Title: Hudson Soft CD-Rom² Music Collection
Post by: lkermel on January 04, 2010, 06:25:53 AM
Hi !
First of all I wish you all a groovy new year !!
I've just updated my web site and have added reviews of the first two Hudson Soft CD-Rom² Music Collections:
http://www.videogameden.com/good.htm
I have also added complete mp3 tracks to download and updated the existing ones from Super Star Soldier, Final Soldier and Shubibinman.
As a Christmas gift, I've also removed all the watermarks from the cover scans/media and screenshots on my site.
Yo !

Thanks for the nice update; I'm downloading the tunes now for later enjoyment. 8)
I assume that Urusei Yatsura was released twice (once with the music CD and once without), but which version came first?

I totally forgot to mention that two editions of Urusei Yatsura exist, with and without the music CD. They were released at the same time, I believe, but I'm not sure... Would anyone know if the music CD edition was a promotional item or available in store ? I believe it was the latter...

I'm not seeing the full downloads, just a few individual mp3 files - am I missing something? Neat thing to put up, regardless.

Hey, cool reviews. I was also disappointed by the Super Star Soldier arranged tunes, as they had lost their energy in the process.
I also reviewed several of my game music CDs, which you can check out here:

I love this bit... sounds like it is hilarious:
Quote
Do you remember... A long time ago, In Transylvania There was a mon named... Dracula He was a vampire. He slept all day... And stalked all night He had a craving for... blood.
<Chorus> It's been 100 years since Dracula made his move He's back, he's ready... coming soon Dracula, you'd better beware, your time is through 'cause Simmon is coming... after you
He's coming! Right now Ah get ready! Right now BEWARRRE!
Ya better not pout! Ya better not cry! Ya better not shout, I'm tellin' you why Dracula, Dracula, Dracula... is coming to town Hey!
<Chorus> x3
He's coming! Right now Ah get ready! Right now BEWARRRE!

Chris, I've been visiting your site for a long time and I totally dig your Music CD section. I really enjoyed reading through your Jerry Boy tribute too ! This Dracula CD sounds hilarious indeed - are they actually singing in English in it ?

I've only published a few tracks from each CD (usually the best ones). They used to be only 10 seconds samples but I've decided to put the full-lenght tracks online...

Yeah, the Dracula Perfect Selection songs that I mentioned really are horrible.
Check them out:
Why not? Create an internet meme out of them.
When you compare them to masterpieces like the Battle (http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/647) CDs (http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/648), you've got to wonder just what sushi they were eating on that day.

Well, I have some "funky bass" Ys tracks (I forget which collection it's on... Falcom Box '91 ?) and it is even more lackluster than this...
...OH, WAIT, the chorus for Bloody Tears just kicked in... OH DEAR LORD, it is horrible.
Cancel what I said about Ys. It might be a tad dry, but at least it can serve as muzak when I'm working.
(http://www.classicscreams.com/Celeb_Pages/Celeb_Pics/Price_Vincent_006_Cooking.jpg) POINT TO PONDER: If Vincent Price had done the voice acting... well, damn, "Beginning" might be a CLASSIC right now.
I'm torn Mr. Covell, I'm torn. Nothing should be able to redeem "Beginning", yet I can't help but think that Vincent Price would have pulled it off.
