Another rule for successful bosses: Don't have an attack that takes so long that the player has time to cook a hot pocket, like the boss in Final Fantasy 7. I remember the boss had this attack that went through the solar system..... it looked ok the first time.... but it took SO LONG!!! GRRRR

"Super Nova" was downright ridiculous. It blew me away when I first saw it back in 1998, but as soon as he used it again in the same battle, with no sort of shortening, it was just a complete waste of time. I should search around to see if there is an exact detail of how long it takes, it's got to at least be two minutes.

If you're strong enough, you can beat Safer Sephiroth before he even uses Super Nova. I've done it before.
Anyways, good article. :D

Funny article. Thanks for sharing.

Indeed; youtube clips show it to be two minutes of your life that you'll never get back.
