1. Is this game as good as Track & Field for the NES?
2. Is it hard to find and what would be a fair price for a mint copy CIB?
Thanks.

1. No, it's not as good as Track & Field. World Sports Competition is more of a button masher, though it's still kinda fun.
2. I'd say no more than $15.
You're welcome.

World Sports Competition is more of a button masher,
since when track & field was something different like that?

I think its just as good as track and field. the play controls are almost identical in every event. Plus there are some event here that are not in track and field. I think this is a great Track and field type game.
-
I disagree with whoever said it's not as good. As a matter of fact, it's a really fine title. One of the more underrated titles on the system, and definitely one of the better sports titles (although that's not saying a whole lot, considering).
-
This might have to be my first sports title. :-k I love classic track and field. There's nothing like mashing the buttons trying to run faster. I love it!

Is there really a need to mash buttons if you have Turbo though?

True, but I remember Track & Field requiring more well timed button mashing (hence a bit more fun). Admittedly, though, it's been years since I've played it, so maybe the action is just as mundane as that found in World Sports Competition.

Yes; you have to alternate buttons.

I like World Sports quite a bit. It's completely different than all of the other Turbo games I spend my time playing. There's a ton of events, it's multiplayer and beating the records is fun.
TZD stocked it for decades, so it's definitely not rare; sealed copies still turn up on ebay for reasonable prices.

Yes; you have to alternate buttons.
You can simulate alternation by setting one turbo switch on high and the other on low. Faster alternation can be obtained with a TurboStick.

I love these olympic style games. I need to purchase this sometime since I enjoyed what I have played before. Nothing cooler than choosing the ripped black dude with a hot pink uniform.
-
I ended up buying this game for $15. Will play it this weekend.
I also picked a nice Galaga '90 at the same time, I know that game is good.
