The TG16 Kisok is up and running and man I am pleased with it…
with a 21 inch TV installed and with the dark plexie front on the Kiosk it hides the TV somewhat and makes it look like one piece,
with a little adjustment to contrast/brightness the screen freak'n punches and almost looks like an arcade… damn I am in love… :D

I'd use it to set up a MAMEMednafen cab :-"
-

I am pretty damn sure it will fit in my Saturn... it looks big in th photos but the measurements i got from the guy was 22" wide x 68" high & 16" deep… oh well there is always the roof if it does not fit, i will strap it down like a dead deer!!!
-
Too bad you don't live in SoCal, I'd let you use my van! :)
-
That is freakin' sweet! Very nice man! Haha...no way in hell my wife would be happy if I came home with that. Honestly I wouldn't care because I'd have a freaking TG16 Kiosk. I hope it fits in your car. Congrats again.

Man, that setup is bitchin'! I can't believe how incredibly cool it looks with LoT! I want one sooo bad =P~ Also, your game room is super sweet!
-
your organizational skills make me jealous. :) Im too cluttered.
that setup kicks ass.
it could have no legs, and skill kick ass. thats how hard it kicks ass.
>_<
you got some logitech speakers runnin off that Turbo setup?
-
The kiosk really ties the room together with all the black shelving.
-
One of the slickest setups EVAR!! ;)
-
thanks guys... i wish i could have you all over to play... i hear flights to Canada are cheap... hells come on down :)
i actually hugged the kiosk when i got home tonight :P
oh & Arkham----> the sound system is a cheapy, cost me $30 and the brand is called "Creative" sound is good and looks good... i am happy :)
-
Heh. not bad.
man that setup is killer.
-
Now you just need to seal the system in plastic just like it was on the public displays and have a controller attached to a flexible rubber thingy. Oh, and turn the sound down real low and ambient muzak up to make it feel like you are in Toys 'r Us or whatever.
I remember seeing Last Alert in a similar kiosk. It was the first time I saw a CD game EVER. All it did was sit on the title screen and play music, but I remember which parts of the music I heard. Now when I listen to my very own copy of Last Alert on my very own TG-16-CD-ROM, I let the title screen go until that part at the music so I can pretend I am 20 or 30 years younger.
-
Wait... the Turbo was around in 1978?
-
Hey Sparky, what telly are you using in your kiosk? :-k
-
Wait... the Turbo was around in 1978?
It's been around A LOT longer than that, my friend. You didn't think they created the individual atoms and molecules out of scratch, did you? Oh no, your Turbo has been around pretty much forever. NEC just assembled it for you so you didn't have to collect the individual components on your own.
-
my words. everything technical we have today is still pure nature thing. just arranged in a slight different way by us humans.
-
Now you just need to seal the system in plastic just like it was on the public displays and have a controller attached to a flexible rubber thingy.
would plastic saran wrap work? :P ………if not the plastic dome thingy would be cool to get, less dust
turbo D----> It is just an older Panasonic TV, i think from the late 90's, it has nice straight edges so it blends in with the frame & it fit nice and tight 8)
-
That is so, so, so radical! Where exactly did you get that from? I'm completely jealous man, that's so cool! The rest of that room looks just as sweet too. As nice as Lords of Thunder looks in that kiosk (it really does look awesome in it), I would've used a traditional TG16 or TGCD game to make it really fit in with the kiosk like it was back in the day. Ahh, Victory Run and Fighting Street :) .
-
Keranu---> i got the Kiosk from a local guy who had it for a couple of years now & i actually know him, he is into arcades and pinball machines so he never mention he had it, he did not say where he got it but when he finally told me about it i pretty much shit myself!!! he was happy to sell it to me as the only use it was getting was holding his tools in his garage
-
Sparky, is he the same guy that you got the Dr. Who Pinball machine from?
-
Sparky, is he the same guy that you got the Dr. Who Pinball machine from?
no that was another guy... bought that a few years ago... being a Doctor Who fan i could not pass on it, i am into way to many things :-"
-
Wow, that is the 1st time i have ever seen one of those and yea it looks bad ass.
-
Wow!!! All that money in that room you'd think youd spend 50 bucks to finish framing that window!! HAHA JK Totally sick setup im beyond jealous!
-
Hey Sparky, is there any room inside of the cabinet to put that subwoofer?
-
BonkThis--->… haha ya i need baseboards as well, but the most important stuff is looked after 8) i do need at least a damn curtain!!!
Joe Redifer--->… hell ya, it is all open at the back… hmmm now theres a thought :-k  #-o
-
This has got to be one of the sweetest things I have ever seen. VERY nice collection! That kiosk is just incredible!
-
wow, that's so cool! It looks awesome!
-
I don't care how old this post is. It needs to be brought to the top just due to the kiosks pure beauty. Damn that thing looks amazing and I can't help but look at it every few days. I'm insanely jealous!

