A PC ENGINE PC!
-
These beasts are kinda neat (as an oddity) and this one is in particularly good condition, but no CD capability equals a waste of money in my book. Too bad you can't add a CD-ROM drive and install one of the PC-FXGA cards, then you'd have the best of all possible worlds. 8)
-
Hah. That'd certainly be a nice collectible for a PCE fan, though necro is right. No CD drive factor really kills it on the practical-scale.
But the starting bid price seems reasonable for a beast like this. That's too bad -- At this point, I'd need another console like I'd need a hole in the head.
-
Very cool. But as necro said, no CD drive = useless. It really is too bad that a mod couldn't be made to this.
-
Since this is a computer as well, can it run a PC Engine emulator on it? How about MAME? Or maybe Genecyst?
-
it's not really a 'pc'; it's a sharp X1 computer. not pc compatible.

However, a combination X68000/PCE would kick some major behind!
-
I'd buy it if I had the money :)
-
I'd buy it too! :) Pc engine is so addictive!
-
Yeah, who am I kidding? I'd buy that in a second if I had the money to blow. lol 8-[

I wouldn't buy it. These things have popped up before, and while cool to look at, are completely useless. Sure the fact that it has a PC Engine inside is great and all, but who wants to use a 20 year old computer with virtually no useful software? Not me. I can just buy a PC Engine without the Sharp X1 and save a shitload of space.

Exactly what I though when I saw it. A fine curio- but it would just sit in a closet somewhere. I need that closet space for music and camera equipment and porno :P

maybe if there were some decent x-1 games... but I don't know of any.
hence my desire for an X68000 twin :)
-
I thing I had the x-1 and x6800 mixed up :? I'd still buy that thing though, lol.
-

-
There's nothing wrong with ancient behemoths :)
-
Porn makes the world go round....or at least the internets.
-
Frickin' sweet.

In the X-1's defense, it does appear to have a least one good game for it: Kagirinaki Tatakai.
