates dogs.
Bullshit, they're delicious.
Don't ya just love stereotypes?
-
No, Japan just likes quiet.
-
To refute Redifer's statement, I am a PCE guy and I fooking hate the cat. I have a potato sack and a river allready in mind for the little beasty. The only thing keeping it alive is that I love the girl more than I hate the cat.
Cats make Ollie sad :(

Dogs FTW!!!!!!!!

No, Japan just likes quiet.

Love the dog pics!!
I'll be able to post some tonight I think.

Wow, so many cats! I love it! Here are the two official cats of Pcenginefx.com:
Her name is Momo and was originally my wife's cat. She makes sure to keep me company when I'm working on the site in my office. Oh and she loves to scratch up my Turbo magazines (BAD!).
2nd is my sister's cat, Rez:
Rez is an outdoor/indoor cat which will bring presents to my sister in the form of a dead, bleeding bird. Nothing is more funny than seeing Rez drag a bloody carcass across the floor (good thing she has hardwood floors).
-
Momo looks kinda paranoid in that pic.

We used to have indoor/outdoor cats, until we had one that turned out to be an avian serial killer. Ever since then, they've all been inside.
also, I should warn you: that cat got into a fight with some neighborhood stray who had FeLV, and eventually died of it.
-
OK, back to K-9s. :P
Meet Brooke:

I couldn't find my pictures of her with her winter coat on. I hope I didn't lose them when I was backing up files. :( Anyway, she's a sweetheart, but she would chase all these cats until there was no tomorrow. lol
-
haha ceti my cat has a beard and your dog looks like she has a Toupée :D… just teasing man,
she's a good looking pooch, my wife has been after me to get a dog, i prefer a cat as i think there low maintenance.

Mixed breeds are indeed the best type, as they're usually healthier and more even tempered.

How big, and how old? :) Is that thing going to outlive you Michael? Will he be playing the TG in the 22nd Century? :P
-
I had a turtle once when I was a kid. I was playing with him in my backyard one day when I spontaneously decided to go play with a friend or do something else. So I put a shoebox over the turtle who was in the middle of the grass. He escaped and I never found him... until 6 months later. He had crawled across the entire lawn and under the patio. I was digging around under there for some other reason and pulled the turtle out. There he was... sans eyeballs and completely frozen. I took him inside and cried to my mom to see if there was anything she could do. She put him in the freezer! WTF? I need to ask her to explain her logic about that one.
-
What kind of turtle is that Michael? Looks like a painted turtle, but my turtle knowledge isn't exactly honed to a razor's edge; I do know that my nephew has a red eared slider, and it definitely doesn't look like that dude/dudette (I can't sex turtles either).
I need to ask her to explain her logic about that one.
If anything will cure a frozen reptile, it's more freezing. Common knowledge.

she probably didn't want it stinking up the house.

I'm not sure, they have the same type of turtle in a indoor mini pond at work, and its about 10 inchs long at 9 years of age.

Its a red ear slider. The color type is slight diff on the shell, due to coming from Florida in captive breeding.

Hmmm, my nephew's turtle doesn't have any striping on its skin; maybe its still too little and will gain 'em when it's a bit older.

sometimes your just to damn tired to fight with the ones you hate!!!
poor little bastards!!! :D

Sorry, no pics as all my pets have died
That being said, my 'pets' consisted (throughout the years) of a ball python, like a friggan dozen scorpions (one was preggers), two giant vietnamese centipedes that ate live mice, a couple praying mantis', a black widow (kept it in a plastic cup above my bed ), a mexican rosehair tarantula, some hermit crabs, numerous lizards, and a god awful, long lived, foul shit filled oscar (fish). And I had a hamster when I was like 6.
These were my 'personal' pets-family pets included a dog and two cats (a bit more conventional, right?)
-
...two giant vietnamese centipedes that ate live mice...
I just had to look that up and found a YouTube video of the process. That had to be the most terrifying death I have ever seen!
-
Hell Yeah, feeding time for those beasts was without equal- a horrifying and yet intriguing spectacle :-k
Most of the time, the centipede would gorge on about half the mouse, leaving the other half with it's guts hanging out for me to clean up :-&
And yeah, I loved it so much when the first one died I bought a second :D
-
a new addition to the family for our 5 year old daughter.....Yes its half yippy Chihuahua and half a Blue Merle and oh is he hyper?... just look at that f@cking tail go!!! :P

Nice horsey. Ever ride him?
My dad had horses when I was little. sometimes I would pet them, and sometimes I would ride them with my brother. I was more interested in the critters smaller than me, though.
psst, ash, you might wanna use a lower resolution pic in the future

yes i ride him regularly 3 - 4 times a week on average.

How long does the bearded dragon typically live?

Mine was up around 9 yrs when he passed. He was the spitting image of Senshi's - lots of yellow. I've heard they can live something like 12 years but some only live 6-7.

