Title: Favourite gaming food/snacks...
Post by: Sparky on March 09, 2010, 07:10:06 AM
This might have been done before but hey peoples tastes change (see what I did there)

So what do ya like to snack on when you have a quick moment from playing those video games?

For me a bag of redenbacher popcorn, no butter..... hey I am all for lube but not on my controller!!! Also I just had these for the first time, jesus its like a taste of chicken wings in a can, so good.

Honey roasted peanuts are a gaming favorite.

I've never seen those Pringles but I'll definitely look for 'em! I'm a big fan of anything buffalo wing flavored.

And speaking of which, these are my other favorite (especially with a big glass of milk).

That's the good stuff right there, but I wash my hands (or at least wipe 'em on my jeans) before picking up the controller again.

Red vines are the ultimate gaming snack. They aren't greasy, no crumbs, and you can have it hanging from your mouth with the slurp eating technique so no hands!

Cheerios and chocolate milk.  But only when playing Blaster Master 2 on the Genesis.

For some reason I was on this kick for about a week, and a friend had just gotten BM2. lol

So whenever I get a craving for Cheerios and Choco milk, I get an urge to play Blaster Master 2.....

My snacks? Lol. Oh man.  I inhale food like a fat kid at a dessert buffet.

Cheezits, mini donuts, funyuns, chex mix, and twinkies/zingers/dingdongs/ho hos

Coke, Cherry Coke, Dr. Pepper, Kool Aid

and anything else salty that I can fist into my mouth while pressing buttons.

back in the day, pretty much every saturday night meant a trip to Video Village (r.i.p.) to rent some games and then to Pizza Counter (still kickin') for pizza.

pizza makes your hands too greasy to play very well. But we had fun anyway :)

ughhh that food makes me sad I wish I could eat it but I had a GERD attack a few weeks ago and now on prescription to control the stomach acids so no greasy stuff for a while :(  ..

I'd probably be munching something by calbee or pocky snacks if they were in the cupboards if not then something like scotch eggs or just plain fruit :(   or even a brioche

But that doesn't mean I don't enjoy a snack prior to or after playing games.

I LOVES ME SOME PITA CHIPS, hommus, carrots, olives, etc.

calbee shrimp chips rock!; they sell those at the snack shop on campus. When I'm gaming, I usually don't eat (for grease on controller reasons). Instead, I usually grab a soda (regular or energy). heh.

As for myself when I'm hungry while gaming I grab one of these (http://www.fiberone.com/Product/bars.aspx?key=Caramel).  WTF do you expect, I'm an aging gamer!

Yup, I can verify that he does this.  Either that or String Cheese, or some other type of granola bars. Hehe.  Oh and Kool-Aid

I love "Power Bars" and granola bars and trail mix and that sort of thing. Prior to playing, of course.

At least you're not grabbing the Metamucil. :)

Funny, I'm the same way. I like to be totally focused in on my games.... snacks are only a distraction. If I need to eat, I'll take a break, but I can't remember the last time I interrupted my gaming for the sake of mere food.

Lately I have been eatting several pounds of starburst jelly beans at each gaming session.

Back when I was a teen, I ate a lot of snacks during gaming.... hot pockets, cheez-its, rice cakes, and juice became favorites.

One thing I hated about the final boss of Final Fantasy VII was that I could get up and cook a hot pocket whenever he fired off his rediculous special attack.

Exactly. I forget about the hunger pangs and keep on playing.

THE GAME WILL NOURISH ME.

FOOD IS FOR P*SSIES. Pardon the language, but it is true.

When I play games, LIKE A REAL MAN, I subsist on savory memories. LIKE A REAL MAN. Occasionally, a sip of coffee helps deaden the hunger pangs. LIKE A REAL MAN.

Flan or custard whilst gaming is nice, too.

Trying a new one today:

Hot Philly Pretzel Factory Pretzels

VERDICT: Excellent although make sure not to get butter and grease on your turbobs.

Note tis okay to get it on your nintendos as it actually increases their comfort and useability

I don't really have a specific gaming food or snack, but when I do, it's either pizza or philly cheesesteaks and fries when I go to fighting game gatherings and tournaments.

BEER! Preferably a good IPA. You have to watch it though. There is a sweet spot where beer actually improves gaming performance, after that its all downhill. Its a small window....... Come to think of it.... the same is true for sex too! Lol

My gaming is usually in the morning, so my fuel is black coffee.  If it's late at night it's nothing.   I will have enough f*cked up dreams playing games before bed I don't need the extra from the food.

Hapi Sriracha peas and pretzel M&Ms are both like crack once you start eating them, but they're also great for gaming since they don't gunk up your hands too much.

You know, in most cases, I try to avoid snacking while gaming.  An instance involving my little brother, an xbox controller, and a considerable amount of cheetoh gunk...kinda spoiled it for me.

For the past few weeks, I've been snacking on honey. Teaspoonfuls from a glass jar.

Chase it down with a nice hot tea (earl grey) and you'll be ready for another round of Gomola Speed.
