How could you fall asleep playing a game? well it happens... i think.
For me playing Castlevania on the GBA, i forget which one... my ass found a comfy spot on the couch one evening & i was getting nowhere fast in one area...and than... i just drifted off when i was in a nice quite part of the castle... aaaah... i woke up and i was still alive... but i swear the charactor had that "wtf" face on him :P
so has it happen to you?.... or games that you find yourself getting sleepy playing... like some one shot ya with a tranquilizer!!!
do tell.

Dude I loved castlevania games, but one of the GBA releases would put me to sleep. I never actually dozed off with the system on, but came pretty dang close. It is a good game to play that will knock you out at night.

Shenmue -- towards the end. I like the game, but no can deny that the pace is slow at times.
Hmm.... Talking about it kinda makes me wanna play it now.

Great thread, this is something that has happened to me several times. There is one humerous story where I fell asleep while playing Neo Metal Fantasy once and my brother witnessed me constantly tapping the confirm button while my character was standing still on the world map. It's been happening to me more often recently too, while playing Final Fantasy VII, Opoona, and I think even Ys Book I & II! Definitely happens most with RPGs. This doesn't mean there is anything wrong with a game that I have fallen asleep to though!

that new Final Fantasy VII game for PSP puts me to sleep. Maybe my brain realizes that it is a "dummy" FFVII game....
-
I haven't fallen asleep while playing 'em, but the latter Final Fantasy games' animated battle crap and boring cut scenes were numerous enough that I would turn and watch television or read the paper.
-
I've definitely fallen asleep to Castlevania Symphony of the Night. I was playing the psp version and woke up killing things (yes I play in my sleep). The other games I've fallen asleep playing recently have been Mega Man X2, and X4......... Oh and there are a ton of RPGs I've fallen asleep on, but I wasn't playing them in my sleep.

Assassins Creed
Wild Arms 3
Halo (lol)

I have nodded off playing games on handhelds before but thats about it. :D

I've done it on a few occasions on late-night game sessions after a few too many brewskis. It's always fun waking up at 5:30am with game music blaring, warm beer still in-hand.
-
I fell asleep playing dragon slayer legend of heroes- that turned me off the game for good.
-
I fell asleep playing pac-land. the music is always the same, the levels repeat themselves and each other a lot, and it just seemed to go on and on and on.
though I may have been under the influence of benadryl at the time.
-
Yeah, while fighting the sinistrals in Lufia 1 for SNES

Jesus. Benadryl. We were talking about this earlier on the shoutbox, but I could be playing the final level/boss of Ghosts 'n Goblins on the second run and still fall asleep if I was on Benadryl. That stuff works, but it knocks you out. I took some before work on Monday. Lets just say Monday morning I had paperclips keeping my eyes open. Twas terrible.
-
do not remember to particular happenings, but when i'm tired to almost death, it can happen that i will fall asleep at any things i'm just doing
-
Yeah, while playing Metroid. I was only fighting baddies for a good hour or so while trying to find my way. Everything got so repetitive during that time that I dozed off.

Word. I take that stuff in the spring when the ol' allergies act up, but only if I'm gonna be up and moving about. If I take it and go to work, I'll end using my keyboard as a pillow.

haha... ya Benadryl, Tylenol Cold & red wine hits me like a tranquilizer when playing games!!.
Gran Turismo 2 on my ps1 & Tokyo Extreme Racer on my DC would also tire me down... those upgrade screens and practice rides would take the edge off and the eyes would fall slowly, never fell asleep but damn close!!!

I have totally fallen asleep while playing Blockout, Pipe Dreams, Populous, SimCity 2000, Railroad Tycoon, Lemmings, etc. I dig all these games, but back in the day I would stay up too late to play games.
These days, I stay up late to read. And to make comments on message boards :)

I'll fall asleep if I'm tired enough, which is odd because I'm a chronic insomniac. But I have specific games I'll play if I can't sleep and need something to put me to sleep. Among them are Cosmic Fantasy 2 and Vasteel. While I love them both to death, they get monotonous after awhile, enough to make me drowsy. I'll also sometimes fall asleep when playing Soul Calibur III's "Chronicles Of The Sword". Fun game but the "strategy" parts are so boring...as if someone tacked on the idea as an afterthought.
-
Vandal Hearts 2 for PS1 - A strategy RPG I bought pretty cheap a year after it came out. This happened to me 2 times after school. It must be due to the game taking a while to start the ball rolling and me being tired from the day. I just find it funny that it happened twice.
I also remember dozing off to RPGs like Suikoden and FF Tactics. This also tends to happen with really boring and repeatable games that I somehow keep playing a little more than I should.

I don't, but my brother used to fall asleep playing Halo online (right after he had his first kid).
You'd be playing Halo with him, and next thing you know, his guys is running into a wall. I'd would usually go like this:
"Scott, what are you doing?"
"..."
"Scott!"
"..."
"He's sleeping again. Scott, wake up!"
"..."
"SCOTT!!!!!"
"gthmaaktpt!! Huh what yeah! Uhmawake!"
"You're sleeping again"
"Bacon ... mumble mumble"
Seriously, you could have weird conversations with him too. Very fun

Awesome 6 player brawl of Gaurdian Heroes for Sega Saturn!!
We played it nearly all night long, and I had a 11 match winning streak, it was 4AM and I was really comfortable and fell asleep. My buddy Kreager killed my guy and Screamed "Finally I beat Jaeger!!"
Everyone looked over at me and I was sleeping.

I almost did it last night playing Legacy of Ys for DS. Although I think it was because I was really tired!
