so the wife bought me this little goodie for my birthday -- now I have no excuse to not start the TM series (already had TM2 & Kabukiden)...
Anyway, she got me the SCD version, and I read the Hibaihin (not for sale) in the corner. From what I read, it was a pack-in for the SCD-ROM2 system? (was this always the case?)
I also recall reading that this version pre-loads the text in SCD memory or something like that... I wonder if there's a noticeable load difference between the original CD version and this one...
Finally, I just got the manual & CD -- was there a map or anything like that with this one? (Or the original one, for that matter)

I'm on a trip right right now and can't check the original version, but it does have stickers (with foam insert) and I think has a map. I think that it also has two manuals/books. The SCD version is just a manual insert and disc.

I have the SCD version shown here and it's just the manual and game.

I have the original CD version (shown below) and, as Black Tiger mentioned, it has these stickers and foam insert, but only one manual and no map.
Now I wonder if my copy is incomplete :-k. Was there a map in the original version?

By the way, hello to everyone! this is my first post

I just checked mine and it doesn't have anything else, other than an uber rare english manual. Of course I don't even have the spine, so it could've included more originally. Just in case anyone didn't notice, the shiny insert is also a big round peel away sticker.

right :)
the other two stickers are supposed to stick on a entry door of japanese castles (大門 daimon/oomon). rather funny :)

Although I haven't done any kind of in-depth comparison, I couldn't tell the difference. The SCD version has a system card warning screen.
Kabukiden is the greatest game of all time.