I had a crawfish once, but I made the mistake of having him in the same aquarium as my toads, frogs, & newts. The toads n frogs were fine, but he killed atleast one of my newts, chopped off some limbs, & I think puntured it. Might've killed both but my memory is foggy. I got pretty pissed, took him out & threw him into the bushes. I don't know what I was thinking putting him in there :(

Since I saw other Bearded Dragons in this thread. I decided to post a picture of mine. He has to be around 10 yrs old b/c my friend gave him to me around 02-03 from another guy. Also pictured his best friend turtle, which is also pretty old. Don't worry I feed them after the photo.
Next is the bird. He grinds his beak to a fine point so if he gets a hold of you it hurts. He looks fat in that photo, but is pretty small.
I also have some cats, but I couldn't find a picture w/ all of them so I will post those later.
-
So the Beardie & the Turtle get along ok? Are they both males?

I am pretty sure they are both male. I had them in separate tanks for a long time, but they were pretty much the same environment type. When I would let them exercise or put them in the sink I would do it together to see how they got along. Eventually i tested it out.
The lizard would snip at the turtle but I'm pretty sure he was just going at the movement rather than the actual turtle (like his moving head was a cricket), and he stopped that pretty quickly.
They chill by each other for warmth and sometimes the lizard goes on top of the turtles shell like shown. They have been in the water dish at the same time as well Neither seems to mind the other.
They both get along w/ the cats as well (lizard more than turtle) since they have all been together so long. By get along I mean nobody is afraid of or gets attacked. Cats will occasionally still swat at the lizards tail, but that's not to be mean, it is because it is a long stringy moving object.

That's cool, do either of them ever do the head bob thing, where they're trying to assert their dominance? I recall both of our male adult beardies being pretty domineering, though my memory is pretty foggy, but it seems like atleast one of them could be downright mean, though I don't recall which one.

The lizard does that on occassion to me or family. I never knew exactly why, but yeah he gets his head bobbing, so If that's true he is just trying to show how tough he is.
-
Wow a lot of fellow cat owners! This is my cat named, you guessed it! "Gunner." He's fat, lazy, and entitled but I love the little fur-catten.

Yeah, I haven't researched other reptiles, but I know that's why beardies do it. However, I used to wonder why the common lizards in my area that we call blue belly's would do push up's. I think it's they're version of the dominance thing, I've even had one do it to me as I was approaching it, instead of running away! :D

I love corgi's, they have no legs, just feet at the bottom!
I think our dog we put down earlier this year had some aussie in him, he was really smart & loyal. I know he deffinitely had lab in him, but his patterns remind me of an aussie.
-
Yeah they do have unique patterns. A friend pointed out yesterday that breeders have created a Miniature Aussie that AKC has recognized. Kind of interesting.

Me: scrolling through forums, looking at pictures of the punkic family. In walks my mother who never comments on anything game related.
My Mother: Who is that?
Me: A nice collector from Florida and his family, The one with four legs is his dog.
My Mother: Oh that's nice, doesn't look too much older than you. But I really wish you'd makes some real friends so that maybe one day you can have a nice family too. . . . before I die.
Me: We got any more of that Cookie Dough Ice Cream. . . . :(

Here's our little miracle... Her name is Pippa. Looked first for a "pets" thread so I hope it's cool I rezzed this one! She's a year old and now a major part of my life so I just wanted to share with you guys.
-
Her biggest thing that we're working on is barking right now, but other than she's starting to be a really good listener. Naturally stubborn though for sure! There's actually a little story about when we got her. A couple days after taking her home, we noticed something funny was going on with her elbow joints and she started to hobble. It was getting worse every day. Turned out she had a congenital defect that caused the upper arm bones in her front legs to not sit in the sockets of the lower legs. It affected both front leg joints. We took her to a local a vet and he told us she would be crippled for her entire life. My girlfriend was really upset by this, cried a lot that night over that. But we didn't give up, we went to a place called VOSM, an orthopedic veterinary hospital. She had a surgery that involved putting some metal rods through her joints to help scar tissue to build up around them, for several months - I forget how many actually. She was pretty miserable, we were trying to house train her and we couldn't get the dressings wet and it was raining and snowing every day it seemed. But we all made it through, and the day she came home from the hospital and they removed the cast (her legs had to be held straight for many weeks, imagine not bending your elbows for that long) and she started running around like crazy, like a normal dog, man - I have to admit it brought a tear to my eye. She ran around so much we were a little worried because she was supposed to take it easy post surgery for a little while! We curbed it as much as we could, but everyone was so happy to see her run around like a normal puppy. She has two battle scars on both arms to show for it, and she goes on walks, plays and runs all over the place like mad.
I feel like if we didn't rescue her (the surgery was pretty expensive), who knows what her fate would have been. I try not to think too much about it, she's got us now and she's gonna have a full and happy life!
Here's the pathetic little thing in her cast:
