Just picked this up yesterday and everything works well except for the music from discs fades in and out and then, after its been on for awhile, it stays on. I heard it could be bad caps? what do i do? :(
-
i think you might want to look at D-lites thread he made i think it addresses the CD-A in games

Hey a buddy of mine got one as well & has the same issue as you osg and wants to get it fixed, can anyone else help osg and my friend out? :) will pay for me buddy and a big hug as well :D
-
Tell me about it. looks like $1.00 parts. a couple of caps if i'm right. should be an easy fix.
-
So what should i get and where would i get them?
-
digikey, electronics parts website, radio shack, Fry's.....a broken portable DVD player....I don't know there are infinite sources where you could get it. I unfortunately spent a little more than $1 getting it fixed (well $1 will probably stop the fading, but probably not the "snap, crackle and pop" that happens sometimes. If you are picky like I am you will go mad replacing every cap on the board until it is perfect again (if that is even possible)

Any idea what components are causing the noises?
-
snap crackle pop? Well everything so far seams related to the caps as for as I know. There are many posts on this forum related to that. Let me know if you need some direction.
