Title: I'm Going Back to New Jersey for a While.
Post by: Game and Watch Kirby on July 28, 2008, 02:09:53 PM
Tomorrow, I'll be leaving for my trip to New Jersey for a summer vacation to visit my family (I had went there back in March for a proper settlment in a resting place for my mother). I'll be there for exactly four weeks, and I'll try to be online as often as I can to check on a few things. From then, until the next time I log on, I'll be seeing you all soon 8).

If I get a camera, I'll post up any pictures I take there when I get back.

Have fun in the Garden State.  Are you bringing the Turbo to keep from going through withdrawal?

P.S. - Remember to keep your TG-16 a secret, else the thugs will deliver a severe beating.

I asked my grandfather about the negative views about the state the first day that I had arrived there (about some people believe that people are stupid there and how the state can have a foul oder). He had told me that sometimes people get the wrong idea about the state, and how the Philadelphia City area is a beautiful place in it (with mountains, as he says, but they could be large hills, as well). I have no hatred against the place where I was born, but I do perfer living in Las Vegas since, no matter how hot it gets, there are hardly any insect bites to worry about and snow-shoveling to deal with, plus many locations are open 24 hours a day.

I hope you have a fun vacation in New Jersey! Be sure to keep an eye out for good turbo deals at the local shops over there.

Heh heh...

How that story came about, though, as my grandmother told, that there was once a woman whom had given birth to twelve children, and as she was pregnant with a thirteenth one,  she had yelled that she would rather have the devil than a thirteenth kid, and once it was born, the baby came out with devil-like features. Other sources, such as Answers.com (http://www.answers.com/topic/jersey-devil), state versions/details of the legend such as the devil eating the twelve children and caused havoc, and how a woman bearing her first baby, being the ugliest thing ever to be seen, was thrown into a river where he drowned, and a rock at the riverbottom was from then haunted by a maleviolent devil that would suck victims to the bottom, where eventually the bodies would rise to the surface. In any case, he's said to reside in Pine Barrens, but I have never really visited there when I was in the state.

No, but I did bring my Nintendo Wii with me, which I had Lords of Thunder downloaded before I left  for  me to play .

It's been over a week now since I've returned from my vacation (I know I've stated that I would be gone for exactly four weeks, but I had counted the first Tuesday as the first one, so I've counted four instead of the actual little to over three weeks (or 22 days). It took me a few days to get settled and ready, and I have been going to college at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (abbreviated as UNLV), as well, but I have been able to get prepared to share photos on here.

For the moments that weren't captured on photo, I had swam in the public swimming pool in my grandparent's neighborhood to the beach with my grandfather, went to see Phantom of the Opera in New York, and ate at the waterfront buffet at the Harrah's hotel in Atlantic City.

I did not get my Sony Cybershot digital camera until around August 5th, and had taken pictures from major events, including going to a zoo, visiting New York to see the play The Heights, and a jet boat ride on my aunt's boyfriend, can be seen here:

Of course not :P. As I am a student whom attends to class virtually every session, I won't be missing any classes for any lowly reasons.

I hope you have a fun vacation in New Jersey! Be sure to keep an eye out for good turbo deals at the local shops over there.

I've meant to mention this before, but aside from seeing the Game Boy and copy of Tetris that belonged to my aunt's boyfriend, I did not find any other video game items aside from a few people playing with PSPs. I do not know of any of the store locations that hold old video games.

Thank you for appreciating my photos, fellow members. I do enjoy using the Sony Cybershot digital camera, and will definitely take more photos like those in the future.

What cathedral is that? It looks like The Shrine of Immaculate Conception in Washington DC.

When I was about 8 or 9 years old-ish, I used to be terrified to walk into cathedrals of classic architecture cause of how huge they were compared to me

I like how the pipes on the organ are aligned

Which one are you in the pictures, or are you insanely camera-shy?

That is the St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City. Several photos were taken of its interior, and the exterior was shot while near a crosswalk. Those were taken the day lunch was had with my great aunt.

It's not that I'm camera shy at all, as I don't mind having my pictures no matter what I look like. It's just that my style of taking photos is more of an object-based technique, as I find taking photos of people in front of landscapes is something that does not appeal to me. There are serveral photos of me within the pictures (which were all taken by my aunt); I am the thin, white-skinned, brown haired female who typically wears squarish-shaped sunglasses in them.

Welcome back, Kirby.  Good to hear that you had a good time, but next time you snap my picture, could you wait 'til I turn around?  I'm not sure if that's my best side.

Sure thing :P (I don't fully get the [joke], but I have a feeling it has to do with a discussion that had taken place a while ago on here). I'll try to keep that in mind next time if I snap a photo of you .

What I wanted to do with that picture of the baboon was to capture a photo of its unique-looking rear end, yet get it in a pose where most of its body is visible, and the one that is within the picture was a suitable one. There were couple of children in the zoo at the time I was taking it that were calling the primate "ugly butt" as they were going to go see it.
