While the Situation Comedy may be a dead genre today, the 80's, IMHO, was the high water mark for the sitcom. What was the best one?
-
Awesome poll Guyjin! 8) I voted for:
ALF
Married... with Children
Saved by the bell
-
We didn't get most of these over in the uk...
The wonder years is showing on repeat right now on a channel, so I picked that.
Roseanne was good too! Married with children, we got that over here. But I can't really remember if it was any good..
-
Personally, I hated married with children. ](*,)

Three's Company. No contest. Though Three's Company did start in the 70s. It's just a hysterically funny show. I've watched the reruns over and over and over and over and over...well you get the point. The show never ceases to be funny.
As for the spin-offs The Ropers and Three's a Crowd....
-
nice guyjin!!! You got me remembering about alot of these shows i use to watch, on top for me is Married with Children… i watched that religiously and was one show that really got me laughing all the time "NO MA'AM".
Threes Company is up there as well and the Wonder Years.
One i could never get into was Family Ties, did not like that show at all
EDIT: Hey, who voted for Golden Girls? :P
-
I voted Married With Children and Growing Pains.
-
Married With Children, Wonder Years, Head of the Class.
-
Married with Children and Night Court; all the rest suck. I would've voted for Charles in Charge..... if every plot had revolved around Nicole Eggert wearing bikinis and lingerie, but alas, they did not.
-
Three's Company for me. I spent many High School Summer Vacations being a lazy ass and watching Three's Company reruns on TBS. Those were the days!
-
No contest -- Married with Children.

EDIT: Hey, who voted for Golden Girls? :P
Me.

#-o That's like saying 'that one dog from 101 dalmatians. '

that's a toughie for sure .. I chose ALF, The Golden Girls and The Facts of Life.
-
Married With Children was OK, but I wasn't a huge fan of it. I understand why people like(d) it though.
I always like Cheers, especially when Frasier showed up. The Frasier spin off was pretty funny sometimes too.
-
Married... With Children is far more 90s than it is 80s. I like the show but I wouldn't vote for it for this reason alone.
-
Rosanne Cosby Wonder
-
Night Court.
-
Night Court!! Wow! I loved that show! I've totally forgotten about it. It's never on reruns up here. :(
-
Ha! I don't know, so many of them really don't stand out for me....
For consistent quality, I'd go with: Cheers, Cosby Show and Golden Girls
But these shows lacked KIDS doing GOOFY stuff, so of course I couldn't vote for any of the sitcoms.
Charles in Charge always had a special place in my heart, but it really doesn't stand out from the others... and I really didn't like Saved By the Bell back in the day, but now I actually watch it (occasionally).
So what does that say? Clearly, I've lost my mind.

you have excellent taste. that's exactly what I picked. :)
-
I voted for Perfect Strangers (my favorite and always has a place in my heart!), Family Ties, and Head of the Class. Would vote more if I could!
-
good choices - Perfect Strangers used to crack me up.
hey Esteban, your name doesn't reference that movie EVILSPEAK does it ?
-
Night Court....Dan Fielding FTW.

Ha! What's this? A movie called "EVILSPEAK" that I haven't seen?
No, I haven't seen the movie. But now I want to.
