Okay, I didn't even know the DSi was out until a few days ago or a little longer (seriously!)
And I want to know if it's worth getting. I already have a regular DS, and I heard certain imports can't be played on the DSi, but still, is it worth getting one that fact aside?

It isn't anything special if you already have a DS.

Nintendo removed the GBA cartridge slot to make room for a camera and web browser. If you have a DS, digital camera, and computer then there really is no need for a DSi. It was designed to cater to kids so they can pictochat rather than text message their friends and share photos with each other without the need for a cell phone. The web browser has a DSi shop where you can download games just like on the Wii.
-
its only useful if you plan to go to the ds shop and buy lots of stuff
or if you have the need to buy anything new and DS related, like me.

Personally, I think its f*cking great. I skipped the Lite and so going from the OG DS to this one is pretty nice. The colors on the Lite always drove me nuts.
The downloadable games are great, my favorites are Box Life, Precipice and Picto Bits. Picto Bits is the shit. I love it.
If you have a creative side, Flipnote Studio is the best thing since the Gameboy Camera or the Etch a Sketch Animator. You can create cool little animations with sound. It exports them to animated .gif or even Flash via a web site. Possible the best thing about Flipnote is that its FREE!
An Example (http://ugomemo.hatena.ne.jp/02D8ABC0AA3435FA@DSi/movie/3435FA_08BDB8CF40CCA_048?in=ch/11538449184037865485&sort=hot)
Note to pirates: DS/DSLite era flash cards won't work, and even the ones made for the DSi are now broke because of the 1.4 software update, so if you are into ROMs or homebrew keep your old system.
As for it not working with certain imports: I can't say that I've heard anything about this (other than the usual BS of the stores being separate from region to region). If it is true then it would be only for games released post-DSi. All my stuff works.

The 1.4 update was cracked in less than a week ;)
-
Was it? I'm using a Top Toy and a Acekard and I couldn't find any updates. I didn't even start looking until the update was a month old.
I knew it would be cracked (compatibility with original DS cards will always be a hole) but I guess I didn't think it would be so soon.

Sounds like fun. I'm not going to miss having the GBA cartridge slot I don't think. Besides, if I wanna play GBA games, I usually just play them on an actual GBA. :)

Yeah, I have an SP and two Mircos. Much better GBA experience on either.

I just bought a Famicom colored Micro. I didn't pay for it yet though. And I need to immediately when I get paid again.
