Forgive my mediocre Photoshop level, as I haven't used it since my tech school days

Regarding Rolling Thunder, is there any game on the PC Engine that plays similar to it?

Though I haven't played the PCE version, Shinobi would play similar to Rolling Thunder.

Contra's gonna be impossible to pull off AFAIC. I found a hi-res of the Japanese flyer but alot of text is interfering.

But I was able to pull off Super Contra. I'm still disappointed cause I wanted to get the helicopter and Red Falcon but it wasn't big enough

Here's some more Namco stuff

Baraduke

Very cool. Your photoshop skillz are already improving since your first post. Just like getting on a bike after a few years. heh

We didn't have Legend of Kage on the TG/PCE, but we did have Ninja Spirit.

Haha blame that on the not-so-steady laptop touchpad finger. Having to use the lasso to cut around the edges on the logos, it was certainly a pain in the ass at times

I improved the Super Contra one a bit more. This time more objects I was able to cram in.

The fact remains though, that bit of Salamander kanji dangling on the silver gradient on the Konami box is killing me.

If I could draw REAL good, I'd definitely bring into reality what the box art for "Force Gear" (the shooter minigame on Tokimeki Memorial we talked about awhile back) as if was a stand-alone. For my level of skill at drawing robots, I'd prolly make Keranu jump for joy :p

ugh. Laptop mouse pads are terrible. I don't care if the new Apple pads are supposed to be the bees knees either. They're still horrible for trying to do anything other than simple interneting...even then...

Or pretty close. A CD/SuperCD port would most definitely been perfect, or as close to perfect as possible. I think if I had the choice of one game to be ported over to the PCE/TG, it would be Ghosts 'n Goblins. The love/hate I have for this game is like no other. I'm still trying to beat the first run-through. I can only make it to the second last stage bosses (the two giant red devils/demons) before the "final" boss. I just find this game to be addicting as all heck.

I hear that, in fact in ANY GnG game, cause of how hard GnG's are, I have this attitude that I usually don't have toward any other game...

Just setting your foot in the final stage even on the first loop is considered having beaten the game.

hehe. I'd just love to play this game on a Turbopad. My only other option is camping outside Nectarsis' house for some real GnG arcade cabinet style action.

And to answer your question Tatsujin, Taito did distribute the arcade version of Double Dragon just like they distributed the arcade version of Kyokyuku Tiger (Twin Cobra). Taito also ported that game to PCE as you already know so them porting DD would make sense.

Maybe the title could mean the hero has 11 curses to cure. Use your imagination!

I thought I'd throw my hat in the ring with Splatterhouse 2. Made from scans of the PAL Splatterhouse 2 for megadrive and Dragon Spirit, I thought I was finished when I started looking for the japanese text to pop on and what did I find? Oh look the japanese version is called 'part 2' not just '2' back to google, only image I could find of the japanese MD version was a little blurry thumbnail which is where I got the 'part 2' from, the 'Splatterhouse' part is just from the PAL MD back cover.

Ha ha and it's even from Namcot.  I wish all companies pulled that same crap.  We'd have Konamit, Segat, Nintendot, Naxatt and Vic Tokait.  Ahh, Namcot, you so smart!

Namco had two development divisions

Namco = arcade

Namcot = Home consoles

Oh how I would kill to hear this game's soundtrack on PCE Gradius/Salamander's sound format.

Ninja Spirit, I know, but I don't recall seeing Namcot on anything other than Mega Drive games.

It's on at least some of their PC Engine games as well.

Not just some, all of them.
Famicom and Super Famicom too. IIRC correctly I think they dropped that when PS1 rolled around.

Can I use this for my Aliens arcade conversion to the PCE?

This one would work well for my Bubble Bobble conversion :)

Yeah you can use the Aliens one....

But that version of the box looks terrible by my current standards now. Be on the lookout, since I'm getting better than ever at Photoshop, a new revised one will be coming.

Guess I'm not observant enough of the company's games, then.

Ninja Spirit:  Yes, that one looks loads better, but it still kind of looks like you are relying on the magic wand.  You might want to go in there with the eraser and clean up the edges.

Ah ok, I do admit, because I'm on laptop touch pad and the hypersensitivity of the cursor, I do catch myself avoiding anything that involves precise eyeballing like the plague

Can you hook up a mouse to your laptop?

Rover, that looks like ALIENS the OST since there isn't any system branding on it.  The spine is still shrinkwrapped.  :)

I got the base CD image from a photo of a Verbatim Printable CD-R. The xenomorph artwork is apparently from AVP3...it's in the filename. The Aliens logo comes from the arcade game title screen, blown up 2X and then smoothed. The Konami logo came from a clean image I found on Google images... had to smooth it out a bit too. The "compact disc" logo is the same one I've been using for years. I don't have any clean PC Engine logos so I couldn't add one. :(

I take the train every day to work and those seats just gobble stuff up.  Now everything is attatched or in my bag.

I know it's not PCE/TG but the alternate reality still would've been so awesome...
Put a 4M RAM Cartridge with that shit and we got a monster.

Welcome aboard dawg!

Gotta use the distortion transform tool on the PQ box art layer on the case and the hucard. (Edit > Transform > Distort)

Speaking of Turbo Duo, I'm having a hard time trying to find vector images of the CD-ROM², Super CD-ROM² and Arcade Card symbols.
