I loved him, I was a huge fan, actually. This is just crazy. He wasn't even that old. George, you will be missed.

didn't know him.
You're the second person to say that to me in the past hour. And here I thought Carlin was a household name by now.
-
i'm not that familiar with american comedians. or did he things over the boarder? may be i knew him..some things he did, but not by his name?!?

I got to see carlin live a few years back at the local theater here.
Well it's a shame he's gone i herd his ticker wasn't in too good shape.
R.I.P carlin you were one of the best comedian out there.

He was 71. I'd consider that old compared to a lot of recent "celebrities" who have been dying in their 50s.
Anyway, a lot of "celebrities" have been kicking the bucket lately, and this is the only one to make me do a double take. I loved most of his humor. And to think he died less than 5 hours ago. He's still laying there on a slab right now. Right now. Just laying there. All pale and stuff. Chest might even be cut up.

He was one of the most influential comedians of all time, he pretty much pioneered "dirty" comedy back in the 70s.

I agree. Sad. :(

I can't believe how fast Wikipedia updates. Do people just sit at their computers, scan the news and head to Wikipedia to update it before doing anything else? They must be Wikipdia groupies or something.

Hahaha, I was just thinking that when I posted that link. I was shocked.

I know him the most as Rufus from the Bill & Ted movies. Heartbreaking that he croaked....

In my eyes the funniest and deepest comedian to ever live. :(

Carlin was one of my favorite comedians (along with Kinison). I'll miss his irreverence and disdain for humanity, but I'm honestly surprised that he lived this long considering his long history of drug abuse. Good-bye, old friend.
Now the word twat is an interesting word. Twat! Yeh, right in the twat. Twat is an interesting word because it's the only one I know of, the only slang word applying to the, a part of the sexual anatomy that doesn't have another meaning to it. Like, ah, snatch, box and pussy all have other meanings, man. Even in a Walt Disney movie, you can say, We're going to snatch that pussy and put him in a box and bring him on the airplane. Everybody loves it. The twat stands alone, man, as it should.

I read about this in a recent newspaper. I was sad. I grew up on George! He was Mr. Conductor on Thomas the Tank Engine...
That was how I knew him, anyway.

I'm still very torn up over this.

I am very upset about this myself. George Carlin was 2nd to none in comedy. He was more or less a comedic genious. He was and still is my alltime favorite comic. I saw him live once last year. The seats were terrible balcony seats so it was hard to see him.
There was a show of his set up for july near me, and my friend and I got tickets as soon as they went on sale. WE got front row seats middle of the stage. I was soooo excited to finally see him live up close...but now that can never occur. :(
RIP George Carlin...
