Title: Interview with Chris Bieniek of VG&CE
Post by: Keranu on January 10, 2009, 09:02:07 PM
http://www.atarihq.com/tsr/special/cb/cb.html

I've had this tab opened for like a couple weeks now and been meaning to post it. Figured there would be some people interested in reading it (namely you, esteban!). It briefly talks about VG&CE's general fondness of the Turbo on the second page.

Wow, sounds like it was a good magazine. Too bad gamers, then as now, are so stupid.

I don't think my local grocery store ever carried it.  :(

Since they didn't really go into detail, it sounds like VG&CE was Turbo-friendly because they were getting business from NEC. But at least he says that NEC didn't have any control over the content of Turbo Play.

Hey keranu and company :)

Yeah, I used that interview when writing stuff about TurboPlay and VG & CE. I wish there was more info on his stint at TurboPlay...

The fellow that conducted the interview is behind http://magweasel.com (http://magweasel.com/) (which has been stagnant for some time) and has been an editor at various magazines over the past few years. He used to have a blog (weaselsomething) that was fun to read. Now he does a "Magazine Round-up" for gamesetwatch, which  is totally fun to read, for me, anyway.
