Title: A couple of questions about controller extension cables
Post by: jperryss on October 05, 2008, 02:16:23 PM
Hi all,
First off, thanks to the forum for directing me to the cheapo Duo-R extension cables here:
http://www.monoprice.com/products/search.asp?keyword=534&x=0&y=0

Two questions:
1. I have a TG16 on the way. Is there a Monoprice (or other inexpensive) cable that can be used as an extension cable for those pads?

2. Has anyone removed the stock cable from a white Duo pad and hacked up an extension cable to attach directly to the controller board? For those of use with a Duo-R or RX, it'd give you a nice, lengthy, white cord end-to-end to match the white console and controller, without having to deal with connecting wires to wires.

Thanks!

1. No.

2. Dunno, but I have put a TurboGrafx-16 thick-ass cable on a Japanese tiny cable pad and it works fine.

If you get the extension cables floating around, don't plug a Turbo Tap into it.  It gets funky.  Instead plug the extension cables into each pad and then the Turbo Tap directly into the system.  Word to your mother.
