Doesn't Valve's Steam already do this? Doesn't seem to be hurting them much.

I don't use Steam but I think they let you install on more than one machine, which makes it much less of an issue.
I could be completely wrong about this though.

Well, in all fairness to Ubisoft, the end-result of uber-DRM is no different than 20-25 years ago, when I would accidentally kick the AC cord out of the socket with my feet. No progress saved, game reset to title screen!

I can't believe these companies still think DRM makes any kind of difference when it comes to piracy. Games are always eventually cracked and these virus programs do nothing more than make the honest gamers who actually purchased the game have issues.
No wonder I never game on PC anymore.

They should just hire cheap foreign labor to come packaged with each game. If you get out of line, the packaged watcher kicks you in the junk.
