Doesn't sound like the VCR is dead yet..... just on life support.  They're still making DVD/VCR combos and other manufacturers continue to crank out stand alone units, but who's buying these relics?

I bought a DVD/VCR for my parents cause they wanted one. They still record stuff off of the t.v with the VCR and they won't spring for Tivo. I've got some stuff on VHS that's out of print, so I might need to pick up a spare VCR just so I have one.

Hmm...I should probably pickup a VCR too while they're still in stores. My current one is starting to eat my video tapes, plus the coax input is going bad.

If it's not Super VHS then it is no good.  Only homeless people would buy regular VHS.

Shit man I hope that doesn't mean the end of 6 dollar 8 packs of Blank VHS tapes from Walgreens or Dollar Stores

But I think the death knell of the VCR's began when video rental places liquidated their VHS inventory.

Ah those days of canvassing the state of Virginia scooping up movies left to right enough to build a funhouse

bingo. back in the days, before i said bye to my VCR, i digitized some of my VHS tapes (mostly music related things or very rare to get uncuted fliks like a unofficial predator release) and put them on a DVD.
