Title: BMP Internals
Post by: SuperDeadite on August 15, 2009, 02:56:45 AM
Out of curiosity, I cracked open the BMP to see what the batteries are for.  Inside is another battery! As well as a capacitor and the chips.  So I guess the saves are kept by the internal battery, and the AAAs are used to recharge it.  Crazy cool!

Well, that is pretty neat. Was the BMP designed to be service-technician-friendly, or did you just make a sacrifice to the Gaming Gods?

It's held togheather by just 3 phillips screws, very easy to open.  After putting it back togheather my saves were all still intact.  NEC builds stuff to last.
