Title: Losing Games...
Post by: TheClash603 on December 17, 2009, 12:45:53 PM
You ever lose a game you knew you put someplace, and it just isn't there anymore?

Ever think maybe a friend or family member forgot to tell you they "borrowed" it?

Just went to enter some codes into Club Nintendo for Metroid Prime 3 and Warioware Smooth Moves, because I am so close to 800 points to get some goodness, but these games do not exists on my shelf anymore...

Pointless rant, I know.  I'm just FRUSTRATED!!!  YEEAGGH!

Yeah, this happened to me recently with Zelda 3 for the SNES. I've owned it since I bought it new way back in the day, but all of a sudden I don't have it anymore. I don't know if it got lost in the last move four years ago, but I know I played it at my last place of residence. That's almost a five year window though, where anything could have happened to it. It's just strange. I have an immense game library and have never "lost" a game before.

My wife wanted to play it, so I just downloaded it on the Wii VC. Problem solved.

Yes, this has happened to me.  I swore I had games like Sengoku Blade, Dragon Ball Z and a couple of others for the Saturn.  But they didn't exist on my shelf any more.  I figured I lent them to somebody, but didn't remember who.  Nobody else remembered when I asked them.  About 6 or 7 years later, a friend of mine finally cleaned out his super-messy closet and found the games which I apparently lent him.  He gave them all back.  Apparently I had games that I didn't even realize that I owned, like Highway 2000 and Steamgear Mash for the Saturn!

Luckily my save files for all the games were still intact, so I just picked up where I left off.

In the future, all things will come equipped with GPS.  That is the future I can't wait to live in.

I swear I had dozens of Game & Watches in my childhood, which I do not have anymore, but which I also never trashed or so. I mean, I sure would remember, if I had dunked them in the trash can by myself, wouldn't I?

I recently reclaimed a copy of Last Bronx that had been in a friend's basement for 8 years or so.

parents sometimes like to dispose of toys that they feel are not appropriate for their children or don't think their children like anymore.

personally, when my kids stop playing with a given toy, I'm gonna hide it in some obscure corner of the attic for them when they get nostalgic.

that's basicaly right, but my parents were G&W adicted themself in the early 80s. so in this case, i don't think my parents had dunked 'em.

I have a bunch of CD's and video games that I have lost or, hopefully, simply "misplaced" over the years...

Forgotten Worlds, boxed, with 3-button controller is one of the PCE games that stand out because I was trying to find it the other day....

SO FRUSTRATING!

I wanted to play it so badly. And I couldn't remember what the box art looked like.

I have my box and instructions of Dead Moon from back in 94, but I have no idea where the hell it is.  I always kept it in the box when I wasn't playing it.  I guess I can buy a lose one again, but I'd really like to know where the hell I put it.  It's been lost for years and my wife and I bought another house so it could be anywhere.

Ohhhhh...I thought this thread was about losing at games and not losing the physical CD or cartridge or HuCard.

I've never lost my cartridges.  I always made sure to keep them on my shelf, beside my console at all times.  That isn't to say that my mom almost misplaced my copy of Stunt Race FX for the SNES though when she was cleaning the basement.  I even confronted her about that and she denied that she ever moved it into a different spot.  It's a good thing for her that I found that game.

Or what, you'd bitch slap her?  Remember, she's your mum and she brought you into this world; she can also take you back out.

I "lost" a few nintendo games.  I also "lost" all of the boxes I had for my nintendo/SNES/N64 games.  It seems that my parents threw out the box that had these boxes, along with the SNES plastic covers, manuals, and a bunch of other things when I moved out.  I imagine some of my nintendo games were in there too (like ikarri warriors, excite bike, and a few others).  Thankfully my PS1 showed up.

Super NES plastic covers are much harder to find than they should be.  I don't have a single one, and no game I buy ever comes with one.

Easier to find than Hu cases.  I have a stack of keith courage hu cards already that i need to find something productive to do with, like put under a table leg.  Once I hit 52 I may make a deck of cards...

I had this happen with a few games. Zelda 3 being a game I had no damn clue of how it was lost. I seriously would doubt it be stolen but maybe it was.

So yeah, there was this trashy dude that would do house work for my mom. He ended up taking Rage Racer and my Matrix soundtrack along with System of a Down Toxicity CD.

Then there was my friend's older brother who would hang out sometimes. During this time his brother had no job and liked cocaine and meth. He ended up taking Final Fantasy Tactics, some other PS1 game that I can't remember and misplace my KOF 98 Neo Geo CD somewhere around the house since he figured out it wasn't a PS1 game he could sell.

Also, I still to this day wonder what happened to my FF7 strategy guide, hmmmm.
