I'm getting sick of ads so or so.

I don't miss 'em. For fear of catching digital syphilis, I wouldn't click on those adverts anyway.
P.S. - It's spelled Evony.

Ah, whatever. Evony, Evory. Not saying I would ever click on it, just miss the chick :)

Another internet forum I attend has, as one of the bonuses of being a "supporter" (i.e. donating money) is that they don't see ads.
I wonder if its possible with SMF.

I've two words for you: Adblock Plus plug-in custom filter. f*ck, that's more than two....
Outside of that, the content filters for Google Adsense can be used to prevent their ads from appearing.

I'm sure you've had this experience:
1. You are used to viewing your favorite sites sans ads.
2. When you use someone else's computer, and see the ads, the sites suddenly seem UNfamiliar.
Sometimes it is very disorienting, even though I KNOW the layout of the site and should be able to focus on the content, not the ads.

Aren't the ads what keep the site running (not all of it, but a good portion)? I click on them once in a while just to make sure Arron gets paid. I don't buy the stuff, but atleast click em. If they were pop-ups, I might think about blocking them.
-
Yeah, guys. Let's do our part and click on the ads. :)
And then close the windows right after.

Same here. My suggestion was to set up a custom filter to block specific 'offensive' adverts, such as those for Evony.

As long as the ads are not pop-ups, I don't mind them really. I can just quickly glance at them and then move on to my usual business. :)
