I used to have a list of (nearly all?) PC-Engine games, arranged chronologically by release date. If anyone knows where I can find this info again (and if you can verify its accuracy), I would be forever indebted to you.
ASIDE: I have never seen a verifiable list of U.S. release dates. Anyone have any info?
To follow up on a recent post on another thread (I'm talking to you, Akamichi!), I'd love to know:
First six HuCards:
10.30.87 -- Shanghai
10.30.87 -- Bikkuriman World (Wonderboy in Monsterland)
11.21.87 -- The Kung Fu (China Warrior)
???
???
???
First six CD games:
12.04.88 -- Fighting Street
06.23.89 -- Valis II Fantasm Soldier
08.31.89 -- Wonderboy III: Monster Lair
12.28.89 -- Red Alert
03.23.90 -- Final Zone II
???
???
Last six HuCards:
Last six CDs (not Super CD):
First six SCD games:
02-21-92 -- Gate of Thunder?

First six CD?
12.04.88 -- Fighting Street
12.04.88 -- No.Ri.Ko
12.23.88 -- Bikkuriman Daijikai
03.31.89 -- Cobra
06.23.89 -- Valis II
06.30.89 -- Tengai Makyu Ziria
That's just a guess, someone correct me if wrong. I dunno about Super CDs, but I think the SCD version of Populous came out in '91.
As for US release dates, I think the closest you're going to get on most titles is the month of release. All I can remember is that China Warrior, Victory Run, and The Legendary Axe were all there the very first time I saw a Turbografx-16 in stores in September 1989 .

Awesome! Fighting Street and No.Ri.Ko are very likely the first 2 cd games, because they were advertised together! thanks for reminding me about the old ads! (http://home.comcast.net/~demonami/tg16/vol0.jpg)
In additon to China Warrior, Victory Run, and LA, I remember Vigilante, Blazing Lazers and Power Golf available at launch. I'm sure there are a few others as well.
Even a month by month list would be super, I wonder if anyone has tried to do this already?

Hmm... I'll have to do some digging (most of my stuff is packed in boxes) but here's what I've come up with so far.
First six HuCards:
87.10.30 - Shanghai
87.10.30 - Bikkuriman World
87.11.21 - The KungFu
87.11.30 - Kato chan Ken chan
87.12.28 - Victory Run
88.01.22 - Jyaseiken Necromancer
First six CD games:
PC Gaijin's list is right on.
First six SCD games:
91.10.25 - Tenshi no Uta
91.10.25 - Dragon Slayer 1
91.10.25 - Populous The Promised Lands
91.11.08 - Prince of Persia
91.12.13 - SCD Demo Soft
91.12.20 - R-Type Complete CD
91.12.20 - Browning
91.12.20 - Dodgeball Soccer
There were a few games that came out on 12.20, but can't confirm them all right now. The Super System Card was released on 10.25. The demo soft consisted of demos of Tengai Makyo II and Dragon Slayer.

These two will take a little more time to look up. Most of my reference stuff is arranged alphabetically rather than by release date (my preference).

Excellent information. I'm one of those nerdy people who really enjoy knowing this kind of stuff as well.

The list I have is listed in alphabetic order, but it wouldn't take anything to copy and paste it into Excel then sort by date:
