Title: Your hair type
Post by: Keranu on July 11, 2008, 09:17:41 PM
Mine's curly and I wouldn't have it any other way!

I have curly hair too! I keep it short though, so you can't really tell.

Don't be afraid to let your curls show! Sometimes I like to pick at mine so I can have a super afro.

I had a pretty big afro for a while. lol, they were good times. The afro is gone now though. While I missed it at first, I enjoyed the hassle freeness of short hair more.

I have curly hair, but it's not curly until it grows more than 3 inches out. It looked liked this  (http://secretcorners.net/weblog/blogs/media/blogs/a/morrison_2.jpg), except more curly. Think goldie locks but with medium dark brown hair. But I recently shaved it. Now there's little maintenance to worry about.

Pretty much straight with a touch of wave.

I'm in the same boat as ceti, except I think any "wave" mine has is simply a combination of lack of attention to it, aversion to using a comb, and wearing a hat on and off. Wearing a hat really molds the hair into whatever position it happens to be in when you put said hat on, whether it's natural for the hair or not. I always had pin-straight hair growing up.

I was like that too - I had straight hair growing up, and then it got all wavy.

but the same thing happened to my dad, so it's a genetic thing, not anything I did(nt do) to it.

hehe. I'm also prone to hat-head as well.

Straight but not narrow, just like me.

My hair used to be red and maybe even more curly as a baby, but it soon changed to brown.

Awesome thing about curly hair is that you don't even have to comb it and it will still look good. I just don't look right if I comb my hair in any "proper" manner. Thinking about getting it cut really short like I've done before from time-to-time.

If I let it grow out, my hair is curly.  I keep it short so as not to look like a dirty hippie.

It's long , and when it gets long it gets a little wavy.. Some girl friends straightened it once and yukkk, It felt all icky and not natural. My hair didn't feel good. Those straightening irons no way, never again!

When I grew my hair out long, I had a few girls tell me how I should get it straightened and I bluntly told them no way.

My hair is long and straight, which would be wonderful except for the fact that it has no body whatsoever.  It's almost impossible to do anything with it.

No offense, but that's hilarious.

I was thinking something more along the lines of There's Something About Mary, but didn't want to get slapped.

I had a mohawk once, but it was nowhere near as impressive as Vestcoat's!  8)

Agreed, that mohawk kicks ass. Unfortantely for him if we were to play Battle Royale together, I would still fight to the death for Spitfire Spike.

Hair? Oh I remember that stuff. Used to have some I think.  :-k

And yeah, the 'hawk is awesome. You look like a friend of mine. His was a bit more ... colorful. Looked like a pink turkey, to be precise. It was endlessly fun to hassle him about it.

A friend of mine used to have a mowhawk. Not nearly that impressive, but still a mohawk.

But then he got a job.

is that how it went with you?

No, I had my hair like that for four years with jobs at a restaurant and youth center the whole time.  I probably got away with it because I lived in a small town (20,000) without any other punks, so people didn't have many negative preconceptions or past experiences.  I got beat up by some rednecks once, but my boss and the customers at the restaurant thought it was more of a novelty than anything.

hmm.. hair..  touchy subject.   Mine is a bit see-through (on top especially)  and then a lot like a bristle brush or something too.  It's a pain in the arse.   I shaved my head every other week from about 1993 to 2005 but since then I'm letting it all hang out.  Much happier this way.  I am really starting to wonder what the ladies think ...
