Title: Happy Birthday!
Post by: Game and Watch Kirby on January 15, 2009, 06:08:39 PM
Today, I have turned the age of 20. Before my birthday, I had considered what an achievement it had been to reach this certain age. I certainly feel much more of an adult now.
As I had school today, I treated myself at lunch by purchasing a tuna melt sandwitch with onion tangelers and a root beer float. For a birthday gift for myself, I also took a trip down to a local Game Repair store (which was deemed to be the best retro game-selling store as it had the TurboGrafx-16 and some of its games on display) to purchase a game. I considered, as I wanted to get another one for some time, to purchase a Sega Genesis Model 2, but thinking of the great amount of cost it would be to purchase the unit along with the other components such as television connectors and controllers, that would have lead up to a possibly large price that I would have to pay (the console itself is sold at $25), so I had left it to be a last-resort plan. I also planned to either buy a TurboGrafx-16 or PlayStation title, but seeing in the store that the former's games were not being sold on the shelves, I thought that they currently didn't have any in stock (but I probably should have asked about them to the store employees in case they have them hidden in the back storage, but I had forgotten to #-o). Looking through the PlayStation games (which consisted greatly of racing games), I had narrowed down my choices to either Resident Evil: Director's Cut or Destruction Derby 2. Resident Evil: Director's Cut, as a game I was interested to have, costed $15 including the case and manual, and Destruction Derby 2, a game that I would also like to have the prequel to, had only cost $3 only with the instruction booklet. With some tough decision-making, I had decided to buy Destruction Derby 2, as I figured I can always come back in the future when I had the opportunity to spend more money once I obtain enough (I did recieve plenty of $20 bills over the holidays, but I as saving them for purchases of modern video games bought in retail stores with coupons and gifts cards, like I had done so Monday by going to Best Buy using Reward Zone coupons to buy WarioLand: Shake It! and Kirby Super Star Ultra with).
I had also uploaded a video of for my birthday. My father and I are also planning to see a movie and eat at the Red Rock hotel's buffet to celebrate next Monday since we are both off.

Sounds like you had an awesome b-day Kirby! I'm glad that you enjoyed it. :) I'm now in the mood for a rootbeer float! =P~

Yes! A tuna melt and a rootbeer float is a choice lunch indeed. But what the hell is an onion "tangeler"? :-s Happy belated Kirby.

Happy Birthday :) You sound up in spirits. Have fun with Destruction Derby 2, it was a blast BITD iirc. If you're looking for a Model 2 Genesis, I have like 6 of them. If you're interested, drop a PM.

Man, I don't even remember what I did on my 20th. My 21st sucked - stomach flu, which unfortunately, had nothing to do with drinking. I had a Guiness and felt like shit, but I just had to have a drink on my 21st. Happy b-day and good way to celebrate for sure.

Hope you had fun on b-day Kirby :D
Personally I haven't done anything exciting on my b-day in years. I don't have any good friends that I would have drunken Bomberman parties with.

Happy Birthday, Kirby. Destruction Derby 2 is a lot of fun. For my 20th, my college buddies bought me a 40 oz bottle of Colt-45 and I spent the remainder of the night trying to finish it. I haven't had one since.

 I just googled onion tangelers- it said do you mean onion tanglers? I said yes and clicked the first link- I'm pretty sure this isn't what Kirby meant...

 Zoinks! Yeah, I'm pretty certain she meant these: Moore's Onion TanglersTM from MaCain Foods add an innovative twist as an appetizer or an accompaniment to foods. The Onion TanglersTM are thin-cut and lightly breaded to provide the look and texture of scratch-made onion rings. Sounds good to me; everything's better dipped in batter and fried.

The definition Necromancer gave is most correct. They bascially resemble both onion rings and curls, but are of a lighter brown color and thinner than the two.
I give my thanks to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday. Also, other members are free to celebrate their birthdays on this board as well (for those of famous/important individuals, though, their birthdays are usually celebrated as holidays, their best noted in "The Holiday Celebration Board" topic).

I'm not fond of drinking alchohol, so I don't plan on going on a drinking binge when I turn 21 (and certainly not on a drunken Bomberman party) :P. The aspect of turning 21 that I anticipate the most is having the permission to gamble in the Las Vegas casinos. I can't wait to try out some of the solt machines around the city, especially the electronic ones that can offer free spins and wild cards !

I wonder if Kirby received any birthday gifts to which she expressed disdain over receiving.

None, actually. My grandfather had sent me laptop holding table (for using one in places such as on the bed or kitchen without having it to be placed on the person's lap or other locale that would cause discomfort or overheating), and I like its practicality from what I've checked out on it. It needs three AAA batteries for the small florescent lamp attatched to it, however, so I haven't been able to test it out yet.
LOL,yea seriously,I was like, wtf, when I read that post she made about getting a free game/ gift.
I felt that way at first since it was a title I didn't ask for, and that Battle Royale isn't highly considered to be a great game by many. Like I'd stated before, I'm over that feeling now any look forward to playing it once I get the chance to. I do appreciate that SuperPCEngineGrafx was able to send me a gift for the holidays (and I do love the Bonk/TurboGrafx-16 wrapping paper that it was enveloped around).
