I saw someone say the PCFX is a white dating sim box. Now I want one -_-
Whats the lowdown on these things exactly? I read the resource site PCEFX.com has and I'm pretty stoked.
Are they rare/expensive/hard to use/prone to failure/require excessive upgrading to become useful?
I seen theres a devkit sorta deal too, which might be neat in time, but im more concerned with the games!
They good/bad? ?!?!?!
!!!!!!

Well the FX itself isn't exactly rare, some of the games can be. FXs do not need a lot of work to maintian them, the only part that really tends to wear out is the power cable, which you can have replaced. Check out sensei's store to see about how much FX games tend to run. There are not too many action games, but the system has wonderful FMV for the time.

Well I saw that Galaxy Fraulein Yuna is the rarest / hardest to find game on there? -_- dang.
90$ on ebay!
I will have to wait to buy all this stuff until after I get some other crap paid off.....
The PCFX reminds me of the Amiga computer, minus the suck.

1 avoid ebay
2 Yuna is worth 25-30 dollars and it not rare at all
3 check out sensei's shop for an actual idea of what FX games go for

Yuna is only 30 monies!?
I love Yuna. :)
Hmm. Yes this shop is dope. I need a PC FX asap.

Yeah, we have a copy in stock right now. Don't ever pay $90 for that game. If you are planning to make a big order, I can surely give you some sort of a discount or a free game or something. Let me know how I can help you.

:) We already smoke via email about a PC-FX :) As soon as I get these books sold *crosses fingers* I think I'll be ordering a PCFX and Yuna!
A little over halfway there. I love amazon.

Yeah, definitely go with sensei, not ebay-sensei is more reliable and has better prices. You should also pick up Battle Heat and maybe an RPG like Last Imperial Prince. Both are easy to get into, and are fairly cheap (especially Battle Heat)
Once you feel like spending a good chunk of money, get one of the three best (Chip Chan Kick, Zenki FX, and Super God Trooper Zeroigar). Each are over $100, but worth it :)

as soon as the amazon monies hit my bank I am ordering a PCFX and Yuna!
:)
Anyone play the Zork game on PCFX? I like them. Maybe this one is good?
!
Next I gotta locate some of the accessories, like a mouse.... and stuff!

Yeah, the Zork game is a port of the PC version, with the exception that all the real life FMV has been re-encoded off the origional umatic or svhs or whatever tapes it was recorded on so that it is in much higher FX definition video. The CGI video was rendered at that piss poor quality, so they couldn't make it magically higher resoultion. The interface is literally the interface from the PC version, with all the English intact. The graphics in game still are written in English. The voice acting has been re-dubbed in Japanese, so you might miss a clue or two, but you can always gamefaq your way through it.
I am also sure if you ask sensei, he can order you a mouse. Anything for the FX you do not see listed on his site, just ask him or his partner about.

Yeah, I think we could get you a mouse. I'd sell you mine but the button is messed up. I'll check as soon as I get back to Japan.
As for Zork, much like Blue Chicago Blues the voice overs have been re-dubbed in Japanese. (As MissaFX said). Since the game was quite popular on PC, there are many guides available for it. For me this game is worth having because I am a big fan of the Zork series (dating back to the text-adventures) but I don't know if I would have enjoyed the game on PC-FX had I not already been a fan. I can say that it is a good game, but I can't recommend it for everyone.
I second the recommendations from drdre. Both Bttle Heat and Last Imperial Prince are cheap and good. I would also recommend Power Dolls if you are into strategy games. It can take a bot of time to figure out the Japanese menues, but once you get the system down it is a very satisfying game. (again, a mouse would help). Also Team Innocent is quite fun and a there is a nice walkthrough available. I have a used copy of it on my site, but for a few dollars more, you can get a brand new copy from Japan Game Shock, so if getting sealed games matters to you I would buy it from them.

Hmm yeah all of these games were on my to-play-list.
I'll pass on Zork. Its a bit cheesy, haha. (played the PC one last night). Those fmv real actor clicky games never quite felt right to me.
I am curious about Boundary Gate. PCFX world has no videos for it. (alot of em are downed >_<). It looks mighty interesting from what I've gathered.

Boundary Gate is like a typical 8-16bit dungeon crawler with a party. While it doesn't have the eyecandy of some FX games, it is a very solid crawl 'em, kill 'em, loot 'em RPG.

I only played Boundary Gate for a little bit. The graphics are very simple but I really enjoy the art style the game uses. Take a look at some screen shots. If the art isn't for you go with a different game but I really like it and hopefully I will get around to playing it more soon.
If you want an RPG I quite like Miraculum. Oh, and Japan Game stock dropped the price of their brand new Team Innocent. It's only $16!

I can't even get used ones in Japan that cheap! So if you have any interest in the game, I would act fast, that's to good of a price to last very long. I can't beat that price.

I got my eye on that game Sensei. Ill see what happens after I order your stuff.
Damn the weekend, and it's lack of banking.
