Title: looking for Duo controller
Post by: Ratix on September 11, 2008, 06:36:04 PM
just one can anyone spare just one? 8)
i know it sounds odd but i totaled my only duo controller but it was a lesson well learned. While i do try to fix it myself i can't get it working right the only buttons that work are the D-pad. Like i said in the beginning though can anyone spare one?

i wanted to use the extension cable, use the turbotap and my other original TG16 controllers to be able to have other people play with me i have a few games like bomberman and the like. in greater detail i severed the cords and made the switch matched the colors with the extension cable i had and it didn't work. I then put back together my duo controller with the original cord and it doesn't work effectively. :-({|=

I have an extra avenue pad 6 that may interest you. It isn't working properly. I don't know what is wrong with it. I've taken it apart and cleaned it, but it's still not working properly. Pressing left on the dpad will pause the game for one thing. But if you can fix it, you'll have an avenuepad6 for cheap.

Oh yeah, she's Duo compatible.  :) She's compatible with every console system except the Turbografx. I really wish that I could figure out what is wrong with her.

Anyway, here's what they look like: (note: not a picture of my controller. I can post a picture of mine if you want. I would right now, but I'm at work.^^)

Anyway, because it is broken beyond what I am capable of fixing I'd prefer someone take it who can get some use out of it. Plus if you can fix it you'll have a 6 button controller for Street Fighter II.

5 bucks and it's yours, or I'll take a trade of equal value if that works better for you. I'm easy.

if it be 5 bucks tops would you except cash? if you can't i can probably make a trade but i don't know what would make it so. i guess i have quite a few nes controllers floatin around i've been giving away practically they all work.

Yeah, 5 bucks is good for a controller that doesn't work. :)

I would be happy to check the controllers out for you guys if you don't mind a short delay. I just took on a little bit of a "project" for a senior Turbo member.....let's just say it involves bringing a certain portable system(s) back to life....

But controllers are very simple - most of the time the issue bad wiring if there wasn't any corrosion. If you have a multimeter it is really easy to figure out the issue. But again if you want me to take a stab at it I wouldn't mind.

duo_R i know the problem with it and i think it can easily be fixed as a turbo pad did the same thing to me! i think the wires had something to do with it. i have no problems if you take a look at it and find a solution + do a hell of a lot better then me. like i said i basically ripped my duo pad to shreds only because i became daring and even did match the wires and everything! i used the DMM sound check and drew the pin outs for the colors.

ha, duo i'd take pics but i am just embarrassed by the whole thing! and you are on the money with it.
Edit: I managed to get back to square 1 with the controller the Duo controller is now a TG16 regular controller (the old Fashioned one) and as of right now i am attempting to still make use of the mini which will be amazing if i pull it off seeing how i managed to mangle it up so bad >.>

You know once I destroyed a Duo pad while trying to convert it to USB. Unfortunately the pad did not hold up to my ghetto resodering skills and saw an early grave.  It was all for nothing and I am forever stricken with guilt because now I have a PCE Flash Cart to test out Roms on rather than trying to use a Duo Controller with Magic Engine.

Did you keep the hacked controller? I could use the parts for a project. Let me know.

Also Ratix are you going to buy that broken controller from Ceti? If not let me know because I could use one of those for a hack project.