-
Shit, what a nice TG16-kiosk!
How much did you pay to get it? :P
-
Most Impressive I hope you got it for a good price considering how priceless it truly is. LOve your "Room of Doom" :D
-
Sorry just saw that this came back to life… and yeah the kiosk is still my Tg16 center piece..... ok who am i kidding its my shrine :).
It cost me $100 from a guy locally that was using it to hold his tools, since i have posted it i have had some offers on it, 2 were at $1000!!!
Would sell my left nut before the Kiosk

Dude, thanks for resurrecting this thread because I wouldn't have gone gone back that far (I'm catching up on old threads from the last few weeks).
The kiosk is in fantastic condition. And the TG-16 logo just kicks ass in all its glory on the pure black obelisk of NEC.
Back in the day, the kiosk at ToysRUs was never in as pristine condition. Plus, usually there was a video being played on a loop at the ToysRUs I frequented.
I am insanely envious. The only thing that makes me happy is knowing that it has a good home.
Goddamn!
-
Very Very NICE!!!!
Now all you need to do is incorporate an arcade style interface for the controllers to make it a stand up machine!
Now tell me that wouldn't be KICK ASS!
-
I think at one time they had a arm that held a controller for a arcade feel but i am not sure, as i can not find much to any reference on it.
I do have a set of screw holes that are located under the white system holding shelf :-k (this might have been discussed but i forget )
but ya i am due for an update of this pict... i put a 27 JVC D-series in place of the 21 inch you see next to the Kiosk, f'n saweeeet, plus the duo and pce library is growing... thanks to my buds on here :)
Thanks again for the kind words

Hey Sparky... I know you're busy, but if you get a chance, would it be possible to take some pictures of the rear/interior/top/etc. views of the kiosk? I know these views aren't too exciting, but I am just curious about how the kiosk is constructed, how much room/shelving there is, what doors (if any) were available, etc.
Thanks in advance, regardless if you ever do it :)
-
Hey esteban, i sure will man... i will do it this weekend and post on monday at work :)
here is another shot that was not posted of the plexi door/window.

Awesome, thanks!
And the picture above, with the swivel/tilt plexiglass window is great (I had assumed it was fixed in place--with the monitor accessed from the rear of the cabinet--or that the plexiglass could be removed by sliding it up grooved slots in the side panels.)
:)
-
How the hell did I not notice this?
I would kill for a game room like that. That is absolutely awesome! :D
BTW, how does the room look in the dark? :)
-
ya the room looks awesome in the dark with everything on but the sounds better!!! i have 1 man parties in there all the time :P
Also esteban i took more picts for ya today of the kisok back, side & top ( a week late :P) will upload today or tomorrow...

Wow! Take some pictures with two naked women on each side of that bad boy and I'll have a new desktop picture for life!
-
i think that room is bigger than my whole apartment AwSoMe!
-
A $74,000 game room and you can't finish the dry wall around the window, come on! I hope that basement is above Flood Plain.
Sweet Kiosk, and I love that everything else in that room is shamed by its presence.

Seriously! And, what's the name of the Japanese celebrity (some middle-aged guy) who promoted the RomRom Amp in the Japanese print ads! I want him in the pic as well!
:)

Hey Sparky. Can I ask, where did you get those shelves on the left side of the room? I have been looking for shelving for my games to put in the basement and am having a hard time. Theres some stuff at Ikea that I might buy, but I like yours better.
-
hey man, sorry for the late reply....
Ya those bookcases you see are from walmart which i connected 5 together giving me 11' of shelving space :)
(i cannot find the black ones online but here it is in oak ) http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mainstays-5-Shelf-Bookcase-Alder/11061209#ProductDetail
Then i went to Home Depot and found some 10-12 foot long black shelving that can be cut to fit which match up perfectly to give me the extra shelves i needed.
-
Pretty smart. Thanks for sharing.
-
Does it have an actual NEC brand TV like the old Kiosks did?
-

Sparky, you need to get this to put inside the kiosk. :)

no way!!! what i have looks way better than that ting :).... and its from ebay... eeeewwwww!!!!
-
Henry, with the rate you're grabbing up PCE collections, I figure you should pick that up! Seriously that is some awesome stuff, I woulda considered grabbing it myself IF the seller hadn't messed with it and modded it to play TG cards instead of its original state... You can drop-ship it to RR at Hongkong and have him inspect it before shipping it to you the last mile. lol. RR -> sorry for volunteering your services. hahah

LOL, yeah, I hear ya. I am buying a lot of stuff - trying to make up for lost time - figure I'll get a better deal buying in bulk. :)
That one's not on my radar though. Not yet, anyway. Has anyone documented what was actually used inside the kiosk?

*Thread REVIVED*
Sparky, Is the entire cabinet black laminate, or is it painted? The TG-16 logo on the sides is that a sticker or is the entire side some sort of laminate with the decal built into it?
